Wonderful Location

We loved this cabin. Immaculate, well equipped and great spot. Easy to walk up and down 188 steps to the Toccoa River. We will be back!

great Cabin, very relaxing. if you have functional limitation, the walk down to the Picnic area is not possible for elderly and or with people with knee pain . we will stay there again

Riverview Lodge, as mentioned in the description and in the photos, is situated on a ridge overlooking the Toccoa River and surrounding mountains with a 200-ft staircase that leads to the riverbank and large clearing area. Fantastic Time at Riverview Lodge and Outlaw Ridge

We rented both Outlaw Ridge and RiverView Lodge for our Family Gathering. Both houses are spacious with 5 master bedrooms each. We had a fabulous time in the Game Rooms, TV Rooms, using the access to the Tocca River (we brought our own tubes and rafts!), plus we used the fire pit each night! The houses offer high end furnishing and bedding - each family member was thrilled! We will cherish our time at these 'cabins' and hope to return soon!

A nice cabin to get away from it all.

The cabin was lovely and well appointed. It is tricky to get into and out of in the rain. You have a beautiful view of the river. However, a hike down to th rd river is not easy and the last 10 feet to the railroad tracks is dangerous. If you are looking for a.place to nestle.in and hang.ouf with family and friends it is a great place.

This gorgeous lodge is one of our most popular vacation rentals and boasts 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a fantastic view of the mountains and Toccoa River, as well as other luxurious amenities. Due to heavy rains we've had this season, maintaining that drive has been a challenge. Again, with the heavy rains, the very end of the stairs and/or hiking path to the river can be a bit challenging. Beautiful home, but unresponsive management

We have rented many properties through Home away, but this is the first time I’ve ever had to leave a negative review. This home was very pretty, clean, and had an amazing location. Unfortunately on the evening of our arrival, we quickly noticed that it was freezing inside the house, and that our heating system wasn’t working. We called the management company and maintenance line multiple times but did not receive a call back until about 12 hours later. The maintenance person that finally returned our call seemed highly annoyed with us, but he assured my husband that the heat was working, and that he would set the heat (which he could do remotely via Nest system) and have it stay on for the duration of our stay. That night as the temperature started to drop, our heating system did not cut on again. The temperature outside was 30°, so anyone can imagine how cold it got inside the home. Again we placed multiple calls to the management company, and maintenance line, and also I sent emails to the management company. To this day, and it’s 2 Days after our stay at the home ended, we have not received any communication in return!

We thank you for your review. As we have been monitoring the reviews this month, somehow this slipped through the cracks and it is incumbent upon us to respond. We are glad that you enjoyed the beauty of the cabin and its surroundings, but sad that about the circumstances of our customer service during your stay. According to the notes on this reservation, the heating system was working and is able to be monitored by the guests staying at the cabin. The HVAC system at this home is a dual fuel system; in addition there are two gas log fireplaces on the main floor and on the basement level, in addition to an auxiliary propane heater. We are sorry this turned out this way, but hope that you would give us another try in the future. ~ The CRG Team

Can’t beat that view

Communication with the rental company was always timely, thorough, and professional. Getting there: I used Waze and it mirrored the separate directions they sent us. Note, this cabin is up hill and you do drive on some non-paved surfaces. Arriving: First thing you notice is the view. Cabin is up fairly high. View of the river and Blue Ridge mountains is stunning. Also, pretty cool that the train runs along the river. Also noticed some trash and a blue tarp outside the cabin. Don’t diminish the view, but was noticeable. Access through the front door was easy with the code we were provided. Settling in: unlike most cabins, every room in this cabin had an en suite bathroom. So, our friends could pick from any room. Watch your step on those stairs from the main floor up or down. Speaking of stairs, our friends walked down to the water. It was not simple and they stayed the stairs are a bit rickety. From the cabin you go down some stairs, walk a switchback, then hit some more stairs. We had hoped to do an outdoor fire with wood, but this proved unrealistic with the rain and muddy terrain. Even so, we enjoyed the fire in the cabin and in the back deck. What we did: first, we cooked a lot in what may be the largest cabin kitchen I’ve ever seen. Also, the dining table was a great size for our meals and card games. We spent a day in downtown Blue Ridge. Get there early and check out all the shops. We watched the sun set over the mountains every day. Amazing!

