Reviewer Comments: we rented 4 units and this was one of them. our family was all in maui for thanksgiving week so it was all very accommodating for us. the pool although not big was perfect size for our kids to have lots of fun. the ocean just steps away was also good and felt safe to have the kids play in becasue of the double reef protection. lots of turtles and beautiful view. very intimate place would definitely stay here on this property again.

The location of the unit was perfect - close enough to dining, shopping, etc. yet far enough away from bustling tourism. Certainly, the view was spectacular - both whales and sea turtles in abundance. The unit itself was clean and well stocked. Although fine, the unit could use some updating - especially in the kitchen and bathroom.

It’s a great place to get to know your neighbor. The pool area is where we got to meet some great people from all over the US.

Furniture is badly out dated, carpet as well, recliner broken, exhaust fan broken etc. Dishes, plates, utensils all need replaced. Will book again if fixed up.

It was a little dated, especially the bathroom, which totally needs to be remodeled. We met the neighbor next door, the owners, next time we will stay in their unit. It’s updated and very nice. This was our first stay in Room 113. The view is spectacular. Sitting on the lanai watching the sunset is probably our favorite thing. The place was clean, had a good bed, and a good tv. It is carpeted, which is kind of unusual, but felt good on our barefeet! It could use a few updates, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, but was very comfortable. Snorkle gear being provided was nice! There is a little construction going on around the grounds, but nothing that distracted us. It is a little hard to get to the beach right now--big waves and on one side the beach is missing. I think that happens at certain times of the year. We love the smaller feel of this place versus a big resort and you just can't beat the view (you can see turtles and whales every day)! We will be back!

Reviewer Comments: First impressions...met lovely neighbors in the parking area who helped direct us to our clean and tidy condo with a close-up and beautiful view of the ocean. We watched whales every morning we were there, right from the patio while having our coffee. We loved the area, as well, because restaurants and grocery store were within walking distance. The bed was comfortable (a requirement in any good review) and the kitchen was small, but adequate. We usually stay in the Kihei area, but this trip tried something new. Would we stay here again? Yes!

We slept on the convertible sofa in the living room to the sound of the waves though it was a bit uncomfortable. The only odd thing was that we were asked to put our dishes in the dishwasher and take out our garbage. You would think that would be covered in the $100 cleaning charge!

A wonderful stay at the Kulakane

I am happy to be living in paradise and I live on the property that I manage. When guests book any of our condos, I will be here to greet you personally. I am a mother of 2, grandmother of 7 and Great grandmother of 2 and I adore my family! I encourage them to come see me as often as possible as they all live on the main land. What a place to come visit Grammie and Grandpa, right?

There are so many little shops and restaurants within walking distance of the condos. There are also food trucks just down the street from here across from the Times Supermarket, which is less than a mile from the condos. Guests go get their take out food and come back and eat on their lanai's and watch for turtles. Honokowai is a very nice little neighborhood between Ka'anapali and Kahana.

We are a small 42 condo complex directly ocean front. Every condo has the same amazing view. You can see Honu (sea turtles) in the surf out front every day and during the whale season, you can watch those play all day as well. We have a Pupu (appetizers, potluck style) party every Friday night at sunset. Hawaiian tradition is to blow the conch shells at sunset every evening to each point on the compass. We do that every evening. It's a very friendly homey kind of place that I think you'll love.
