Karen, this is the first we have heard of your concerns about feeling unsafe in our home, a home we plan to someday live in permanently and have invested countless hours into updating and repairing. We’re sorry you felt uncomfortable, but these concerns were not mentioned once during your three-night stay. We received no messages or indication there was a problem. Had we known, we would have gladly provided a FULL refund and ended your stay. As Premier Hosts, we take great pride in our guest experience and reviews, and never want a guest staying somewhere they do not feel comfortable. As you noted in our listing, this is a historic 1929 home on a very steep hillside. Like other homes along this hillside, it has experienced settling over nearly 100 years, noticeable in portions of the floors and walls. We are aware of the exterior condition and are working with contractors and professionals to address it. For future hosts: We had chosen not to leave a negative review despite concerns during this stay, including arriving before check-in and smoking directly outside the non-smoking home. This review was submitted at the end of the review period, and by the time we saw it and attempted to leave an honest review of our experience, the review window had closed. Communication goes both ways, and we wish these concerns had been shared during the stay rather than after three nights with no communication. We won't make the mistake of waiting to review again.

It's unfortunate that the VRBO platform permits irrelevant and speculative comments — such as those about the foundation — which have no bearing on your actual stay, nor your actual review. With that response, my answer should have been no, I wouldn't rent to this guest again, I hope that other hosts are able to see and use this review for future staysnwoth this guest.
