Very well equipped kitchen , so perfect for those who like to cook . Great upstairs space and porch to enjoy a gorgeous sunset. Beautiful walk down to the water ... such a lovely spot . highly recommend !!

We loved our stay here. There is plenty of space and Dave and his family are wonderful hosts. It was clean and we enjoyed the gourmet kitchen and drinks on the deck. Highly recommend!

This place can’t be beat if you’re looking for a quiet getaway with views of the water. I went with my husband, 4 month old son, my dog and my parents. We had plenty of space to spread out, cook meals and enjoy peace and quiet. We couldn’t do much hiking this time so it was a bonus to be able to walk around the neighborhood with the stroller (and to Tinderhearth!). We did a quick walk down to the water which was also beautiful. Dave was very communicative and addressed all of our needs right away. We hope to be back next year!

This property was as advertised. They have taken a barn and turned it into an oasis. The sunsets on the back deck were glorious, even after a rainy day. Awnings over the window AC units could help with sleeping, as the dripping on them during the night, sounded like a forgotten kitchen sink faucet.They have forgotten nothing to make your stay very comfortable.Finally, Dave was there for easy checkin and gave great recommendations for sightseeing and local eateries!Thank you for hosting us!Syd T.

Exceptional property and wonderful hosts! We had a terrific mini vacation, thoroughly enjoying the area. Everything was perfect, a very complete kitchen with every appliance, deluxe bathrooms, comfortable bed and a gorgeous view! Couldn’t get any better!

Special getaway

Fantastic well appointed barn in peaceful Brooksville. Hosts were communicative and helpful and the place is exactly as described. Brooksville is a good jumping off point to explore Blue Hill and Deer Island, though it is a decent drive on small winding country roads to explore the area so be aware of that when booking. Otherwise, everything was fantastic!

wonderful stay

Inside and outside of property was outstanding. I enjoyed my morning coffee on a beautiful sunny deck watching my son and his dog walking across the very large field and down to the water. The beds were really comfortable. The bathrooms, one on each level, were all one could want. Our hosts were very pleasant and helpful. We were absolutely pleased with this private accommodation

Our trip to Maine was amazing. Our stay here in this barn everything we hoped. They had anything you would need available if you forgot something. Did not need or want for anything. Landlords were full of information at check in and very courteous. Told us about all the good places to eat and shop. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Maine.

An absolute paradise. The hosts are on site, and the entire family is amazing. They have really put a lot of thought in knowing what you may need while you are there. The kitchen has every utensil you could ever need and use. There is a crock pot, a pressure coker, a huge gas grill, and every spice to choose from. When we travel, we prefer to do most of our cooking at home. The bedrooms are a really nice size, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable. The bathrooms are very large and so tastefully done. The toilets are also equipped with heated seats and Bede's. As for the property, the views and the sunsets are amazing from your private rear deck. The property is spotless. You can take a 5-minute walk down the property right to the water. In the morning the birds are everywhere, and the deer are walking around and enjoying apples from the apple trees. There are a variety of great places to eat in the area. If you are planning a trip to Bar Harbor and you like cheesecake, make sure that you stop in MoMo's Cheesecakes store on Main Street in Ellsworth. They are open 24 House a day and you pay with an honor system with cash, C/C, Venmo, or Paypal. The Cheesecake was amazing. Deer Isle is a 17 Minute drive and there is plenty of sites, restaurants, shops, and art galleries to choose from. We will be back!!!!!

Lovely remote getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Brooksville. The property is beautiful and quiet, but close to local hikes. The beds were super comfortable and we loved the chefs kitchen, which is actually appointed so you can make meals easily. The property was very clean and the WiFi fast (we had to work remotely one day). Host was easy to communicate with and flexible when we needed to alter checkout. We will definitely be back when it is warmer, the path to the water would be wonderful then

Vacation in Maine

We had a relaxing stay, the barn was just perfect. Dave and Meg greated us when we arrived and gave us the tour, and some helpful tips. There was a patch of rhubarb which Meg said help yourselves, which I did and made a strawberry rhubarb pie in the wonderful kitchen. The kitchen had all that we needed, a great chef's kitchen. And all 4 of us loved the super comfy mattresses. And I have to say a few of us loved having the bidet toilets, a plus. It was a super beautiful property, and a very friendly helpful host & hostess. We felt right at home!

Lovely accomodation - great central location

Emily and her family have created a wonderful space in the converted barn next to her parent's house. The accomodation is very clean and comfortable with great appliances and a kitchen that has been outfitted by someone who enjoys cooking. There are many thoughtful extras including great coffee and many condiments. The furnishings are very new and designed for functionality and comfort as well as looks.The location is quiet and peaceful and an easy drive to Blue Hill, Deer Isle and Castine. The property has frontage on the tidal Bagaduce River, which is a nice walk through a hayfield filled with wild flowers. The sunsets from the balcony are lovely.

The setting is serene, with breathtaking sunsets, star-filled night skies, and quiet mornings that make it easy to unwind and unplug.The barn itself is beautifully designed — warm, modern, and inviting. The upstairs feels luxurious yet relaxed, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen is both stunning and functional. Great showers too!Our host was kind, welcoming, and clearly passionate about the area. Dave even gave us a tour of the space and shared insider tips on where to explore and eat nearby. We loved discovering new local favorites in Blue Hill — amazing food, drinks, and coastal charm (and yes, plenty of lobstah (recommend the call ahead options to enjoy from the comfort of your place with breathtaking sunset backyard views!).Don’t miss exploring the shore at low tide and stargazing when the lights go out — truly magical experiences. We had a wonderful stay at Emily House in Brooksville! Dave was an exceptional host and was incredibly helpful before and throughout our stay. He made sure we knew where everything was in the house and even shared great recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit.The house was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and had plenty of space for our group. It was equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at home.Brooksville is such a beautiful area and the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
