Welcome to The Choosey Moose Cabin – a charming one-bedroom, one-bathroom hideaway perched on a stunning mountain up on Union Pass, Dubois, WY.

What’s Inside:

Please Note: The area is too dry for a traditional campfire.
This rental cabin is next to a garage and another cabin. The other cabin is on the opposite side of the garage. The two cannot be seen from one another from indoors.

The property set off the main highway approximately 4.5 miles, the views going up was fabulous but I wasn't aware that it was unpaved and muddy. I also did not know that the cabin had no wifi which made it very difficult to figure out our daily plans, also no cable, just a TV with a few cd movie choices. I was very disappointed. My car has mud allover, I'm not talking about a little bit but it's extremely muddy with sand. I know she told me to download the directions to the cabin before I got there because wifi was spotty, but I didn't realize that there was absolutely none when we arrived . The creek that she shows is down the road not on the property as she suggests on the photos. We did enjoy our time in Dubois very much and the surrounding areas. We got our information from locals in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your time in Dubois and the surrounding area. We do want to clarify a few details for future guests. The listing specifically states that the cabin does not have Wi-Fi or cable TV, and guests are advised to download directions in advance because cell service and connectivity can be limited in the area. The television currently at the cabin was actually left behind by a previous guest, and we have never advertised it as an included amenity. The photos in the listing that show the creek and mountain scenery are also captioned to indicate that they are views from the surrounding trails rather than features located directly on the cabin property. We appreciate your feedback regarding the road. The cabin is off the main highway and is accessed by a dirt mountain road, which can become quite muddy depending on weather conditions. We will take your comments into consideration as we look for ways to Improve and paint and even clearer picture to prospective guests. We’re sorry that some aspects of the property were different from what you expected, but we appreciate you staying with us and are happy to hear that you were able to enjoy Dubois and the beautiful surrounding area.

We had a great time. The host was more than accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed. We were able to park our truck and trailer easily and took a wonderful early winter Side by Side ride. The host offered recommendations on where to ride and maps were available. We decided to take a trail that was accessible less than a half mile from the property and were able to catch some amazing sunset views. We will be returning to this property whenever we can get away

We had the best time! We brought our side by side and had plenty of parking for our trailer, vehicle, and machine. It is the perfect location to hit the trails. There is a mudroom in the entryway so we didn’t have to track our dusty shoes and stuff inside. There is a large porch with beautiful views. Communication with the host was seamless and friendly. We will definitely come back for more trail riding!

We are a young family of four from Wyoming. While our home base is in Glenrock, we escape to Dubois whenever we can. Owning a cabin in Dubois has always been a dream of ours, and renting one of the cabins on our property helps make that dream possible.

We personally take care of all the upkeep and cleaning ourselves because we want every guest to feel as comfortable here as we do. We are not a business and do not own other rental properties — just a family grateful to share a place we truly love.

The property is about 3 acres. There are two cabins and a garage on the property. The garage and “larger” cabin are not part of the rental as they are part of our home. The garage does block the two cabins from one another. Although you can see neighboring cabins, they are not close enough to impact your serenity.

Our property is unique because it is small enough for an individual, but just big enough for four. The calmness and outdoor space around the cabin is perfect.
