The location is fantastic—about two blocks from the dog beach and a park, with restaurants nearby and downtown less than a 10-minute walk away. The patio was a big plus, the kitchen appliances were nice, and the Wi-Fi was excellent for working remotely.Parking is street parking. Some days it was difficult to find a spot and we often had to park on another street. There are street-sweeping signs everywhere, so be aware—I unfortunately received a parking ticket. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. We were there during a heat wave, so this may have been worse than usual, but the living area was extremely hot. The bedroom window unit did okay with the door closed, but did very little for the living space. Even with the windows open at night, it remained very warm. There was also an ant problem. A hole above the stove appeared to allow ants into the kitchen, and we spent the week fighting them with traps. We lost the fight.Several things need maintenance/updating: the desk chair was too low so you had to reach up to work on the desk, the outdoor hose had a hole, beach chairs were old/rusty, some windows were missing screens, a few patio string lights were out, and a bedside table was pulling out of the wall. I also couldn't figure out how to lock the gate even though it has keypad and code, so it remained unlocked.Overall, the location and dog-friendly setup are excellent, but the property needs maintenance. The heat and ants significantly impacted our comfort.
