Villa Sofia exceeded our expectations. Very clean and comfortable. Very quiet location with scenic views. We were close to restaurants within walking distance and short drives. The main beaches were also close. George was always available to answer any questions. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks again George.

The Villa is perfectly situated. An easy 20min walk into a charming beachside resort town with excellent beaches, taverns and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet. You probably need a car to stay there but you should have one anyway to explore all that Naxos has to offer. The view from the upper patio is breathtaking. There is a small and private beach at the end of the lane for use- it was awesome to have your own beach!!! We were able to use a pool at the resort just five minutes away. As other reviews have mentioned, the Villa is adjacent on the same property as the Gentleman who looks after it, George. He is such a typical Greek. By that I mean warm, welcoming, caring and hospitable. He checks in from time to time. The kitchen is incredibly stocked. Do not think twice about renting this villa!!

NAXOS

The house was in immaculate condition and attractively decorated. The location was perfect, close to a beach and not far from the main town. George was very helpful in responding to our needs and questions. Naxos is a perfect island for a Greek holiday.

Perfection!

Perfect! Kind host who offered to assist in any way. Water and cherries were waiting for us in fridge. We all enjoyed the outdoor shower. View was beautiful. Loved walking the ocean front trail by house. We will definitely return!

Nice property as described , with a car which is pretty much a must , it’s 10-15 minutes from the town. There is a hotel right across the street with a restaurant if you don’t want to go far. I would have given it five star if it’s not for the very unpleasant host , he lives 10 yards away and watches us . One morning my husband came down from the terrace to go to bathroom for less than 10 minutes , he immediately went up (I thought it’s not a share terrace but he went up unannounced) and accused my retuning husband aggressively of leaving his expensive coffee mug overnight. We had to explain it. He also request to exam the house BEFORE we depart and both his wife and him came in to count every single towel and spoon as if we were thieves . Last but not least, he told us we need to clean the house while he only cleans the sheet and towels. It added a lot of unnecessary stress during our holiday and I wish we never booked it. If you don’t have a problem dealing with a super demanding host, this property might be okay.

All of these claims are false. We have messages on VRBO where they repeatedly thanked the host for everything that was provided during their stay. They later tried to get money back. They first sent a message claiming that we had opened the shutter ourselves, that they could not sleep well because of it, and they requested a refund. After we proved that they had simply failed to close the shutter themselves and that we had absolutely nothing to do with the issue, they sent another message through the VRBO platform apologizing and admitting that it had all been a misunderstanding, despite previously demanding a refund. Before their departure, we informed them that it is part of our property’s policy to inspect the villa before guests leave. They refused to cooperate and became aggressive toward us. After they left, we found stains on the floors, black marks high up on the curtains that looked as though someone had stepped on them with their shoes, and stains on our premium dining chairs. We have photographs documenting all of this. Preparing the villa for the next reservation required additional cleaning and extra expenses for us because of the condition in which they left the property. These guests did not treat our luxury villa with respect, and we do not wish to host them again in the future.

There are times when travel is just the side show, the property on Naxos was the main event! I'll start by stating that I forgot to contact the host sooner at arrival and we rushed him to meet us at the nearby hotel to get his property and in true Greek form he needled me and I instantly loved our host! That's why travel is the side show, it's about the people that you meet and our host was that person. He was so kind and generous and helpful and awfully funny and gracious (and I think this may have been a difficult time for him). First off the property was AWESOME, it had everything one needed and more. Great Kitchen, Great living area, very comfortable bedrooms, Excellent A/C and Views that sealed every deal (from the rooftop patio). The property is near the best beaches on Naxos (very close by) and they are very nice, I just wish the water was a bit warmer, it didn't prevent my sunburn though! If you're a traveling family, it has a crib in one room as well. We were sad to have to say goodbye to George, but we were all better for the experience of meeting him and having him around! Do yourself a favor and if this pops up on your radar, take a look, it's not far from anything (including a hotel with Restaurant right across the street) and a short drive into the main port city and minutes to the mountain villages. This may draw me back to Naxos!

We loved our stay in Naxos and villa Sofia. George is so helpful. The rooftop of our villa was spectacular for sunsets, especially after a busy day on the island, glass of wine in hand. One sunset we walked to the little beach just down the hill. We swam at many beaches and one day spent a beautiful day at the hotel pool. It is lovely and just a short walk to the hotel which villa sofia has access to. The villa is perfect, the beds are so comfortable and everything nice and clean. We enjoyed having three outdoor spaces. Breakfast on the little side terrace watching the ferries go by. Rooftop sunset, and we cooked one meal and enjoyed the kitchen terrace. We found so much to do on Naxos. We spent a day in the mountain villages, also exploring Chora.

