Enjoy lake life at its best with this charming cottage located on the peaceful shores of Pretty Lake!
Nestled on a quiet 184-acre fishing lake, this 2-bedroom, 1-bath retreat features an open floor plan that blends the living room and kitchen for easy entertaining. Step outside to a spacious patio with stunning lakefront views, a fire-pit area perfect for evening gatherings (pick up some wood from the local Trading Post), and direct access to your private aluminum dock. Swim in the water, fish from the dock or go kayaking (3 kayaks & paddles included) in the amazing crystal clear waters of Pretty Lake (https://prettylake.org). Pool noodles, life jackets, a charcoal grill, and a kids swing are all included. As an added bonus, ask the host if you're interested in renting a small sailboat (O'Day Sprite 10) or a pontoon for an additional fee.
Please note that due to being in a rural area, cell phone service is very poor. The best way to make and receive calls/texts at the property is by connecting to the Wi-Fi and enabling internet calling on your cellular device.
If you'd like to explore the nearby area, there are many nature preserves and natural areas nearby, including Maple Wood Nature Preserve, Pokagon State Park, and Chain O’ Lakes State Park, amongst others. In addition to enjoying the serene atmosphere of Pretty Lake (with a 10 mph speed limit), you can also take advantage of Big Long Lake's Public Access Launch (only a 2 min drive from the cottage), which is an all-sports lake. Cooking at the cottage is a breeze, but if you enjoy eating out there are several excellent local restaurants, including the family-friendly Shady Nook Inn Restaurant (a 5 min drive from the cottage).
This property is ideal for relaxing getaways with family and friends, and the hosts will allow up to an additional two guests (for 7 total maximum cottage guests), as long as you bring your own bed(s) and bedding for any additional guests beyond 5. Life is truly better at the lake; come and enjoy.

There are many nature preserves and natural areas nearby that we hike at, including Maple Wood Nature Preserve, Pokagon State Park, and Chain O’ Lakes State Park. We enjoy the serene atmosphere of Pretty Lake, and we also appreciate the close access (2 min drive) to the Big Long Lake Public Access Launch, which is an all-sports lake. Cooking at the cottage is a breeze, but we also like eating out at the local Shady Nook Inn Restaurant (a 5 min drive from the cottage).

We hope you enjoy evening conversations by the fire, the three complimentary kayaks, and jumping off the dock as much as we do. We are also avid sailers and have one of the only sailboats (available to rent for an additional fee) on the lake!
