Upon arrival the dryer was running & the washer was filled with linens. I texted & called the host twice, but did not hear back for awhile, as we were asking if it would be ok to remove the items & place them in the guest bedroom, as we needed to use the washer & dryer due to 4 days of travel prior. The living room rug was disheveled/trip hazard & impossible for two ppl to readjust, due to size & rug protecter underneath. The house smelled a bit like cat urine, esp near the kitchen. The sofa was large, but uncomfortable & all the furniture was a bit worn. We slept in the bedroom near the kitchen & the mattress was not very comfortable. There were cobb webs all over the exterior windows & rain gutters full of leaves, which gave an overall unkempt/uncared for feeling. The soap/shampoo & conditioner provided were watered down & smelled of strong antiseptic/ tea tree oil, leaving you feeling the need to re-wash. We ended up purchasing hand soap & travel shampoo/conditioner, as well as wash clothes & toilet paper. We also bought salt & butter for the kitchen. What the home lacked in bare necessities, it made up for in character. It was truly a darling home with great windows & light & hardwood floors, built ins & overall 1940’s charm. Easy entry, private & quiet & a driveway to park in. Needs some TLC. Thank you Adlar!
