This place is wonderful!! It’s beautiful, well-equipped and the bed is comfortable. The location is walking distance to downtown yet far enough to be away from the noise.

Great stay

Had a really great stay at Hotel Julie (Flat 6 Hot Tamale). The room is nicely designed and has a lot of nice touches. The hotel itself is a few minutes walk away from the main downtown area but very accessible and nice to be away from the main area after a night out. The only downside is that the bathrooms are a tiny bit small and there's no counter space to put toiletries/toothbrushes/makeup/etc. (there are tables just outside the bathroom that are useful). Otherwise a great stay - they are responsive and instructions very easy to follow. Thanks!

It was nice but other guests were loud

The guests next to us were getting married, and they were using their flat as the bridal suite, so people (bridesmaids, photographer, etc) came stomping in at 7am up and down an the stairs and speaking loudly in the hallway and outside our door. It woke us up and the noise continued for hours. I would not recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet morning since they do allow people to host guests like that so early.

Beautilful and maybe not 100 functional

What a beautiful place. We oved having someone meet us and carry our bags. The room was clean and lovely. The coffee was good and the sheets and towels were so soft. One thing was in the washroom, we feel it needed a shelf for the toothpaste or to hold our cosmetics and the shower had no hot water :( But we will be recommending to others! Thank you for the great service!

Very small, very nice, boutique flats hotel.

Stayed there for three nights recently visiting Stratford Festival. Great location, across the Avon, just 10 minutes from downtown Stratford. Nice residential neighborhood, quiet. The flat is very nice, nicely decorated and refurbished. full kitchen amenities, nice bath/shower, totally redone Very clean.. very comfortable.and quiet. Would return.

Walk away from great restaurants. Beautiful aesthetic but the mattress in our room was sunken in and did not meet typical hotel quality. Also, because it is an older building, it had a particular smell to it.

Our stay in flats 2,3 and 6

Hi, some friends and I just spent a few days in Stratford and stayed in flats 2, 3 and 6 at the Hotel Julie. We have mixed feedback, so I would rather share with you directly than put it on a public forum. I think you are on a good track with the hotel and don’t want to deter others. The first thing that struck us was the décor of the rooms, which is delightful. However, it quickly became clear that the rooms are not as functional as they could be. The things that detracted from our enjoyment of the rooms are very easy to fix, which is why I’m taking the time to share them with you. The main issue is lack of storage. In all flats, there is no hanging storage other than a couple of hooks -- nowhere to hang clothes and no extra hangers to hang the clothes we arrived in. Flat 6 has a very generous hanging closet, but there is no rail and no shelves, which renders it useless other than as a place to put shoes. Flat 3 also has a closet where a hanging rail could be installed. In Flat 6, there was no dresser or drawers of any type to unpack our folded clothing and other items. In the bathroom, there is no room for toiletries and small appliances. So, we had to drape our hanging clothing over the chairs and put our toiletries on the dining table and live out of our suitcase. This meant that the flat was a mess for the duration of our stay. This would be very simple to resolve, by putting up a hanging rail in the closet, equipped with a few extra hangers, and adding a small dresser anywhere in the room. The kitchens are a real plus and are set up very well with nice cookbooks inviting us to make things, except that there is not enough equipment (pots, pans, baking sheets) to make a meal. This was not a problem for us, but our friend in Flat 3 had a lovely big kitchen and would have taken advantage of the kitchen to cook a meal. The coffee was great. Lastly, we went out for dinner one evening and when we returned there was no place for us to park because the other patrons had spaced their cars out too generously so fewer cars could fit in the space. The easy solution for this would be to paint some lines delineating the parking spaces. Please accept this feedback in the positive spirit in which it’s intended. Hotel Julie is a lovely niche hotel and we want you to succeed, but we paid quite a bit of money for the rooms and did not enjoy them. With a few minor changes, this could be a different story.

we stayed at the hotel as part of an anniversary trip. The communication re: check in and parking was seamless. The flat was beautiful and uniquely decorated. Everything that was needed to prepare our own breakfasts was in the suite. A suggestion would be an extra chair or or a small loveseat instead in the living area as due to the placement of the television, two people could not see it from the bed. This was just a small inconvenience. It was a further walk to the theatre than anticipated. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to couples looking for a great getaway who are looking for something other than a typical hotel room.

The room was well appointment but was marred byb2 things: the AC dripped water on the bed, soaking the headboard and pillows and 2 the closet is missing a hangar rod! There was nowhere to hang clothing!

August 1-2 Stay

Great service. Appreciated the accommodation to access the room in advance of 4PM check-in. All amenities were provided and functioning well. Clean room and fully equipped with all kinds of supplies. Appreciated the complimentary soap and water bottle bottles too. Well decorated. Clear instructions via signage or emails. Was able to sleep through the night with no issue. Only point of improvement would be to add slippers.
