The perfect getaway location

Good evening- this is our 6th or 7th time staying at Debordieu. Unfortunately, we had some more issues than previous years. The internet only worked 50% or less of the time. The remote to the main living room did not work and the fan broke on the deck.

Ocean Anchor - great stay!

Great location, very nice upper level condo and a beautiful view! helped that the weather was perfect! Missed that we could have rented a golf cart - that would have been nice. And, would be nice to have a few bikes. Dinner at the Beach Club was very good. We had a great time!

Fun in the sun

Some complications with the elevator upon arrival. Service men were quick to come but could not remedy the situation. However they were very gracious to help us unload and get upstairs and very pleasant. Elevator people came on Monday and solved the problem right away. Being older it was a challenge for the weekend but it turned out to be a wonderful week and we reserved for next year. See you then.

Location is great. Common areas are generally in good condition. Amenities such as pool and beach access, are outstanding. Parking is a bit limited. Thankfully, Ocean Anchor has a elevator. Would not re-rent if it didn't. Ocean Anchor's interior varies. In general, the unit needs to be lightened up-too dark. Primary bedroom and living room furniture need updating. Our family felt they needed to cover living room furniture with sheets. Regarding cleanliness - occupants felt they needed to clean just about everything. Living room seating is nauseating. Various tables were dusty. We have elected to re-rent next year because of specific location and with hopes that conditions will improve.

Elevator issues - not resolved No internet or cable, and as always no cell phone service on beach, so it was a safety issue. A family member got the internet and cable working but it kept going out because of an overheating/installation issue. We were supposed to be able to put golf cart in front of car, but it totally blocked the stairs to the unit on second level so did not even attempt to use it. I am so glad we had another house to stay in!

Beautiful accommodations! Met all our needs and we have booked for next year! Our only disappointment was that due to painting all our windows were covered with plastic and we had no view which we were looking forward to from our upper unit. But no painting was being done in the back!! We asked and the big window was uncovered Wednesday early afternoon. Then painters came and put it back up Thursday morning. They did paint but left it up and did not come back. Still up when we left Saturday. We were aware there was work to be done that week but had NO idea our view would be hidden.

PROBLEMS WITH RENTAL AGENCY

We never received an email confirmation for our on-line reservation. We realized this the day before driving 12 hours with a newborn child, initially uncertain if our reservation (paid for on-line) would be honored, or if we would have a place to stay. After several calls to the answered service, this was resolved, but in an uncourteous manner. We have been staying at Debordieu over thirty years, and have never treated this way previously.

Good morning, This was our 6th year at Debordieu and our first year at Ocean anchor. We enjoy the townhomes in this area, but were disappointed to find out when we arrived that the townhomes were being repainted. The painters arrived each day at 0730 and were using loud equipment and climbing all around our deck and windows. In addition, with the changes to the club fees, we expected more from the club. The bar service on the 4th was lacking and the food service and quality seems to have taken a step backwards from previous years. Regards, Tim Koprowski

Upon arrival, we found crumbs on the nightstand in one of the bedrooms, crumbs and/or mold around the kitchen sink area, and the toilet seat in the master bathroom was broken. Also, there was a strawberry stuck to the kitchen floor that could not be removed. There were cobwebs going from the corners to the ceiling fans (that need dusting), and there was food stuck between the cushions of the sofa (Goldfish crackers). The exhaust fans in the bathrooms are full of dust. Basically, the unit needs a thorough cleaning. I called about some of the items, and the toilet seat was promptly replaced.

Fun Week at Debordieu

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ocean Anchor. The covered porch was the best part of all. Please leave it open air forever. The kitchen was well stocked and the rooms were spacious. The easy access to the pool and beach made the week even better. I have some minor negative feedback regarding the unit. First, it is very unclear how the carport space below is shared between the two units. We had multiple bikes and chairs and did not know exactly where to put our things without infringing on the next door neighbor's property. Also, the shower head placement in the loft bathroom is not able to accommodate adults with any height. On a more general note, the cleaning done prior to arrival was subpar at best. The bathrooms still had hair from the previous guests and their was considerable amount of mold on the shower curtains and shower/bathtub floors. It was obvious that no dusting had been done in quite some time as well. Shower liners need to be replaced at the minimum. A deep cleaning would be very helpful as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit, and I would stay there again!

Our stay at Debordieu was enjoyable but there were two main problems during our week. As I mentioned last year as well, the house was not clean upon our arrival. Specifically, the bathrooms still had hair in the tubs and on the floors. There was dust on all the furniture and the tile floors throughout the main living areas were very dirty. The other problem this week which was a much bigger issue was the fact that all of the windows were covered in plastic. We could not look out at the ocean view that we paid for. We had received notice that painting may be occurring during our stay and we were very patient about removing the plastic thinking that the painters would return. On our fourth day, there were still no painters so we took off the plastic on the sliding doors in the den and called the office to have the rest removed. Some of the plastic was removed and we finally removed the rest on Thursday- day 6 of our stay. The painters did begin work on Thursday but it did not require plastic. Painting during the busiest rental season seems like a poor decision to begin with but not following thru to make sure that the painters work as the email stated seems irresponsible. We paid a premium to be oceanfront and we could not see the ocean only because the painters did not remove the plastic when they were finished. I was told by the office that the person who I should speak with about this would return on Friday and would be told of our issue. I did not receive a follow up email or call concerning this inconvenience. Furthermore , the changes in the pool usage price and the deposit process for the next year have made our family begin to consider going elsewhere for vacation after coming to Debordieu for the past 34 years. On a positive note, the open covered porch is a real plus for this house and the proximity to the beach is excellent. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with someone about the paint plastic issue.

Great location! Very clean. Coffee Maker had a small leak. Master Bedroom bed had a very, very firm mattress Needed a few more trash bags. A little weird, the housekeeper was sitting in the parking lot waiting for us to leave at exactly check-out time. Felt a little rushed by this.

Sisters Weekend

Ocean Anchor was the perfect place for me and my sisters to spend a weekend together. The condo was clean and the beds were comfortable. The veiw from the balcony was wonderful for watching sunrises and watching the moon rise as well. We ate meals out on the porch as the weather was perfect. You can tell the condo has age because the grout was in bad shape in some places. But the appliances were great and like I said before it was very clean. So the grout looking bad was not an issue for us. The elevator is a big plus because there are 29 steps to get up the the top floor condo! We got there late and couldn't get the elevator to work so we carried eveything up the steps which was tough! But the next morning we figured out how to use the elevator with a little help! So the rest of the time it was awesome. The TV in one bedroom needed to have a new cable. But if we wiggled it we could make it work. I would rent this condo again for sure!

Week stay

Very good rental with great reviews. Multiple lights out in unit which was a bother. One in entry foyer, one overhead can spotlight in living above mantle and a table lamp in dining room on side table. Brighter bulbs would help over small dining room fixture. Also, good bit of sand was in laundry sink when we arrived. Better dusting needed of mantel and bottom shelf of living room tv console... hasn't been dusted in a while. Drapes in living room are broken for retracting and closing. Screen door is ripped which lets in bulbs. Love the location and will be back to beach villas!
