This property was amazing. My family and I wanted a quiet base of operation for our daily hiking expeditions (we went in the summer), and that is exactly what we got with this property. My wife and I started our mornings drinking coffee on the front porch while watching the bumblebees and hummingbirds do their thing and see the occasional deer or two steal some fallen apples from the trees on the side of the property. The road out front may have a car or two pass by in the hour we were out there, but otherwise only the flapping of wings was the soundtrack of our mornings. If you are the type of person that enjoys basking in the sun in the morning, the back porch is the perfect spot to watch the sun crest over the mountains and the possibility to see a beaver (or goundhog? It was hard to tell) and I'm sure the bees and birds like the flowering plants back there as well.I can't really speak to the the state of the house during the afternoons, as we were spending way too much time out of the house having fun with the plethora of activities in the area.As for nights: If you like it dark and want to see a lot of stars, this is the place for you! I'd like to note, though, that the darkness around you in EVERY direction may make you start hearing things that are not actually out there. One that that may be out there is a cat that I think lives at this house usually. He seemed very nice, but hearing the "rawr" in the darkness was a little unsettling until we saw the little guy.
