Adorable cottage and amazing location. Woke every morning to seals and heron. Super easy to launch and explore the inlet by paddle board or kayak.

What a magical treat!! I highly, highly recommend this fairy-tale cottage. The host was so kind, communicative, and generous. They made sure the space was well stocked, provided clear communication, and you could tell how enthusiastic they were for sharing this because space. I will absolutely be coming back to this cottage!

We had a lovely stay. Our dog loved climbing around the rocks and exploring the waters edge, and we loved relaxing and listening to the water, and watching the seals. The hot tub was such a treat! Rachel responded quickly to our questions. Would highly recommend!

Our host was very gracious. The cabin is so unique we throughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back. It was quiet and peaceful which was what we were looking for. The kitchen had everything we needed. The walk to the cabin is a little steep but worth it. An added bonus for us was the moon being almost full and it was reflecting off the water post card worthy.

This was such a fun place to stay, I would definitely recommend! The only thing not listed is that you cannot drive right up to the house and there is an extremely steep path to the cottage; therefore I would not recommend this for anyone with mobility issues- for us this wasn’t a problem and we loved the stay! We saw whales and many seals- so much fun !

Wow! What a magical cottage and location. Thanks for sharing Rachel! Our fairyland stay was too short. We already miss our newfound marine mammalian and mollusk friends.

Rachel was a fabulous host! The cottage was amazing, clean and soooo cozy. We enjoyed watching the eagles and seals play in front of us while we cooked on the bbq. Hot tub was clean and hot to relax in such a beautiful oasis. Bed was comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep. Woke up early for a coffee and hot tub before checking out. This is an amazing little place if you want seclusion and a romantic get away!!!! By far the best place we have ever experienced

Absolutely loved our stay at the Fairyland Cottage. It was peaceful, picturesque, and immaculately clean. The provided firewood and fireplace starter made evenings extra cozy. Everything was smooth and effortless. We’d happily return.

This cottage was absolutely magical, once of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The cottage itself was very warm and clean and cozy, and the land around it was stunning and so quiet and peaceful. We saw seals and an otter! I do wish there were clear written instructions for the fireplace and hot tub(we couldn't figure out how to turn it on), but other than that it was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend and hope to return!

I booked this enchanting cottage as a surprise, romantic get-a-way for my wife and I. It did not disappoint! Upon entering the gated driveway, we were immediately greeted by a family of deer... mama, and her 2 newborn fawns. As we proceeded down the long, meandering driveway to our designated parking spot, we encountered more wildlife... a bald eagle, rabbits, and a many small birds. The final leg of our trek down to the cottage was by walking path. When my wife first saw the cottage come into view, she was immediately, over the moon, excited! This one-of-a-kind, private, whimsical cottage, has all the modern comforts and conveniences of home, while oozing with fairytale-like charm and warmth! Nestled down on the shore of the Saanich Inlet, this tranquil, peaceful setting is the perfect retreat for nature-lovers and book-readers alike! The cottage was very clean, and had all the amenities of home. The hot tub was clean and ready for us to use. The host was very kind, responsive and accessible. Enjoyed watching the occasional boat go up and down the inlet. A very unique experience that my wife and I won't soon forget! A must stay!

Simply the best way to spend a weekend

This cottage is the most adorable thing you’ll ever see. I loved my time here. It is extremely private and quiet.

Without hyperbole, the most beautiful place I have ever stayed.Communication with the host Rachel wasn't great (didn't get check in instructions until 15 minutes before our booking was to begin, and the instructions asked us to give 30 minutes notice of arrival time) but Bruce, who met us at the home, was very kind and informative.The location is absolutely superb. Actual paradise. We loved it.

We saw the pictures and were charmed. The lead picture shows the outdoor hot tub, perched above the lovely bay. We rented the building mostly because we wanted to soak in that outdoor hot tub. On arrival we discovered the tub was NOT hot. The heater had malfunctioned and we notified the host. We were advised to look for a switch that was supposed to be under the tub. We could not find the switch. We were sorely disappointed.

WOW!! If youre looking for a special place for a serene time theres nothing better than this fairytale cottage. We booked for 1 day as it was a new host and listing. Will be back for a much longer stay!

Upon arrival for our 3days/2 nights, my wife and I thought this would be one of the three best VRBO properties we had ever stayed at. Unfortunately, it was not ready to receive guests, and we chalk it up as our first disappointing VRBO experience.First of all, the location is incredible. The site is perched 20 feet above an inlet with no direct view of another house. From the nicely arranged exterior patios we saw sea lions, eagles, deer, kingfishers, and other wildlife daily. The moon reflecting off of the water was magical. Next, the house is amazing. As you can see from the pictures, outside it looks like a storybook cottage. Inside the fit and finish are high and it is well-equipped appliance-wise for such a compact footprint. 5 stars so far...The hot tub was not working upon arrival. With the manual, we were able to find the problem and turn it on, but it was unusable due to water quality. When we woke on our second day there was no running water. The host sent someone out to the site a few hours later, who determined that the water tank for the property was empty. It could not be filled during our visit. We were offered two gallons of bottled water and a refund on the second night of our stay, which we accepted, but we hadn't come ready to camp. There isn't space here for the other minor annoyances, so let me just say that maintenance would make this an incredible property...and if all else fails, you can use the hot tub water to flush the toilet.

We loved staying at this very peaceful “fairy tale” cottage. Rachel was very helpful, so if you’re unsure about anything…ASK. (For example, the laundry is in the main house, not the cottage). The location made it easy to get back to Victoria, the Butchart Gardens and the Malahat Skywalk, but we felt a world away. We wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility issues (steep, but paved path to cottage) and the steps to the loft are tall. Don’t bring a ton of luggage, or you’ll be hauling it all down and back up! There’s no oven, but the grill worked great. We had absolutely perfect weather the entire week. We truly enjoyed the quiet and darkness. We saw jellyfish, lots of starfish, oysters and others and low tide and even a couple harbor seals. Rachel said sometimes there are sea lions and orcas. We’d love to come back for that! We feel so lucky for having been able to spend time in this very unique and peaceful setting. Thanks!!Krista & Jim
