Relax in my cute, sunlit cottage with a shady, private fenced yard in downtown Southport. Perfect for pets! 2 cozy bedrooms with one queen and 1 twin trundle making an additional twin bed. Only 3 blocks from the water it is in a sweetheart location - right in the center of the busting historic district but is tucked away in a quiet nook. Sit in swing in driveway and feel the ocean breezes with a peek-a-boo view of water at end of street. Enjoy fire pit. 2 miles from ferry to Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island - 10 minutes from quiet, uncrowded Oak Island and Caswell Beaches. Come experience Southport from my quiet home nestled under the oaks. This is where I had my daughter, raised chickens and walked the waterfront for 20 years. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have. I have tried to make it comfortable and welcoming - and furnished with everything you will need on your stay. The yard is very private and shady with lots of places to sit and enjoy nature. Everything Southport has to offer is within walking distance. Reverse osmosis filtered water, French press, kuerig, coffee grinder and drip coffee maker - crock pot, ninja blender, bread maker, juicer - bikes, beach umbrellas, zip line, fire pit, swings in the yard - Lots more!

This is a charming little place with tons of character. There’s a calmness to the house that makes it easy to relax. It is pet friendly and we were thrilled to be able to take our pup with us. It’s convenient to everything you want to do in the area. Rena is a great host, quick replies to questions, and really wants her guests to have a great visit to Southport. I highly recommend staying here on a trip to Southport.

Amazing cozy cottage in a great location. Rena is a wonderful host who provided everything I could need in the cottage, as well as good recommendations for food and events nearby. I had a very comfortable and quiet stay and enjoyed all of her art in the space.

Everything about our stay was perfect! The home was absolutely beautiful, charming, cozy, and clean. We had everything we needed. It is in a very quiet neighborhood, but also very close to all the little shops of Southport. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better host!

Rena’s place was perfect. Communication super fast response plus sent a friend to fix the fence so our dogs were safe!! This stay is top 3 in 20 years of vacationing with our family. So much love was put into this place it felt like home!! The details from the art work to snacks left to just the little things most rentals don’t have. The nostalgia seeing the measurements on the wall, this was a big thing my uncle did with me and my 3 daughters growing up. My 18 year old said she could live here We definitely plan to come back

We love Southport!

This was our 3rd trip to Southport and first time staying outside of a hotel. This adorable home is in a great location, we loved being able to walk to Southport Coffee Co and the waterfront. The sunroom is perfect for reading in the morning and my kids loved all the games and fairy lights. It is an extremely quiet and peaceful oasis!

Adorable cottage in Southport

Loved this cottage for our “Staycation” in Southport. We live 30 minutes away and go to Southport throughout the year. This location was perfect to walk to shops & restaurants. The cottage is tucked off the road and very private with many outdoor sitting areas. Inside is so eclectic with so many paintings to look at that the host Rena has painted. Furnishings are comfortable and we especially liked the sunroom to relax and read. Towels were fluffy and plentiful! Rena was very responsive during the booking process. We will definitely return in the future when we want a little getaway!

Magical!

This cottage is absolutely beautiful and the hosts go above and beyond to make their guests comfortable. There are three separate outdoor seating areas while the indoors includes a living room with TV and a piano, a sunroom with comfy sofa and a computer, and an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a Keurig coffeemaker with pods, a French press, and a Cuisinart coffee maker, as well as a coffee grinder. The beds are made up with silky soft, 100% cotton, Biltmore sheets. The towels are plentiful and also thick and plush. There are even boxes of ear plugs in the night stands, extra toothbrushes in the bathroom, games, cards, a lovely coloring book and crayons, and so many other wonderful, welcoming touches. Our hosts even left us a small basket of snacks and wine. The cottage is decorated in an eclectic style that provides something interesting to see on every wall and in every corner. The yard is fenced, ideal for dogs and children, and is planted with a delightful variety of flowers and shrubs. My husband and I and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. My husband did want me to mention that the TV was somewhat confusing to operate, but then we are aging Boomers, so…

Growing up at Wrightsville beach I have a love for the natural beauty of this area and show that in my artwork. I am an oil painter by profession and have work in several galleries. Maebel’s cottage - that I have just listed - has been the home for me and my daughter, Maebel, since she was born and we cherish our many happy memories there of riding bikes to the sweet little library, walking to the waterfront to feed the seagulls and look for shells, climbing trees, building fairy gardens and taking in the friendly community events. We’ve done it all and loved every minute. We are sad to leave it but I hope you will get to enjoy it too.

Our cottage is perfectly situated for pets to enjoy a safe and quiet yard. That was the reason I bought it 17 years ago. It is set back off of a quiet street with wooded lots on either side affording tons of privacy and safety in a natural setting. Lots of wildlife call this place home as well.

If you enjoy being able to retreat from activities into serenity and peace you will love our cottage. While it is only steps away from the downtown businesses you can feel secluded once you are back on the front porch.
