The listing is correct about saying it’s a new property, but it is not well taken care of and going down hill quickly. After we first got to the room, I had to call and request the floors be cleaned, definitely around the base of the toilets. There was urine stained all around the base of two toilets. Even after having the floors cleaned, they were still dirty, but didn’t want to spend our entire vacation having them in and out cleaning the floors, so we just kept our shoes on. There were a ton of gnats, the living room rug was extremely dingy and curled up on the edges, tripping hazard, we had to roll it under so no one would trip. The couches were filthy. I wiped them down with Clorox wipes and I should have taken a picture. The showers had hair stuck to the walls and it wasn’t ours. The cleaning crew is clearly not doing their job. It could be such a great place but it’s just not taken care of. The ice machine was great for filling the ice chest but I wouldn’t recommend it for putting it in glass to drink. It has rust on the back of the ice maker and smells like chlorine. The view was great from the balcony. The pool and water slide were good, wish they had more chairs. The facility could use a place to buy a good beach drink or bar snack but it only had vending machines. Overall, we probably won’t return to Gulf Shores, the water wasn’t what we expected and we weren’t happy with the accommodations.
