Creekside Cottage at Saegertown

Saegertown is a charming, picture-perfect Pennsylvania borough nestled right along the banks of French Creek. I love that it perfectly captures that nostalgic, peaceful "small-town America" vibe while keeping you incredibly close to everything Crawford County has to offer.

The Natural Scene & Outdoor Adventures The crown jewel of the area is French Creek, one of the most ecologically diverse waterways in the country. It runs right past the neighborhood, and right behind our Creekside Cottage, making Saegertown an absolute paradise for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The surrounding landscape is a beautiful mix of rolling hills, lush greenery, and quiet, walkable streets where neighbors still wave from their front porches.
Local Flavor & Community Spirit What truly sets Saegertown apart is its local warmth. It’s home to beloved local staples like the historic Saegertown Inn and the legendary Saegertown Dairy Inn, where grabbing a soft-serve ice cream in the summer is a local ritual. The Factory restaurant is another favorite gathering place in Saegertown. The community has a rich history (dating back to its founding in 1824) that gives the entire area a proud, grounded character.
The Best of Both Worlds While Saegertown offers a quiet, slow-paced retreat where you can actually hear the crickets at night, it is remarkably convenient. You are only a quick 10-minute drive into downtown Meadville for local breweries, shopping, and dining, and an easy drive to the outdoor recreation at Woodcock Creek Lake or Conneaut Lake.

This is really one of my favorite properties. With three large bedrooms, it is a large house, and, yet, the decorator was able to make it feel like a cozy cabin. Sitting out there has a way of transporting me in vacation mode. Sitting on the deck overlooking beautiful French Creek, it is easy to forget that I am not that far from the city of Meadville.
Inside, the house is impressive. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed with a Dreamcloud mattress, and an en suite jetted tub and tiled shower, along with a 43 inch smart TV.
Bedroom one upstairs has a queen bed, a bunk bed with twin mattresses, and seating area.
Bedroom two upstairs has a queen bed and two twin beds tucked away in a nook that kids will love! It is like having their own secret (or at least it feels secret!) hideaway.
There is a huge, full-size eat-in kitchen--good for preparing a cozy meal for two to a giant feast for fifteen! A dining room is adjacent to the kitchen. The other side of the kitchen leads into a large livingroom, which has a cozy reading nook at one end, and two large sofas and two chairs at the other end, along with a very large television for your enjoyment. One of the sofas doubles as a queen-size bed.
The huge, park like back yard borders on French Creek, and a deck with a patio table provides a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the tranquility of nature. A custom-built set of stair, using existing tree roots and stones, leads down to the waters edge. A fire ring for campfires completes the outdoor space.
Have a seat on one of the park benches in the backyard, or swing in the hammock and read a book ... or play a round of cornhole on our custom cornhole boards constructed out of wormy chestnut. In addition, a gas grill awaits your barbecuing delights.
With all its lovely amenities, this beautiful property brings such a peaceful feeling to me when I am sitting out there. It is my hope that others can experience this same feeling!
