Welcome to our charming historic coastal cottage. This single-family home was built in 1936 and thoughtfully updated to provide modern comforts while preserving its timeless appeal. Perched in the heart of Encinitas, this cozy one-story home offers well-designed living space with ocean views and a prime location that’s walkable to everything Encinitas and Cardiff have to offer.

The property features 2 inviting bedrooms and 1 well-appointed bathroom, making it perfect for small families or couples. Step out into the private backyard to enjoy the San Diego sunshine, or soak in the outdoor jacuzzi while surrounded by mature avocado and citrus trees. Beautiful property in a quiet neighborhood! It was perfect for our family with 2 young kids. We were able to walk everywhere and enjoyed the sunsets from the front porch!

Excellent location! House was charming and clean, with a large private backyard and beautiful view from the front porch. Hosts communicated well and the check-in/check-out process was easy and efficient.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house is clean,nice backyard with clean and well heated jacuzzi, comfortable beds,well stocked kitchen, short walking distance to the beach and places to eat and shops in Encinitas. Will definitely be back..

We had a lovely stay. The home was conveniently located close to downtown Encinitas. The home was in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean, spacious, and well stocked. The property group responded quickly to any questions. The outdoor space was wonderful, we really enjoyed the hot tub and views of the ocean. Highly recommend staying here!

We loved our stay in the cottage in Encinitas! It was the perfect spot for our family of 4. We enjoyed sitting on the front steps and watching the sunset over the Ocean, the quick walk down the hill to Swami's beach and into town for ice cream, and the hot tub each evening. Kids loved running around in the backyard and enjoyed an orange from the beautiful orange tree in the yard. It was quiet and cozy and great for making meals in versus eating out every meal! Go to Lazy Acres store, it was the best!Only drawback was the dishwasher not working, which they property owners were quick to respond to and offer a solution for. And a few ants (which seem to be an Encinitas-wide problem, not isolated to this cottage), they really weren't that much of a bother.Thanks for having us, we'd most definitely return!

- The place has no air conditioning and while the cross breeze helps in the living, you can’t get a cross breeze in the bedrooms.- The place was infested with ants.- The yard has loaded mole traps so I could not let my small children loose in the yard.- The vacuum was broken which made sand cleanup after the beach difficult.- The “driveway” is too small for anything other than a compact car.- There is no way to lock the screen doors. So to keep the place tolerably cool my family had to put themselves at risk by keeping all the doors wide open every day.

As noted in the listing, the home does not have air conditioning, which is common for many coastal homes in the area. Fans are provided for additional comfort, and enjoying the ocean breeze through open windows is part of the beachside lifestyle many guests love. We would also note that the home offers parking for two standard-sized vehicles in the designated driveway alongside the home, as outlined in our arrival information. We appreciate you sharing your experience and wish you and your family all the best in your future travels!.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location. We walked for coffee every morning, to the beach, all around Encinitas for meals and shopping. The fruit trees in the back yard are such a bonus! We ate oranges, lemons and avocados! We either went to the beach or could watch the beautiful sunset from the front window. This house is very well maintained with comfortable furniture and beds. We would definitely stay here again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed a week at the Coastal Cottage and it was wonderful. The property was clean and had everything we needed. No a/c, but opening the front and back doors for the cross breeze was the best! Upon arrival and initial walk-through, we realized a few items were broken - a hinge on one of the cabinet doors and the rear door lock wasn’t functioning. We also noticed a significant amount of dirt and sand inside the hot tub - the water was very dirty. I reported these items to the management company right away and they not only responded quickly, but had someone out the next day to fix things. It did take 2 days for them to get the hot tub cleaned. The location was great and the neighborhood was incredibly safe. Highly recommend!