Beautiful house in Naxos

This is a beautiful home with modern features, plenty of relaxing spaces and in a quiet oasis just moments from the lively areas of Naxos. There are unobstructed views of the sea, walking distance to the beach and a 15 min taxi ride into picturesque port town of Naxos - its the best of both worlds! The intent of our vacation was to relax, experience Greek island life, and have quality time with each other (me, my wife, adult daughter and her dog). Mission accomplished. We were very comfortable on the roof patio, the front patio, living room and kitchen. And we each had our own private bedrooms and bathrooms. There is also a hotel/bar/restaurant across the street, and several beach bar/restaurants a 10 min walk away at Prokopios beach (in season). Our host (George) went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. He was always more than willing to help us with any questions we had and treated us (and our dog!) with the utmost kindness! And he surprised us with a bottle of wine, water and fresh strawberries upon arrival! If you are looking for a 2 bedroom space in Naxos, I can't imagine anything better!

Beautiful home with a view and great sunsets

George, the owner was very attentive to guests. He’s a wonderful host, asking all the time if we’re OK or need anything. He had great recommendations for restaurants and activities and he arranged a car rental for us. Though if you don’t drive a stick shift make sure to specify you need automatic as we were surprised to get a manual transmission which only one of us could drive. We’ve vacationed a lot outside the US, and we almost never had anyone entering the premise, unannounced. One of us stayed at home feeling sick and skipped the beach day. She was surprised to see the owner opened the bedroom door. He apologized profusely and we understood, but it was unexpected. I didn’t see a cleaning charge in the listing, but I gladly paid extra 30€ for it that was requested when we left. I also paid €20 for 1 broken plate. Over-all, it was a great vacation and highly recommended. It is a longer walk to town and the long sandy beaches so a car is needed for that and to explore the Island.

Mon sejour

Great Location

The property is at a great location on the island. Close to the main town as well as a hopping with activity beach town nearby. It is situated in a quite spot where you can get away from all off that if you wish. Beautiful view, very clean, very organized with a great host who is available and very helpful when needed. From this property you are a short walk to a beautiful local beach. If you have a car, you are perfectly located for a number of other interesting beaches. Take a trip to the mountains and the villages. Breathtaking. I highly recommend this property. We had a wonderful stay and great host.

Perfect place, perfect hosts for an unforgettable stay in Naxos

The house is 5mn walk from a small but nice beach. 5mn to Prokopios / 15mn from Chora by car so perfect location to easily visit the island. The property itself is perfectly clean and equipped nothing misses! The beds are extremely comfortable. It has 3 terraces that you can use depending of the time/sun and one is THE rooftop! Perfect place for a nice cocktail when sun sets with a terrific view. Last but not least, Georgio, Sofia and Filia are just the best hosts I’ve ever had. Always helpful with the right advices and just so nice. You can only have (very) good time in Sofia’s house.

Wonderful stay!

Our stay at Villa Sofia was truly exceptional. The house is equipped with anything you might need, is immaculately clean, spacious and luminous, and the view is incredible. We would go up to the terrace every evening to watch the sun go down over the sea. There are no words to describe what a wonderful host Georgios is. Upon arriving, we were greeted very warmly, as if we were part of his family. He always made us feel welcome, and took the time to chat with us whenever we crossed paths. Georgios was always there for us when we needed him and even came with us to see a doctor after some nasty anemone bites. The house itself is even better than in the pictures. Out of our Greece trip, this was definitely our favorite spot. It is ideal for families and those looking for a more relaxed trip, and the beaches are otherworldly-but there are still plenty of historical spots and activities to do. We cannot wait to be back!

Great place for a relaxing week by the beach

Villa Sofia is a beautiful place to stay. It is modern, very comfortable and well equipped. It also has great views of the sea, particularly from the roof terrace where we enjoyed breakfasts and BBQ dinners. It is also close (5-10 min walk) to a long sandy beach, 5 mins from the airport, and 10 min drive from Naxos (the main town). We stayed here with another couple for a week and very much enjoyed our stay. It’s worth noting that there is one master bedroom, the other is nice but is not en suite and doesn’t have views. The owner, George, is also very nice and very helpful. His house is right next door and he likes to engage with his guests - we didn’t mind this at all but worth keeping in mind if you’re looking for complete privacy. Overall we’d highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful home, terrific owner.

The house is pristine. Beds were comfortable, showers and air conditioning worked great. The kitchen was well stocked. The views from the back and the roof deck of the ocean and sunsets were incredible. We had two great meals at the restaurant that was 100 yards away. We walked down to the beach every day (10-12 minute walk). We drove in to the port and to restaurants within 10-15 minutes, so the location was terrific. But the best part was the owner who lived next door. He was great with our kids, very friendly and helpful (even putting a bandaid on our daughter when she stubbed her toe). We had a great stay and would highly recommend this home.
