Rather spacious for its size. We had some bad weather over the weekend, so we made good use of the screened porch. Very peaceful and almost no traffic. I would definitely rent again. The host is very responsive to any orations or comments.

This was the perfect cabin for me and my son. Great porch/deck for enjoying the peaceful scenery. The cabin was comfy and was just as described. Great communication with host.

I reserved the "cottage" to attend my 50th high school reunion. I suspected before arriving that I might know the area in which the house is located. Sure enough, as a teenager, I had been there to visit my boyfriend's grandmother who lived further up the road. I learned how to drive his father's VW Beetle straight drive on that road. So it was a very nostalgic experience, and it's a beautiful area of Scott Country.There is an interesting swinging bridge on the right as you turn to go to the house. While there, the family who owned it were having a 50th celebration. It was nice to be invited to join them. I had forgotten how friendly most people are in the area. Unfortunately we had a busy weekend so we didn't have time to walk across the bridge.We enjoyed the time we spent in the house. While it's an old house, it was very comfortable with the amenities we needed. I especially enjoyed the screened in front porch in the mornings while drinking coffee and looking out to the sun sparkling on the river across the narrow road. I was also pleased that we could take a walk not too far down the road and find adequate green space for our well-behaved dogs to do their business. It's important for us to find VRBO options that allow us to bring them with us.

Fishing cabin

It was overall a great place to stay for a short family gathering. Loved the river so close. Beautiful scenery, great location. The outdoor spaces are perfect for a cookout, a gas grill would have been nice.

The host was quick with communication from booking to leaving. The place is really decorated nicely and cozy to be in. There are small warmers for the sleeping area that made it toasty to get into bed. The kitchen was stocked with enough plates and other cutlery, dishwasher tabs, and pots and pans for my stay. The water became warm quickly and the shower pressure was sufficient.

Our family stayed two nights while visiting Bristol for the NHRA races and found the location peaceful and quiet. It had everything we needed, but we ate out for our meals. The property does have WiFi and streaming services which was nice. The deck and screened in porch is lovely as well. The house is older but well maintained.

This is a pretty decent place. Wouldnt recommend it for longer stays because the beds arent real comfortable and there isnt much tv on down times unless you subcribe to alot of streaming services, the wifi was pretty reliable. All in all. They are honest about the fishing cabin. What you see is what you get. If you are gonna do some fishing it is pretty steep to get down to the river. No steps directly off the road but once you get down that little bit there are some steps untill you get closer to the water...then no steps again. We had a fine stay for the most part though.

Yes there is high speed fiber optic internet and no cable tv. The queen bed, the full size futon pullout, and the twin bunk bed have memory foam mattress toppers. The steps are steep or ‘sloped’ at the river access to help kayakers and canoers with their boats.

pet friendly though we didn't bring our dogs, but they would have loved it! easy check in with code . i did not communicate with the host until after check out because we didn't have any problems, but im very sure if we did need to contact them there would've been no issues. very spacious yet compact cabin, very clean - even the dishes were completely spotless. usually i have an issue with lack of water pressure at remote cabins similar to this one, but the water pressure was great! beautiful view from the screened in front porch. lots of wildlife , we even got to hear a pack of wolves on the first night. wifi was great with multiple devices connected. there's an access just across the street to a river that would be perfect for kayaking . all in all just a very lovely little cabin , very cozy . the vintage westinghouse fridge/freezer was super cool (and worked very well) too ! unfortunately that's the only thing i took a picture of in the cabin definitely plan on coming back , but with the dogs next time .

Overall a nice escape. Cute house in the middle of nowhere which is exactly what we were looking for. Please note: if you plan to do any cooking, BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED. Cookware, drinking glasses and coffee mugs are limited. Bring food storage containers, spices, frying pan, etc. as none of that is there. No instructions were provided as to what was what inside the house so it was a guessing game on some things. Grill is charcoal so be prepared. Also, host has a camera pointed directly into the front porch so if you plan to spend a lot of time out there, either block it or know you are being watched. No guest book to sign or write notes or provide feedback in was provided either. There is no cell service at the house but there is WiFi, be prepared for that. Overall a lovely little place, just wish I had been better prepared by the host for what we needed to bring and the responses I got were either automated or extremely brief. Definitely would go back, now that I know what to bring.

I appreciate your feedback. Your stay is very special and I hope to have y’all back. The camera is in place for guests safety. The lense is wide angle to monitor river and road conditions, not guest activities. Much of what is happening on the porch or deck can not be distinguished.

#1 Had to clean porch when arrived there was mud and debris on it that's first one.#2 Had bought groceries put them in refrigerator and noticed there was a small odor and it was barely cool so we set it for cooler it didn't work we had to buy coolers to try and save some of our food we lost our meats cause we couldn't keep them in that the cooler very well.#3 The kitchen sink was stopped up with some kind of black stuff, we plunged it it still wouldn't go down one night we had to dip water out of it the was more coming in and we didn't want it to overflow .We talked to the host Alex and let him know about our problems all he could say was its gonna be weeks before he could get anything done.We only can afford 1 vacation a year and only thing he could say was you would have to leave before I can do anything. He also doesn't give back refunds said he only gets 30%of the money the rest goes to vrbo.Oh and another thing there was cobwebs everywhere and I swept the floor and a whole dust pan of dirt and black dog hair filled the pan up .oh another thing there is dog pee stain on the side of the chair and off from our bedroom there was like a little sofa well it was full of pee stains. It was mine and my husband's 52nd wedding anniversary and we wanted to go do something different, we did and we didn't enjoy it at all

The home was checked after your stay. You set the dials the wrong way on the fridge so it was not cooling, there was actually still ice in the freezer when I arrived. The kitchen sink was checked and I found no black substance and nothing wrong with it, the water drained adequately. The home is cleaned before every stay and the house is on a Terminix monthly plan. The storm that occurred just before your arrival downed a lot of debris. I am so sorry the stay could not have been as special as your day! Just a friendly bit of advice please step back and evaluate your situation before jumping to conclusions.
