Sunsets over Menomin is a 4-bedroom lakefront vacation home on Lake Menomin in Menomonie, Wisconsin, just minutes from UW-Stout, downtown Menomonie, restaurants, shopping, and local trails. The elevated setting offers wide lake views and memorable sunsets, with an all-season sunroom and deck overlooking the water.



Designed for up to 7 guests, the home features a spacious kitchen and living area, two lake-view fire pits, one gas and one wood, and a private seasonal dock. The Lake Menomin biking and walking loop borders the neighborhood, with convenient access to Lake Menomin Park, the Red Cedar State Trail, Hoffman Hills, and year-round outdoor recreation.



Inside the Home



The spacious main-floor living area has comfortable seating, large windows, and plenty of natural light. A Roku TV provides access to streaming services.



The renovated kitchen includes granite and porcelain countertops, custom cabinetry, stainless-steel appliances, a hidden induction cooktop, and the cookware and tools needed to prepare meals. The dining table seats 6, and a gas fireplace creates a cozy setting for meals and evenings together.



Just off the dining area, the all-season sunroom provides another comfortable place to gather, relax with a drink, or enjoy views of Lake Menomin.



French doors from the kitchen lead to a large deck overlooking the lake. Grill and dine outside, enjoy your morning coffee, or take in the scenery and sunsets.



🔥 Outdoor Living & Lake Views



The yard includes two fire pits overlooking Lake Menomin: one gas fire pit and one large sunken wood-burning fire pit.



A private dock is available approximately June through September, weather and water conditions permitting, for fishing or docking a boat.



The home's elevated position creates beautiful lake and sunset views. Lake access requires approximately 130 steps, so guests with mobility limitations should consider this before booking.



🚲 Recreation & Location



Although the home feels tucked into a peaceful lake setting, it is only minutes from downtown Menomonie and UW-Stout.



The Lake Menomin biking and walking loop borders the neighborhood, and Lake Menomin Park is nearby for hiking and mountain biking. The Red Cedar State Trail and Hoffman Hills offer additional opportunities for biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.



🛏️ Bedrooms & Sleeping Arrangements



All four bedrooms are located on the second floor of the home.



Primary Bedroom: King bed, lake views, dresser and guest storage. The renovated ensuite bathroom includes heated tile floors, double sinks, and a walk-in tile shower.



Bedroom 2: Queen bed and dresser.



Bedroom 3: Full-size bed and dresser.



Bedroom 4: Queen bed, dresser, and built-in desk/workspace.



There is a second full bathroom on the second floor with a tub/shower combination and heated floors. A half bathroom is located on the main floor.



Maximum occupancy is 7 guests.



Important Things to Know Before Booking



This is our family's personal Wisconsin home, which we share with guests while we are traveling. We are experienced professional hosts with multiple vacation rentals and work hard to provide the amenities and hospitality guests expect while maintaining the character of a real home.



Because this is also our home and is located in a residential neighborhood, parties and excessive noise are not permitted. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am.



Some areas are not available to guests, including the basement, garage, and most bedroom closets. Dressers are provided for clothing storage, and clothing racks can be provided with advance notice. The primary bedroom also has a guest-use closet.



Lake access requires approximately 130 steps. The home's elevated position provides beautiful views of Lake Menomin, but guests with mobility limitations may find accessing the waterfront difficult.



Stone steps without a railing lead down to the sunken wood-burning fire pit in the backyard.



Lake Menomin can experience reduced water quality during the summer months. Guests planning to swim or fish should be aware of seasonal lake conditions.



Central heating and air conditioning serve the first floor. Each second-floor bedroom has a window air-conditioning unit during the summer months. Bedrooms are heated with electric baseboard heat, and the second-floor bathrooms have in-floor heat.



A signed Rental Agreement, photo ID, and credit card for a $500 security-deposit hold are required within 24 hours of booking to confirm the reservation. Access to the home will not be provided until the required items have been received. Please review the full house rules before booking.



🐾 No Pets



Pets are not permitted at Sunsets over Menomin. Undisclosed pets will result in a $300 pet/extra-cleaning fee.



Service animals trained to perform a task for a person with a disability are welcome in accordance with applicable requirements. Service animals must remain under their handler's control and may not be left unattended at the property.



Cameras & Monitoring



For safety and property protection, exterior cameras include a Ring doorbell and Blink cameras covering the driveway, lake-stair area, and backyard/fire-pit areas. These exterior cameras record audio and video.



Guest Access



Guests have access to the first and second floors of the home. The basement and garage are not available for guest use.



Most bedroom closets and one first-floor owner's closet are locked for personal storage. Dressers are provided in each bedroom, the primary bedroom has a guest-use closet, and clothing racks can be requested with advance notice.
