Fantastic Family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had another great vacation. This is the 7th yr we have stayed in this house. It would be nice if they would fix the pool lights and the broken filter. Someone is going to get cut bad on that.

We really enjoyed Sandy Paws! The location was great, the interior of the home was clean, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The house itself needs some work (updated appliances, faulty plumbing, more forks).

Sandy Paws- Aug 1-Aug 8 stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we first got their the door code wouldn't work. The #9 stopped working on the door. We called Garden City Realty and the lady was able to help us get in until maintenance could come by and fix it. We had an infant with us and she was very considerate of that with the heat. Maintenance showed up in about 15 mins. He fixed the door panel and set us up a new code. Everything worked perfectly, the air conditioning, hot water, washer/dryer. It did rain in the early mornings and evenings for a couple of days so when that happened the rain water ran into the pool causing it to get dirty and turn green. Maintenance came by 2 days while we were there and cleaned it and put chemicals in, easy fix. Things with the pool is to be expected. The house was in a wonderful location to the beach, very quiet street, great neighbor, we couldn't have had a better stay. Only recommendation I would give would be getting a new vacuum. We wanted to use it for cleaning up sand that the kids would track in and the one at the property didn't hardly work. If you have several kids and adults going I highly recommend staying at Sandy Paws. Also this was the first time taking my Frenchie on vacation, she did wonderful and loved the house as well.

There was 10 of us on this vacation. House was clean. The pool was dirty, and did not get cleaned while we were there. But other than that, it was a good.

Great Week at Sandy Paws

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Six family members joined our trip to Garden City Beach. it was our first time staying in this area and thoroughly enjoyed. The house was in a good location and we loved the privacy of the salt water pool. Everyone voted that we should stay at Sandy Paws next year! Thank you for your hospitality and help with some details along the way. Getting a golf cart was a good idea. We found everything in good shape.If you could have turned down the outside heat... Also, Brookgreen Gardens did not disappoint. Just beautiful.

Beach Rental

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The tree outside by the pool is overgrown and leaving the pool dirty everyday. Also the tree is full of bees and flies. A lot of bulbs need to be replaced inside. Would not rent again as is.

Nice house and great location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Sandy Paws. The pool was a bit small and needed a mid-week cleaning which it did not get, but we used it daily and appreciated it with the super hot weather. The views were great and it was super easy walk to the beach. I would suggest the owners look into new beds, especially the king bed on the 2nd level, it was not comfortable and you could see the sagging on each side of the matress. I did also have to clean the kitchen upon arrival as there was dried juice on the refrigerator and floor. We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend this house/location to future renters. Garden City Realty was very nice and easy to work with as well.

Great bones but...

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Although housekeeping did their best the home had not been well-maintained. It was also not well stocked (ex 5 brs but only 6 spoons; 0 serving bowls). We called for supplies, repairs & to ask to something removed. We even changed the air filter. It was in a great area, great pool, great size. Just such a disappointment w a filthy sofa, area rug (which we had removed), broken furniture, handrails, etc. Would have loved to love this place.

Repeat Renter, Maybe the Last

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here three times now and this time was definitely down hill, sadly. The rental company is great, they were so sweet, but the house was dirty... layers of dust on blinds and windows and baseboards. We had a broken freezer which took days to fix and our fridge didn't cool correctly. Our pool was cloudy and green, they did get it fixed but it was gross still. Location made up for most of that, but it was definitely not as nice as prior years. Luckily, no more palmetto bugs this year!

Beach rental with issues

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This could be a very nice rental with 5 bedrooms and 5 full bathrooms but there are some issues. It is in need of a really good deep cleaning. One of the upstairs bathrooms was very dirty and smelled of urine. We cleaned all 5 bathrooms ourselves. We had a huge problem with roaches (adult and babies) Someone came twice and sprayed for roaches but we still saw multiple ones every day. I'm sure the roaches are there because the house needs a good cleaning. If these issues were to be taken care of then it would be a nice rental. It's just a few blocks from a nice part of the beach. Having a pool at the house is nice too. They need to get rid of a chair in the living room that most of the leather has pealed off. It looks terrible. Unfortunately we won't stay here again due to the roach problem.

A little Disappointed

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had stayed at this house 4 years ago. Happy we didn't have to supply our own linens or towels. But the house itself was a somewhat wore down, numerous marks on the walls, outside decks need major attention. The outside stairs has numerous nails sticking up, one of which my son stepped on, fortunately not causing any injury. Overall the stay was comfortable as before, beds are great, pillows not so much. Staff at the rental office was very friendly and helpful.

Reviewer Comments: Our experience overall was good but the management companies fall short on having the properties checked by someone competent (doing a walk through)prior to guests arriving. There are always things needing attention that are very obvious! This year there was a large dead roach middle of the living room floor and a dead squirrel near the pool as well as several lights needing new bulbs including the top of steps entry. Personally I like the property and this experience has been similar at several other properties. When you are paying hard earned money for a vacation you deserve a competent person checking basics prior to your arrival.

Railing broken on second entrance not good when we had four handicapped people with us.. would not rent again unless updates were done.

I have to admit it was cleaner this year than previous years, but it still needs some deep cleaning. Baseboards, ceiling fans, carpet and furniture need attention. There are some maintenance problems also. Weak floor in downstairs bathroom. Nails heads sticking out from under stairwell ground floor. Light bulbs that need replacing. Handrail loose going from ground floor to first floor porch. I hope next year some of these things will be taken care of.

Perfect Family Vacation

I couldn't find any recent reviews on this house so we were a bit concerned but the house was as advertised. The pool was nice, it was an easy walk to the beach and the kitchen was well equipped.

very disappointed in this rental unit

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is a main road with a lot of traffic. Property was not clean, and even had rice and lettuce on one of the mattress covers. Horrible smell, probably due to floors in several areas definitely had water damage. Pool light hasn't worked according to the reviews since 2015 and backyard has no lights to night swim. Porch rockers are flaking paint so bad you can't sit on them. Hammock was coming apart more everytime someone sat on it. Had the maintenance dept change a/c filter because of the smell. We came home to find the door unlocked with a note on the counter that the filter was changed. Pool was not clean when we checked in and did not get cleaned all week long.
