Carol, the owner, was friendly and a great host. Check-in was easy with the door keypad. We enjoyed our time at her cabin. The cabin was clean and inviting and was well-appointed with dishes, cups, bowls, kitchen knives, silverware, etc. Carol asked us what we liked and what she could do better when we checked out, which was thoughtful. Overall, a good experience.

An absolutely beautiful location! This cabin is located in a community next to Lake Cushman, and the lake is an amazing place to visit. The cabin is nice and cozy, perfect for a family or friends who don't mind being co-located. The decor is great, and the cabin was very clean. It is very much a cabin, so there are some rustic parts here and there, but overall very pleased with the cleanliness of the cabin. The cabin kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, and plenty of appliances in the attached laundry room.Other amenities that was quite a surprise was the inclusion of some kayaks and a canoe, and if you have plenty of help there is not too much trouble to get it to the lake access that is nearby.Lastly, communication with the owner was great. She was easy to get ahold of and communicated early regarding anything about the cabin. She was very sweet and helpful.

Great cabin in an amazing setting.

The cabin was perfect for us and the location was excellent for hiking and exploring and swimming in the lake. We will return in the future!

You are right, Kelly. There are so many things to do-just minutes away from Camp Wolf. We never tire of hiking the trails that are so easy to access close by the cabin. It really is relaxing, hiking in the midst of the magnificent forested trails, with the beautiful under canopy of the ferns. The Shady Lane Trail, starting just over the bridge at Staircase , has some pretty Maiden Hair Ferns above the creek as you start this hike. Happy that you had such a great time and look forward to your return.

Peaceful getaway

A nice secluded cabin with an beautiful lake. We had fun hiking, kayaking, and exploring the area. If you want to have some peace, this is a great place to get away from the city.

Wonderful and relaxing stay

Of all the vacations my wife and I have taken over the years, we both would rate this as the best. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the lake was just beautiful. We really needed a get away from all the pressures of daily life and this fit the bill perfectly. I'm sure that we will visit again as this is a real hidden treasure in vacation rentals. Thanks so much Carol for making us feel so welcome in your cabin !!

It really is an amazing experience to be able to just lay back and take in all of the sights and sounds that this little retreat provides for your pleasure. Relaxation in one very cute cabin

My family had a wonderful time staying here. Carol is a wonderful host! The cabin has everything you need. We enjoyed lots of chill out time on the porch and the nearby waterfront parks. Saw lots of deer right outside our window on several occasions. It is a lovely spot and we hope to be back.

Relaxation at it's best

The listing is 100% accurate. We had a wonderful time. So much to see and do or just relax in the cabin. Owner was responsive and made sure wverything was taken care of. We will be back!

Relax at Wolf

nice cabin by the lake with lots to do. Only probkems were the large number of ants we had to deal with. All day every day.

Dear David, I am happy that you enjoyed the area. It was certainly not good for you to have come to our cabin and having to have those ants there. We had record high temperatures and the ants came in like we had never seen before in the 14 years we have had our cabin. We are working with the ant control people to try and eliminate this problem. I would be happy to give you some compensation if that would help. I'm happy to report there have been none of those pestky ants this entire Summer of 2016. 1st time

We had a fabulous time at the Wolf cabin. It was the hottest weekend of the year and out cabin stayed fairly cool. The lake is just a very short walk to a nice grassy beach where the water is shallow for kids to play in. The cabin was very accommodating for a family of 4. We would love to come back and stay again.

Wow, how did you manage to come to Camp Wolf on the hottest day of the century? Our little log cabin stays really cool, if you let it cool down early in the morning, and close up all the windows and doors. We are happy that your family had a fun little trip, and want to return another time. The kids always love the warmed up shallow water and the clarity of the lake to be able to see the lake bottom. We had one man come from another country and enjoyed taking a drink of the mountain water, as he swam around. Thanks, for choosing Camp Wolf at Lake Cushman for your Summer Vacation.

Wonderful everything

Right from the start (booking) communication was excellent. We were made to feel welcome. The cabin was spotless and well stocked. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful. The stream in the adjacent ravine provided the loveliest soundtrack. The beds were comfortable with quality linens. I would book again if we return to this area.

The cabin is super cute! The owner is a sweet heart. I would like yo go again.

