Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry your stay didn’t meet expectations. We take all guest concerns seriously and have already addressed the issues that you experienced — including the toilet seal, electrical circuit, and kitchen gas supply — as soon as they were reported. The bee activity (certainly not a 'swarm' but I appreciate it might be disturbing for allergy sufferers) was due to an unusual dry spell, and we managed it quickly using natural repellents and water redirection. While we strive to maintain high standards, our villa is located in a tropical coastal environment where humidity, salt air, and hard water create unique maintenance challenges not often seen in mainland settings. That said, we’re always working to improve and respond promptly. At around $350 per night for the entire villa, we believe we offer excellent value — with way more space and privacy than a single hotel room at a similar rate. We appreciate your comments and hope to offer a much-improved stay in the future.

Hi Chris Thank you for the review. sorry that the weather was kind of breezy during your vist. As luck would have it the wind dropped the day after you left. Also sorry that the pool speakers were out. The parts to fix them have now arrived so that will be remedied very shortly. I agree that it can sometimes be a bit of a faff getting in and out of the driveway and I'm glad you didn't mind our doggies too much. A note to potential renters: If you do like dogs ours are super nice and friendly and will interact with you as often or as little as you like. If you don't like dogs it's possible you would be happier somewhere else. Once again, thanks for your comments and we hope to see you again.

We are very sorry that this visitor had an unsatisfactory experience at Bentley Villa. An unhappy guest is obviously the last thing we want and we did our best but ultimately we were fighting an uphill battle after the first night. St Kitts is generally a safe and peaceful place but is relatively poor compared to the US and Canada and of course has its share of societal issues. For this reason we ask guests to ensure that windows and doors are locked at night and not to place valuables near windows. Obviously we would much prefer it if these precautions were not necessary but regrettably they are needed here as they are almost everywhere else in the world. Unfortunately this guest, having disregarded our regular check in time by arriving two hours early, also ignored our clearly written security instructions by leaving a laptop and wallet next to an unlatched window before retiring. Whilst the subsequent burglary was undoubtedly distressing, it might be regarded as almost inevitable given this level of negligence. I sincerely hope she is able to make a successful insurance claim. As far as the other criticisms are concerned, I suspect that they are colored somewhat by the first night's experience, which is understandable if a little unfair. I did offer a refund if she wanted to move somewhere else but the offer was not taken up. I will also say that as for any booking I did attend immediately to all the problems mentioned. I replaced the TV with a brand new and better one. The dishwasher (which was not broken but blocked by a food item from improper use) and refrigerator were both fixed within 3 hours. I would have been glad to provide a broom and/or vacuum (or a tutorial on the operation of the new TV) but was not asked. Our appliances and fittings are not brand new but are modern, functional and regularly maintained. Our pricing is commensurate with other local villas and extremely competitive when compared to local hotel and resort rates. A large majority of our guests consider us a bargain given the location, space and amenities. Finally, I will agree that dog lovers will enjoy their stay here more than others. These guests had two charming young children who adored our dogs (yes they are friendly) and despite my best efforts kept letting them into the villa through the front door. They (dogs and kids) thought this was a hilarious game. Was this irritating for the grown ups? Perhaps. But "inappropriate"? I will let others judge
