Great stay! Check in was easy, the apartment was lovely and had everything I needed, and Alison was very helpful and friendly. Neighborhood was beautiful and walkable.

What a joyful apartment, especially for book lovers. We had a wonderful stay, enjoyed the host's personal touches and detailed information, and loved the proximity to neighborhood amenities. This was one of our favourite VRBOs that we have ever rented. Thank you, Alison!

We had a lovely stay in Uptown Minneapolis. Alison's place was comfortable and well-stocked. We visited during one of the hottest weeks of the year to help our son move apartments and the two split duct air conditioners were easily able to keep us cool in our downtime. We had a great stay and would rebook in a heartbeat.

Great choice

It is hard to imagine a better location if you want both quiet/privacy and walking access to the most vibrant parts of town. Alison is a great host, and the unit was clean, light and spacious. I intend to stay here in any future trips to Minneapolis

Easy walk to Lake Bde Maka Ska

The Uptown Mpls apartment was charming, cozy, and very clean with easy off-street parking. The apartment is in a walkable neighborhood close to the lake, and there are a coffee shops, restaurants, and a bookstore nearby. The host was communicative and helpful. She checked with us several times to see if there was anything we needed and provided lots of information about the area. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect stay

We really enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave! The place had all of the mentioned amenities plus more. We loved all of the books and games. The bed was super comfortable. It was nice to have designated parking and the neighborhood was very walkable to nearby restaurants and parks. Our host Alison was quick to respond to our questions, and was kind and friendly. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Ideal location and welcoming host

This home base for a visit back to the cities was ideal. Walking distance to Bde Make Ska, uptown shops and eateries, and more. Alison was available for the couple questions I had and I got to meet her and her sweet pup working in the garden.The apartment was fully outfitted with all I needed, including perfectly midwestern cheese and crackers for my arrival. The bed was super comfortable!I would happily book Alison's apartment again.

Retreat

Came for a yoga training at Devanadi and this was perfect! A warm, homey, beautiful place to absorb it all. A walk to the lake for sunset and then into town for dinner - a great way to end the day! Alison had great recommendations- I tried as many as I could “) A warm welcome - everything I could need and amazing places to visit - I loved it all!

Really Nice Twin Cities Lodging

Very nice lodging in a pretty residential neighborhood. Easy walk to the Lakes, and easy travel to all the attractions that the Twin Cities have to offer. We enjoyed walking around Lake Calhoun, and lounging on the shore, and a meal at the Tin Fish. There are many good restaurants in walking distance. The Owner went out of her way to make us welcome in several ways including fresh tomatoes from the garden! We hope to return in the future. So much more comfortable than a motel-hotel, and so convenient to the places we wanted to see.

Pleasant apartment for a week’s stay

This is a pleasant apartment for a week’s stay. The location was highly convenient with nearby access to a wonderful grocery store (Lunds), a great bakery (Black Walnut), wonderful restaurants, and glorious walks around neighboring lakes). We had our own off street parking spot. The hostess was very gracious. The apartment was well heated. It had sufficient room. We plan to check first to see if this apartment is available whenever we return to Minneapolis.

This apartment is fabulous. It’s just 15 mins from the airport in a tree-lined quiet neighborhood, all within a couple of easy, pretty blocks to great food, entertainment, and a rocking bookstore. It’s beautiful, and beautifully situated. The apartment is just as pictured, but cozier and better equipped than pictures can convey. It was spotlessly clean, and everything worked seamlessly. During my 2 week visit I needed AC and heat - and both were quick and effective. Everything was smooth, from the way the locks operate (no fiddling or “stickiness,” which makes me crazy) to the ease of using the TV, the stove, and the mini-splits. It is all simple, clear, functional, and very fresh and pretty. It’s a lovely, super-comfortable space. I’d stay there again for a short or long stay in a heartbeat.

Alison’s little apartment is simply delightful. It is so cozy and comfortable with many thoughtful touches that make it feel like home. Alison is a very responsive and generous host with great communication. We simply loved our time there.

Great full time summer rental

My parents stayed for 3 months at Alison's property this summer. It was comfortable and in a good location in Uptown. Alison was a great host and even shared some of her garden vegetables with them. They will be staying again next summer.

cute quiet place

Quiet neighborhood, easy to walk to eats, shopping. owner was responsive to questions is txt-VRBO was more of a problem since they didn't recognize my acct.. This is an older home but still exudes warmth. Did not miss the TV,used the fast WiFi instead. I liked that different loose-leaf teas were provided. Liked the cheat sheets that were provided-clear & succinct and good starting point for explorations.

Sweet little get away

This property is such a sweet little place! Walkable to restaurants, yoga, massage and the lakes. I loved Alisons books all around and the sweet poems and sayings on the walls. Quiet and quaint I highly recommend staying here!

Cozy and quiet while still close to town

Getting into the apartment the first time was a little confusing but Alison's great instructions were incredibly valuable. Watch out for ice at the entry door in winter! Overall, strongly recommend staying in this charming apartment if you're coming to Minneapolis.

Family Visit

Great location for us to visit friends and family. Originally from the twin cities so we were familiar with the area. Nice comfortable older home just 5 blocks from an apartment we rented in the 80's. Very good information package and appreciated the welcome wine and crackers. We will rent here again next time we need a place to stay in Minneapolis while visiting from North Carolina.

Cosy vintage apartment

Alison’s charming apartment had everything I needed: super comfortable bed, full kitchen, bathroom with a tub and shower that had a nice “rain shower” head, and a perfect location in Uptown relatively close to my son’s house. Yes, it’s an older home — with a separate entrance in the back of her house — but it was sparkling clean. And she thoughtfully provided some yummy cheddar cheese and a bottle of wine and apple juice for me to enjoy. I’d be delighted to stay again! Wonderful experience. Thanks, Alison.

Enjoyed my stay

Allison was a very kind and hospitable owner. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and homey and I had everything I needed to make my stay enjoyable. I was delighted to find myself in the space of a creative writer and enjoyed taking a look at some of her many books. The home was in a convenient location and within walking distance to restaurants and a market.

3 Stars - Winter Stay

positives: very responsive host, temperature control, dedicated parking, clean, full kitchen, Queen bed, nice appliances, plenty of towels/blankets/pillows, complimentary wine, cheese, & crackers and welcome card. Negatives: Exterior flood lights never came on. Hard to see to get key in door lock. The inside light located in hall outside of guest door was only on for first night. The dedicated parking area entrance and near the fence needed to be shoveled. The futon used as couch or for extra sleeping needs new mattress/cushion.

I'm so glad you had an excellent stay overall, especially in the snowiest and coldest February on record. It makes me sad to know that you had any negative issues, especially since I checked in so often. Had I only known, I could've hired extra help with snow shoveling (it's been endless snowfall!), replaced the flood light, and made sure the hall light was on all the time. My guests' comfort is my top priority.
