Absolutely stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The outdoor terrace was perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Beautiful home immediately adjacent to open park land. Our family loved it.

The pictures of the place were great. A lot of games and activities to do while we were at the house. The walking trails around the house were great. If we ever happen this way again I’ll be looking at this place to stay once again.Ok

This was the perfect place for my family to gather in honor of my husband’s and my 40th wedding anniversary. It is a spacious, well-maintained, and very attractive house. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinner every night, from grilled steak to pasta to homemade pizza. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. There was plenty of open living space right off the kitchen and so many lovely windows! The view was glorious and the outdoor balcony and deck were perfect places to gather at the end of the day and share a glass of wine. We also enjoyed the hiking trails right outside the door. Found a little creek and had so much fun wading in it.Thanks for making our family gathering so luxurious, comfortable and special!

The house was amazing and perfect for our family trip. The kids loved seeing deer come right up to the porch and the trails behind the house were great for an early morning hike. Any questions we had were answered quickly. Loved our stay here!

The view from this unique home is exceptional and so very peaceful. Rose & Ryan's home is well appointed and has a wonderful ambiance to it. The two days we stayed in the home were extremely relaxing and I was talking with my cousin about how perfect this home would be for a family getaway. I would recommend this home to my friends and family for future rental. Communication with Rose & Ryan was fantastic and timely. I so enjoyed spending my birthday relaxing in their home. Mahalo nui loa!

This was our annual family trip to Colorado Springs and this property is by far the best one yet! From the amazingly beautiful breathtaking views to all the comforts of the home including the beds, the hot tub, heated floors, and even a bidet in the master bathroom was a plus. The host, Rose, is very sweet and very responsive. She was available 24/7 for any questions we had about the property. We highly recommend this home and host. We can’t wait to visit again! Thank you for the unforgettable memories!

Great location, deck space, and views. We could walk from the house to a park with great hiking trails. Very eclectic design with some fun aspects (I won't spoil the surprises). Some interior finishes and furnishings are not top grade. We found many hairs in bathroom drawers and let the owner/manager know, and they seemed appropriately concerned so I hopefully that won't be an issue in the future. We did not use all the bedrooms; the loft seemed very tight and not where I would want to stay, but it might work for others. We did not use the hot tub or grill so I can't comment on those. The house only had one indoor living area; other VRBO houses we have rented of this size usually have more living areas, often on a lower level. However, the space worked well for our group of eight (us, our three kids, and grandkids). If you expect top quality, expensive furnishings and finishes, you might be disappointed. We did not and found it very comfortable for us. We enjoyed this house very much and would stay here again if we return!

Beautiful view surrounds you. Kitchen was very well stocked. My family enjoyed hiking the trails right off the property. The home was conveniently located. VRBO sent via email the WiFi network and password. However, it was not correct. Completely different and very frustrating to communicate to owners. AC in two bedroom not working correctly along with a breaker flipping. However, Rose was able to resolve the situation on day two and WiFi was resolved late on day 1. It would be very helpful to have a manual with instructions ( which has been suggested in other reviews) so we wouldn’t have to bother the host. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

I‘m s sorry you had to deal with the breaker issue I I know it must’ve been an inconvenience. We have resolved the breaker issue and plan on during the off-season installing mini splits, which will be more reliable. Tha Thank you for your feedback.

The property is beautiful, very spacious and well furnished. The only complaint is that the property does not have central heat and air and the temperatures reached 80 plus degrees while we were there. The bedrooms were very hot and we did not sleep well. There was only a mini split unit in the kitchen which did not cool the whole house. We asked about it and were told that they bring in seasons portable air conditioners but only in the summer months. It would also be helpful if they provided a welcome book with a manual on how to operate everything in the house.

Thank you Stefanie for staying at the Cañon Retreat! We appreciate your feedback and will provide the portable air conditioners starting in Spring. We do have fans available in each bedroom. We have had unseasonably warmer months here in Colorado Springs this year, apologize for the warm bedrooms. We also have a welcome book and manual available now. Thanks again for staying with us!

The hosts were very welcoming and any communication with them was addressed pretty quickly. The spaces were all great from the great room to the bedrooms to both decks, and the views were wonderful. The host had decorated for the holidays, which was very appreciated. On the downside of things, for all the detailed instructions provided regarding both check in and check out, I was surprised to find none in the house regarding operations of things. It would've made for a smoother first couple of days. Make sure to check out the zoo! It was a gem!

Best parts of the home are the Views, next to open space for walking/hiking, and the open concept floor plan. The living room & kitchen is very open; plenty space for a large family to gather and hang. We enjoyed the Beautiful views & expansive deck. Very cool, unique place. Drawbacks- the tv didn’t work (lost remote control). No home manual on how to operate the iPad home control center, shades. fireplace, etc. Plenty of beds for sleeping but some rooms felt small & cramped. The bunkbed space looks a closet. Parking is minimal/tight. 5 star review for the views, open floor plan for a large family/group in living room, kitchen & deck. Unique property.

Beautiful views

The house is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The only Complaint that we had was the cleaning of the house. The refrigerator had not been cleaned from the last people and we had to wipe it down. We were picking up crayons and cereal off the den floor when we arrived. I would stay here again but the cleaning team needs to do a better job

We loved the house. It is in a convenient location and had everything we needed and beautiful views. The kitchen had everything pan or utensil we could need to cook our meals. There are plenty of nice towels and pillows and blankets. The hot tub was perfect. (I bring my own test strips.) Parking is very tight. Also there is a one lane road going up to the house and when anyone is parked along it your vehicle gets scratched up by brush on the other side. We found it easier to use the road just to the east which is more accessible. The only improvement I could suggest is to sand down the countertops and sides of the wood beams that make up the bed bases. We splinters when wiping off the wood countertops on the island by the sink in the kitchen and when stepping too close to the wood bed base in the back bedroom. Just a couple of things to be aware of but definitely will not keep us from visiting again! This home is beautiful and well thought out. The artistic vision with which it was remodeled is incredible! The hosts are amazing and very good at communication. If they ever want to sell we are interested! We can’t wait to return!
