Four bedrooms sleep eight, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the primary opens to its own view of the water. You fall asleep to the waves and wake up to them, the sound guests remember longest. The location earns a perfect five stars.



The Space:

The house has four bedrooms and sleeps eight. The primary has a king, a private bathroom, and its own ocean view; the second has a queen; the third is built for families, with two twin beds and a pull-out; and the fourth has a queen, a private bathroom, and its own kitchenette. Three bathrooms in all, one off the primary, one off the fourth bedroom, and a family bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped, and an ocean-facing deck with a barbecue takes care of meals outside. You'll also have a dedicated workspace, high-speed wifi, smart TVs throughout, exercise equipment, and beach gear including a surfboard and supplies for the sand. Cotton linens, robes, and grooming supplies come standard, and a crib is ready on request. There is no air conditioning, though the ocean breeze usually keeps the house cool, and no laundry on site.



Guest Access:

The whole house is yours, all four bedrooms, the living areas, the kitchen, and the ocean-facing deck, with a short, easy path down to the beach. Parking is one private spot at the house, with street parking nearby.



The Neighborhood:

This is the quiet, western end of Malibu, where the coast is at its most beautiful and least crowded. Lechuza Beach is steps away, and El Matador, with its sea caves and rock arches, is a short drive west for the most photographed stretch of the whole coastline. Trancas Country Market sits close by for coffee, groceries, and a surf shop, the everyday hub of this end of town. Point Dume is minutes off for a bluff-top walk and, in season, whales passing offshore. When you want dinner over the water, the classic Malibu rooms, Geoffrey's and Malibu Farm out on the pier, are an easy drive east along the coast.



Getting Around:

You'll want a car out here. Malibu runs long and thin along the Pacific Coast Highway, so most things are a drive rather than a walk, and the coast road is the route for nearly all of it, beaches to the west, restaurants and the pier to the east, the city beyond. Santa Monica is about forty minutes down the coast and LAX around an hour, depending on traffic. Parking is one private spot at the house, with street parking nearby.
