The Gordie is a chalet style log cabin with privacy and comfort. We also have a 2nd cabin The Gertie which is a 2/2 if you are looking for two properties at the same location or something larger or this one is booked. Transport and Jeep Wrangler 4 dr auto top and airport transport also available. Come relax at this peaceful farm stay surrounded by animals and nature. We are nestled next to the Givens Highland Farms retirement community so if your visiting family your a short walk away. The bedroom has a new queen sleep number mattress, while the upstairs loft provides a great open space outfitted with a twin bed and a trundle twin bed for the kiddos or an additional guest(s). The private patio and 220v hot springs hot tub for 3 with Moto massage are steps from your cabin. Fresh eggs are waiting for you at check in and on-site owners assure you will need for nothing. This is a pet friendly cabin with a small fenced in area off the back door for your pet(s). RV/Travel trailer parking available. Intimate ceremonies accommodated with the rental of both cabins for an additional fee.

What a great place to stay very clean very friendly Scott and his partner did a great job has a great place and will definitely be staying there again and referred to eight of my friends who are definitely going to be staying in their cabins

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect rental! It was super clean and appeared brand new. The host was very responsive to my questions I had which was so appreciated. The animals on property were such a fun addition to our trip. The hot tub was also a nice touch. We brought our dog and she enjoyed it as well. We absolutely plan to stay here again!

We had the best time at this cute little hideaway! 5 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, quiet and safe. We enjoyed feeding the animals and the farm fresh eggs left by the owners. Loved the soaps and room spray in the house, the nespresso and the adorable fireplace. The hot tub was perfect! A friend and I were there for a quiet girl’s weekend and were completely relaxed. The cabin was precious and cozy, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Our stay at The Gordie cabin was absolutely perfect in every way. Scott and Jake left no detail behind from the fresh farm eggs, to the soap and shampoo from a local Black Mountain boutique. Waking up to the chickens and goats every morning was such a joy. Carrots and dried worms were provided for feeding, which my son was very excited to do each day. A quick five minute drive to downtown Black Mountain and twenty minutes from Asheville. Can’t wait to come back in the fall to peep them leaves!

Peaceful Perfection!

Black Mountain is our favorite place for a quick weekend getaway. We found this cabin and thought it was too good to be true. We are animal lovers so meeting and giving the ponies, goats and fish treats was all my daughter wanted to do. It was so quiet and close to town. The hot tub was amazing it had a massage chair we fought over nightly. The owners were so sweet and brought us fresh eggs and extra treats for the fish and the animals and spent time telling us about them. We can't wait to come back and we might not even leave the farm next time! The cabin was very clean and had some great shampoo we fell in love with!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Scott was an excellent host, always offering info for the best things to do and restaurants. The property was magical… getting up in the morning and feeding the goats was so fun. Very clean and well stocked. Thank you Scott!

This was one of the best VRBO experiences we’ve had. Scott went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay and provided additional support when we needed a spot for our dogs to sit post check out. I couldn’t recommend this property enough, and will look forward to staying again next time we are in Black Mountain. It was convenient to downtown BM, and Asheville was no more than a 15-20 minute drive.

We have hosted for 10 years in Saint Augustine, Florida before relocated to beautiful Black Mountain. We came half back from our original home of Cincinnati, Ohio. We love engaging with our guests when they have questions about the area or just our life and home. We enjoy boating on Lake James (about 45 minutes away) hiking some nearby trails or walking our dogs around lake tomahawk (less than 1 mile away.) Our life is our farm and our family. You will usually catch us at the farmers markets or local restaurants. We love hearing about all the different families that stay with us, making relationships and hosting the same families for years to come.

To have 2.5 acres within a mile of downtown Black Mountain is a dream. We completely overhauled our house and then got to work on the cabins. The property was then fenced in and the pastures set up to safely protect our animals. We love the proximity to Highland Farms Givens retirement home and hope that many families that are here to visit their loved ones will come stay with us and be able to walk to visit their family members there.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt

We are a farm stay so if you love animals and nature you will love our cabin. You can look out your windows or your porch and see the goats playing with each other or our mini ponies running around or just laying in the sun. We are moving our ducks into our duck pond this spring and hoping they will bring us some baby ducks. Our chickens have a large run and we are doubling our numbers this spring so chances are you will be able to see our baby chickens. From the fountain in the pond, the waterfall in the koi pond, our gardens that we are currently working on to the bees we hope to keep soon there will be so much to engage you and learn about. We hope to offer educational programs and field trips next year and we are continually growing and adding to our halfback home.
