We are happy to provide a list of items that we require owners to stock their property with. (Blenders and mixing bowls are required.) Occasionally items do go missing, and those items are typically inventoried and restocked in the fall each year. If during your stay, you find any of these items to be damaged or missing, give us a call. We will be happy to purchase a replacement and drop off at the unit. If you have any questions about the property you are considering, and if you have specific needs or expectations, we have local staff in Mammoth available 7 days per week to talk to you or answer any questions. We are so sorry this guest was unhappy! We always strive to make every guest stay as perfect as possible, inspecting every property twice between every departure/arrival. Our staff are human of course, and so even if we hit 95%, that still leaves some issues from time to time for guests to contend with. I would say the unit was warm, because California was undergoing a heatwave. Nevertheless Mammoth never exceeded 85° at any time this summer. I’m not sure why we would be graded down for the weather? We are in the guest service business, not the weather business :) While we cannot change the weather, we can provide fans (which we did). We also have air conditioners available for rent for a daily fee. (This guest made no request.) Our staff are human of course, and so even if we hit 95%, that still leaves some issues from time to time for guests to contend with. We manage about 65 properties and not one of them has central air conditioning (absolutely none are advertised as having A/C). Mammoth Lakes is a mountain town at 9000 above sea level. Our hottest days in the summer are in the 80s. It is very breezy here year round. I am unaware of any property other than commercial spaces that are air conditioned in Mammoth. Like a beach town, you just need to open a couple windows. In the event of unseasonably hot weather, we do stock several portable air conditioning units and they can be rented for a delay fee (includes the electricity costs) with about 24 hours notice. We have not had smell complaints in the unit before, however this guest stayed at the end of the greatest record setting winter in Mammoth history and we did receive an almost unimaginable 75+ feet of snow, and as it thaws and melts away there may be some mildew issues to address (due to the fact it is still too cold to open windows for air). We would have gladly sent our cleaning staff to help, and we will definitely seek to address this concern right away. Unfortunately, this guest never contacted our office to give us an opportunity to correct any of these issues. If you have trouble during your stay, I encourage you to contact your VR manager while you are in the property, as they may well be prepared to handle your concerns. We have 18 full time staff members in our housekeeping, maintenance and guest services departments who we can call upon to resolve problems. If this happens, or if you are concerned about problems with a unit you are considering, please call our offices at Mammoth Five Star Lodging. We have staff available by phone or email, 7 days/week, 9am-6pm (Pacific) to ensure you book exactly the property you want and to address issues that may come up during your stay.
