Great place to stay

We stayed at Rustic Lake Cabins for a quick family getaway!! It was very peaceful, quiet and relaxing!! We enjoyed s’mores at the firepit. Also enjoyed the scenery with lots of different wildlife. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Amazing Stay

Perfect getaway for a large group. The cabins were comfortable and clean with all of the amenities. The yard and close access to lake were also a bonus.

Family Weekend Getaway

This cabin was so cute and everything we expected! We loved how much space our young children had to roam and explore. And on top of everything Anna was such an amazing hostess.

Great location

Loved our stay and the time away. It was great having space and not having too close of neighbors. The 2 houses was perfect for our 2 families vacationing together. It was close to everything we needed yet far enough away to be able to relax.

Perfect Spacious Getaway

Cabin was awesome, plenty of room and close to the lake. Enjoyed the outside area and hanging around the campfire. Everything was very clean and comfortable.

Quiet rustic getaway for our family vacay

The two cabins were perfect for our family vacay with our three adult children, their partners and our three grandchildren; perfect for our activities on Canyon Lake, Comal river and Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. Quiet multi acre lot full of trees and perfect for the two dogs…and separate cabin helped with privacy…outdoor areas were perfect and we loved our stay

Christmas Retreat

Great cabin for relaxing family getaway. Large property with plenty of available activities. Close proximity to many day trips to Texas towns & San Antonio. We'd stay again. *upgrades on cookware & kitchen utensils, measuring cups/spoons is recommended.

Cozy Vacation Rental

Great property! We stayed so we could be close to the venue for our daughter’s wedding. There was ample room for the bridesmaids to stay with us. The home is very rustic and quaint. also very close to the lake so we spent the rest of the weekend on the water relaxing.

We love the whole thing. It was all what we expected.

This trip was for mine and my husband birthday and we had a blast not having people around and relaxing. And have time alone with my honey. we will be coming back but for longer next time.

We loved our stay! The Host was amazing! She was ready to answer any questions we had! Brought us over wasp spray at the drop of a hat. She knew we had a full house and offered to bring some extra towels and extra coffee. We will be back!

Great fun

This is an adorable cabin. The two cabins are perfect, clean and comfortable. The property is fabulous. We especially loved the porch swings. It was too hot for the hot tub and the fire pit, but we loved sitting outside at night looking at the stars. We saw deer, foxes, and armadillo. It was perfect!!

Winter Family Vacation

My family and I came here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and to get a little downtime before the holidays. The house and grounds are great! It was clean with plenty to do and I especially loved the added Christmas decorations. The house was well stocked and cute and cozy. The handheld shower in the closet tub took a bit of getting used to but we managed to fine. It’s close to a lot of fun hill country adventures and there is a state park a half a mile away. Anna was great to work with and friendly. I would highly recommend this location!

Slight attention needed.

The property itself is great! it was cozy and relaxing. there was dirty dishes put up and trash in and around the property that was not picked up which was not a big deal, we picked it up. The pull out mattress in the living room from the sofa on the other hand is horrible It is worn out and all the framed pushes up against your body and the same thing with other smaller futon. the hot tub wouldn't get hot even after looking up instructions online and messing with it for over an hour. We didn't get to enjoy it after all. the ice maker didn't work and the Wi-Fi would not work all the time. But the cabin and atmosphere are worth overlooking that stuff. Thanks!

Great location, Ample outdoor room

The property is located closer to Canyon Lake than any other property we found. Indoors were nice and mostly as described. There is a multitude of outdoor seating areas and grilling area and pets would love this place. The cooling inside was way better than the listing suggests. Outdoors are so nicely wooded that we were able to spend a lot of time outside on an otherwise hot summer evening and saw deer and some interesting reptiles we spent a lot of time watching. The hot tub button did not work and eventually talked to the manager and was guided to the controls that got things working. The access key could use some more detailed instructions on which one to use (there were two keying areas on each entry) and it needed multiple tries to get unlocked since it was sensitive to the timing (the manager helped over the phone). Overall, our group of 3 families and dog had an amazing time at this property. This has nothing to do with the property but we meant to go to Paddle Canyon Lake but the lot filled up fast and were diverted to the main Canyon Lake Beach area which was a less than ideal beach.

Pretty Good

Rented for the weekend for a kids back to school/end of summer thing. The property is, as described, very rustic...doors don't shut well (as in you can't get the front door to lock because the door won't shut without the force of a linebacker) and the fridge took overnight to cool down food. The house did stay cool even in very hot weather. Most everything you need to cook with but bring ice. No ice maker and only two ice trays in the freezer when we got there. Be mindful that there is only one sink/shower/bath in each cabin. There are two toilets in the main cabin. Although you can technically sleep 8 in the main cabin....they are all going to share one shower. The rest of the story...after checking out i was contacted, rudely, by the owner and property manager (which they aren't supposed to do) about the "disgusting" way the property was left. Mind you, these are 12-16 year old kids and someone spilled a soda bottle in a storage bin that contained extra linen. They complained about having to sweep a few broken chips off the floor and a torn shower curtain. Threatened to have me banned from Evolve and banned from any of their owned properties. Two minor accidents and they are ready to burn you to the ground.

Hi John, we always appreciate hearing from our guests, but the homeowner would like to take a moment to clarify a few things raised in your review: - As mentioned, this is a rustic cabin, and while the doors might need a slight nudge to close all the way, they work perfectly well and have not been an issue for other guests. - Any fridge would take a few hours to cool down food if a large amount of room-temperature food was placed in it simultaneously. - We advertise on our listing that the cabin cannot cool more than 25 degrees lower than the outdoor temperature in the summertime, but apologize if you were not completely comfortable. - The home is exactly as-advertised in our listing as we want all of our guests to find the perfect vacation home for their needs. - Unfortunately, significant damage was done to the home during this stay that required more labor than normal to clean, replace damaged items, and repair damaged doors and outdoor furniture in order to get it back to our high standards. While we want our guests to enjoy their stay here, we also need them to respect our house rules and treat the property as their own. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
