This awesome cottage on 8 acres in Oregon’s Outback sits next to the Summer Lake Wildlife Area for amazing birdwatching from the living room (over 200 species coming through the Pacific Flyway). Located in a Dark Sky Sanctuary makes it a great spot for stargazing. Ana Reservoir is only a mile away for swimming, paddle boarding and fishing. Fremont National Forest offers many different high elevation lakes, hiking, snow shoeing, and much more. This area is a prime location for photographers. Offering 3 cozy bedrooms - one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with a twin bed and trundle. With 2 bathrooms equipped with hair dryers, lighted mirrors and showers, guests will feel right at home. Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a 6 person hot tub and sauna. Fully stocked kitchen for your cooking and baking needs, board games, books, multiple outdoor gathering locations, washing machine, AC, heating, iron, Starlink WiFi and a 50 amp EV charger. Also, we do have garbage service to the house. It's easy to see why you'll be able to unwind at our place.

We stayed here for three nights and our only regret is that we have to leave so soon. This house is a wonderful surprise. The kitchen is well provisioned with every utensil a chef could desire, and the bbq grill worked perfectly. The sauna and hot tub were ready for us. The beds and linens were fine. But it was the views, and the quiet that captured our hearts. The star gazing was amazing. And our day trips included birding the loop around Summer Lake (which delivered more species than our last trip to Malheur), a hike by the river outside Paisley, a trip down the medicine men trail of petroglyphs, and a hike down “The Crack in the Ground”. There is so much to do here and this house is the perfect base for exploring. We had a great time.

The house was great. Its ridiculously well-stocked with everything you need for cooking, which is great considering you are out there and its a ways to the nearest restaurant. The checkin process and communication was very thorough. The guide was very helpful - read ahead of time. We stopped at the Saloon in Paisley after the recommendation in the guide on the way in and that was a nice surprise. Everything was very clean. They even provided binoculars to look at the birds or whatever. If you're looking for a place in isolation, this is a great bet. It was a little pricey for just the two of us and would have been better value with a family or another couple.

Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The amenities were great, and the location is perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet—plus it’s close to great fishing and hunting spots. The sunrises were incredible, and the sauna was such a relaxing bonus. Highly recommend this place!

Perfect getaway place

The house is very nice with all the amenities. We had 5 guest and pets and was very comfortable. The deck outside was perfect to star gaze at night. Definitely recommend and will stay here again.

First of all the house and location is beautiful!!! Also Randy was very helpful and always quick to respond to text or emails… loved the front deck and unreal views and the house had all that a person needs….Highly recommended!!!

This property was definitely one of the most well thought-out and lovingly kept homes we’ve rented. The layout was perfect for parents and three twenty-something’s, the kitchen was completely stocked with spices, coffee, baggies/containers/ cooking equipment, the ample deck had everything needed to hang out, and the cherry on top was the incredible view!. There were even robes in all the bedrooms for getting to/from the well-maintained hot tub and sauna. The beds were comfy and linens top tier. The Ana reservoir is nearby for launching kayaks/SUPs and fishing, and both Fort Rock State Park and Crack in the Ground hike/ravine are within an hour and well worth the drive. Randy, the host, was so responsive and accommodating when we had a couple of scheduling requests. Our whole family gives an enthusiastic thumbs up and we are already looking forward to going back. Bonus: I’m not sure it’s in the listing but there’s even a charging station at the house.

Randy was super organized and responsive. From check in to check out we felt totally prepared and the processes could not have gone smoother. The house manual was super helpful with tips for appliances in the house, places to eat and get gas/groceries and things to do in the area. The house itself was immaculate and well appointed. We had everything we needed and then some - even unexpected little things are there! From books and games and extra charging cords to spices and containers for left overs to q-tips and flossers in the bathroom and even a sound machine and Keurig in the bedroom. The location was amazing with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and oh, those stars!!! I have never seen so many in my life and the wildlife refuge - practically across the street - was a bird watchers paradise even in the off-season. We have so many fantastic photos that can’t even capture all the beauty we experienced. Such a great home base for so many adventures - Fort Rock, Crack in the Ground, Fremont Point and many more! And for homebodies… great AC and TVs in every room, outdoor grill, sauna and hot tub. Can’t recommend this place more. We had a great time!!!

Peaceful Stay in Beautiful Home

When we first arrived we were blown away by the surrounding beauty. This was our first time exploring this area of Oregon. We came to stargaze and we lucky with clear skies both nights. The stars were incredible. We really enjoyed the sauna and the large deck. Enjoying our coffee and the serenity of the area. The home was better than the pictures and incredibly well stocked, possibly the best stocked rental I have ever stayed in. They had a full spice cabinet, every utensil, kids cups, full game cabinet, even phone chargers!! The beds were firm and seemingly memory foam, but very comfortable and we all slept great. We will absolutely visit again!