We knew there was a parking pass for our car that was provided so we could go to the water and access the parks however if you have a trailer like we did with our kayak's on it you will need to ask the owner to get you a permit for your trailer too. it is a block away from the cabin. An easy walk!! What an amazing Lake!! the place was terrific.

We are happy you enjoyed our cabin. You are the only folks that have brought a trailer for your kayaks, I was thinking they were on your car top. There is a licensed trailer at the cabin for folks to use. It has the proper tags for 2015 so it can be used to launch your watercraft. The weather has been so inviting to be out on the lake. Glad you had good time. Thanks, for your input and being such good guests.

Hiking vacation

Wolf Cabin is spectacular! The owners have a wonderful home that is outfitted with everything you could want for. Close proximity to multiple hiking trails, a glorious lake, kayaks, bikes, and a secluded setting in a fabulous neighborhood. We could not have asked for a better place to stay as a base to explore the Hood Canal area. Although we were there for only four days, we could have easily spent a month here! Thank you Carol and Jimmy for opening your home to us!!

Great cabin. Great getaway.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. It had absolutely everything we needed and more! We took the crab/oyster bucket and went down to Eagle Creek (just outside of Lilliwaup) and got oysters. The tools were in the bucket. Great time. Thanks again.

We are glad that you found those marvelous oyster beds, across from the Eagle Creek Tavern. It always amazes me when I see all of those oysters lying on the beach, at low tide. That's the secret-be sure and watch the tides or you will not get those wonderful oysters, free for the picking. PS- Don't forget your shellfish licenses.

It is a beautiful cabin. It is a block from the lake. You are provided with a pass to the parks & lake access. However you will need to ask the owner to get an additional one for any kind of trailer. We brought along kayaks so we found that out kind of late. Super nice place to stay. I want to go back.

I learned from this stay that we need to ask if our guests want to bring a trailer for their own boat. If I know ahead I can fix that problem and allow guests to get a pass for a small fee. There is a hefty fine if we don't do this for our guests stay and pleasure.

Wonderful stay!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here!!! The home was perfect, nice, well supplied kitchen, nice comfortable bed, nice shower, great location next to a beautiful lake. As this was our first time in Washington, we were too busy sightseeing to take advantage of the canoe and explore the lake..... maybe next time. Carol is a wonderful host, she is available at all times, and goes the extra mile to make sure her guests are happy and well situated. I cannot say enough good things about this place. and will certainly try to stay here again if i get a chance to return to this area.

Cozy comfy lake cabin for Outdoor Sportsman

We enjoyed our stay and Carol was very accommodating and caring to us. We enjoyed watching 3 deer graze around the cabin as we drank our morning coffee. The interior is very country cabin decor. It is as described. We drove to Hoodsport for supplies and free WiFi at the library 24/7. We hiked the Staircase Park areas which is up the road. Hiked around a closed camp ground a couple miles away also, it was October. Made bit farther drives to Hurricane Ridge and Hoh rainforest areas of Olympic National Park. Hope to return! Thanks again.

Fantastic Cabin

We had a wonderful time at Camp Wolf. The cabin was clean, in excellent condition, and well appointed with nice decor. The location is perfect right accross from the lake and the lake is very beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the front deck and on the swing and relaxing to the sound of the creek right next to the cabin. We could hear the sound of the creek at night with the windows open too. Olympic National Park Staircase area is just a few minutes up the road with excellent hiking and scenery. Carol was an excellent host and called us at the cabin on the first day to make sure everything was great with the cabin. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away for a few days or a few weeks. We only stayed a week but we wished we could have stayed a lot longer. Our 18 month old son had the time of his life and was always smiling and laughing.

We love Lake Cushman, with it's crystal clear water and all other little lakes tucked away in the mountains. It is fun to hike the trails along the creeks and rivers in such splendid surroundings. The BEST vacation ever!

