Host is argumentative and victim blames. Of the many issues we had, of utmost importance is that she violated gov't code by failing to respond to our 9:45pm message for help (locked out) until abt 11 HRS later. Admittedly, it was my fault for believing that a key that was left in the kitchen would unlock the manual lock on the front door (it doesn't), but that doesn't excuse her violation of code requiring her to respond w/in 30 minutes after a problem is reported. She claims she was "fast asleep" and didn't hear the phone ring. But when I called, the call went right to voice mail, meaning she either turned off the phone, blocked calls or just chose not to answer. I called VRBO for help and they tried to contact her multiple times with no response. If it hadn't been for my husband figuring out how to get in about 1.5 hours later, we would have been left out in the cold all night. If we had needed medication locked in the house this could have ended very badly. When she finally responded the next morning (no call, just a message), it was simply a list of house info stating not to manually lock the front door. BTW, the info in the house doesn't mention the front door lock, but the digital info she sent states if you happen to manually lock the door (they know its a problem), there's a hidden key, but they fail to say where that key is. She did refund 100 later the next afternoon after I pointed out the code violation. IRRESPONSIBLE and DANGEROUS host. There's much more. . . .
