Om værten
Vært: Ember

We are your hosts. Stacey and Ember (husband and wife). You will mostly talk with me (Ember) as Stacey isn't a computer guy. We both love Vermont and history and are excited to share our historical farm with you! Stacey's dad was a career military man. Serving many years in the Army before retiring in 1976. Stacey was born at Forte Orde in California, while his Dad was serving in Vietnam. Stacey is the eighth of nine children born to his parents and he spent his first decade traveling with them from Army base to Army base.
I was born and raised in the neighboring town of Walden. The twelfth of thirteen children. My family were dairy farmers, loggers, maple syrup makers, twelfth generation Vermonters and owner/operators of the local lumber mill. The lumber mill is where Stacey and I first met as children. We connected as high school sweethearts in 1982. I graduated on a Friday evening in June 1984 and we were married the following week on Saturday. We have been together ever since and have one son and two grandsons together.

We didn't really choose this neighborhood, it was chosen long before us. You see the property that we call Hubbard Boyle Way today has been in the Hubbard family (Stacey's mothers family) for many generations. We were fortunate enough to be able to purchase it from her estate when she passed away. We are beyond thrilled to have our time to leave our mark on it's ownership and share it's rich family and farm history with you all.
This is not something we thought about prior to her passing as being on the younger end of the family we never imagined that one of the older siblings wouldn't take on that role. BUT here we are! We so appreciate you all being interested in helping us keep the farm and it's history preserved for at least one generation. Our hope is that it will be for many more generations.

Derfor er dette overnatningssted unikt
There are so many things that make Hubbard Boyle Way unique. As I say in the opening of this site it is an AUTHENTIC Vermont farmhouse. It was built in 1856 and many things have stayed the same. Much of the wooden furniture in the home is from at least Mother Boyles grandparents. As time allows we are adding more historical photos and momentos of the family history and that of the farm and to a degree the town of Danville, itself. The barn will hold some prerequisite short term guest items (foosball, ping pong and pool tables) but it will also offer a self-guided "museum" tour of the barn, equiptment, tools etc. So you can emerse yourself (at least mentally) into the day of a Vermont dairy farmer prior to bulk milk tanks and big tractors. There is also 70 acres of field and forests that we have put in walking trails for you to enjoy all of it. We will have signage to point out the native plants and trees along them. Eventually, the signs will include not just the name of the plant/tree but also it's signifigance in the evolution of Vermont. We plan to reintroduce some native trees and shrubs that died off over the years. For example the American Chestnut that was once the top timber tree for Vermont but almost 100 percent succumbed to the Chestnut Blight in the 1930's in all of the Northeastern US. All of this will take time (and money) so we are so gald to have you along for the journey.