My husband and I are world travellers and we have also taken our young children (6 and 8) on many trips throughout the country. My 6 year old wrote me a letter the last day of our trip and stated that this was the best trip of her entire life and I would have to agree! It was something straight out of a Disney movie. We showed up all hooked to our electronics yet left hooked to each other! There is no cell or internet service in or near the cabin. We couldn't get service unless in the town of Hoodsport. It was great :) We had many hikes planned for our trip but ended up spending the entire time in the cabin or at the lake. The cabin is very clean and well maintained. The 2 bathrooms was a huge plus. The grill worked great as well as all of the appliances. we enjoyed playing the boardgames in the cabin as well as using the many toys! The hammock and swing were very relaxing at the end of the day. There are also 2 bikes if you're feeling up to it. We practically had the private lake to ourselves. It was so peaceful and quiet. Be sure to go to Hoodsport and have some ice cream....we went every day :) Thanks so much for allowing us to use your cabin. I have already started referring you to my friends! We'll definitely be back for more great times!

Wonderful weekend!!

Fantastic rental!! Carol was a wonderful host and the cabin was wonderful. We were there to kayak and the cabin was super close to the boat launch. The neighborhood was nice and loved that deer would walk through. We would totally come here again!!

A getaway

The ratings above were difficult because while we had issues with OUR stay and I try to give honest reviews I BELIEVE THEY WILL NOT EXIST IN ANY WAY FOR FUTURE GUESTS. This cabin was rustic and the size was fine for us two girls -who had not seen each other in a while -to do some hiking, laughing and catching up. The location was easy once we found the cabin within the area. The owner was very responsive, thorough, and quick to communicate with us in EVERY way. There were some housekeeping issues, I know that many times the owners get taken advantage of between guests when housekeepers get a little lax. There were some other issues that I will not go into here because when I informed the owner, she exhibited the VERY BEST example of how to respond with grace and action when things aren’t as they should be. Well done, Carol. She already had a plan in place to fix the problems before the next season. So enough said. Future guests will no doubt find the cabin in tip top shape and a complete delight, I’m sure of it. The mattresses were VERY comfortable, BTW, we slept very well while there! The cabin is set into the trees. Very private. Very peaceful. Lake Cushman is amazing, beautiful and there are wonderful trails nearby. We had no problems getting around. I highly recommend Ninas Cafe and the small coffee stand in the parking lot there was the best coffee I had during 3 weeks in Washington! Don’t overlook that little drive up coffee hut gem!

My wife and I pick a different part of the US to visit every fall and this year was the Pacific Northwest. This cabin was quaint and perfect for our place to rest and relax after a day of water fall excursions and great hikes. It’s in a quiet place with a the calming sound of a creek/ rapids along side it. Very comfortable and everything we needed.

Kevin, I'm glad that you enjoyed your Pacific NW trip. Yes, there are a lot of trails waiting to be explored along with the quiet of the surrounding wooded areas to explore. The abundance of water in our area makes for lush green trails, leading into a varied landscape. I never tire of the many treasures , awaiting to be discovered. Wonderful!

We loved our time at here! It was comfortable and cozy! We sat on the front porch listening to the creek babble while our kids lounged on the hammock. It was such a positive experience! The kids didn’t want to leave and we hope to be back soon!

I see that you had a really good time with your family at Camp Wolf. Yes, kids do love their time with their family at our little cabin. I'm sure that you have made some very special memories together. Many families are making this an annual event. Hope to see you again, whenever the time is right for you. A Washington State native, I am. I grew up in Grays Harbor County the daughter of a logger. Many of my early years were spent in the woods and along the creeks in the area. Husband Jim, was a transplant from North Dakota, at the age of 10, finally settling in Southwest WA, on a farm on Cedar Creek. Lake Cushman and the surrounding pristine forests met our criteria for a 'Home Away From Home'- We are choosing to share our 'CAMP WOLF' so you too can enjoy it, with your family & friends.

Our family has enjoyed many memorable experiences, as we have explored beautiful Lake Cushman by boat, snorkel and water sport activities.

Go ahead, come to camp. Forget your troubles and step into a carefree time you have only dreamed of experiencing lately, in this fast paced life.
Go ahead, lay back in the comfy hammock and listen to the tumbling waters just below in the ravine.
Go ahead, grab a cozy sweater and ask someone to join you on the glider swing as you look down into the canyon below and take in the beauty of your surroundings.
Go ahead, enjoy making S'mores as the glowing embers of the campfire keep you toasty. Be sure and glance up at the heavens to see the brightly lit stars as they glisten in the nighttime sky. Night has come the evening invites you inside to play one last game together, before you get into your beds and ponder the day while planning your tomorrows.