This expansive 5b/5.5b cabin truly is a special place to form lasting memories with its sweeping mountain/river views and abundance of luxury amenities. Thank you so much for your praise on our team - we pride ourselves on offering luxury experiences both inside and outside of our homes. We would love to offer a few clarifying comments to your feedback as well. The road leading to Riverview Lodge is mostly paved, but the last 0.2 mile are gravel (no 4WD is required, and no steep cliffs or roads are involved). We reviewed your comment of the blue tarp and trash, and the tarp was situated below the cabin's retaining wall in a non-visible area. Riverview Lodge was just re-roofed, and the roofers had not yet picked up their last remaining item. We were unable to find any trash when our team assessed the area. Since Riverview is perched above the water to capture the panoramic beauty of the mountains and the river, the walk down to the Toccoa River is a touch higher than some of our other luxury cabins, like Fallen Timber Lodge. Had we heard that y'all were interested in alternative routes to the river, we would have been happy to offer those details. We would love to host y'all again, perhaps at one of our closer riverfront properties, but we are thrilled to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your time at Riverview Lodge. Problems

The cabin is beautiful, but we ran into a few problems during our stay. There are issues with plumbing, as our first morning the toilet on the second floor leaked dirty water into the kitchen all over the breakfast we had just cooked. The water pressure is very low. The water would not work in the sinks at random times. In addition to plumbing problems, the WiFi wasn’t working, the TV remotes weren’t working, Apple TV wasn’t working, the lighting outside at night is minimal, there isn’t enough seating in the main room for a big group to watch TV... the amenities are provided, but the toilet paper is 1 ply and the shampoo and soap provided are very small, and don’t last long enough, especially for a big group of people. Also, I wouldn’t say this is a pet friendly cabin. They charge a lot per pet per night( more than for people) and extra cleaning fees per pet. This extra fee seems unreasonable after already paying so much per night. Furthermore, there wasn’t a need for extra cleaning that required the high charge. Also, You charged extra per person after 4 people and extra cleaning fees per person. With a cabin that sleeps 11, it is deceptive to put the base rate at 4 people when you’re most likely going to be paying well over the base rate. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The view and tall windows are stunning. But for the price, we didn’t feel like it was worth it, and will not be renting from you again.

That view is unique in Fannin County, GA! Plus, even though it sits high on a mountain overlooking such beauty, there is a trail leading down the mountain to the Toccoa River's edge where guests can enjoy a community lot with fire pits, picnic tables, fishing, even bring your hammock and enjoy the peaceful beauty and sounds of the rushing river. Riverview Lodge has long been a very popular vacation rental with our company, providing many happy memories of all who have stayed here. As policy, we do not rent our luxury properties by the house, but by the guests after 4. Our base rate for each cabin we have in our portfolio is for 4 guests. $25/person/night is then applied for additional guests after the first 4. By so doing, smaller parties can affordably enjoy the luxurious amenities of a larger cabin. I understand that you would like to rent this property for less money, but if we were to rent this home by its maximum occupancy, the nightly rate would be far more than our base price of 4 guests and additional guests at $25/person/night. Furthermore, our portfolio of cabins are upscale, high end, and luxurious. Even though we love our pets, too, they do create extra wear and tear on a cabin due to shedding, owners allowing their pets on beds and furniture, leaving them unattended when owners are away, etc. We have an obligation to our homeowners to keep their beautiful home in pristine condition as they created it in the first place. We apologize for the inconvenience of the toilet, however, all cabins in the North GA area are on septic systems and that is why we use 1-ply toilet paper-to prevent clogging. When a cabin is at maximum occupancy and with 5.5 baths used at the same time, it can be challenging regarding water pressure. Most cabins in Blue Ridge are on a well and not a public city sewer system, therefore, care must be taken to not take showers at the same time. The well needs a chance to build its water levels back up so that water pressure is satisfactory. In addition, after your departure we have found the WiFi to be working, batteries in the remotes, as well as Apple TV in working order. In spite of these problems, we are delighted that you found Riverview Lodge to be a beautiful cabin with gorgeous views, as so many of our past guests have enjoyed. Happy New Year, The CROG Team

Lovely place but little privacy and NO water pressure

Riverview Lodge does not disappoint when it comes to the views and the overall beauty of the cabin. The cabin was well stocked with all the basics and the beds were clean and comfortable. However there were a few drawbacks... to say the water pressure is bad is a total understatement. The only place there was any at all was in the washing machines. Washing dishes was a chore as there was rarely more than a trickle coming out of the tap. Sometimes when you turned it on it took up to 20 seconds for anything to come out at all. It took over 30 minutes to fill the jetted tub in the main floor master. Showers were a joke and if there was ANY water running anywhere else in the house nothing came out at all. If you’re looking for seclusion, this place is right on top of three neighbors and the builders have left debris all around. For what we spent we expected a little more. We still enjoyed our vacation because well, it was a vacation.

Riverview is a spacious and luxurious property which boasts many amenities. We are sorry to hear that you encountered some trouble with the water pressure. These homes are privately owned and this particular property is on a private well. Our staff inspects our cabins before and after our guests' stays, and they found the water pressure to be operational. Our housekeepers confirmed this during the cleans. One of the only reasons which would cause low water pressure is if the system is overloaded with the showers, dish washer, and laundry all operating simultaneously. In terms of the seclusion, this property is located in a private neighborhood, and is shielded from others at the end of the driveway. Given the trees surrounding the property in addition to the spruce trees grown next to the cabin, Riverview Lodge does not sit right on top of any other neighbors. We do apologize for the small amount of construction debris that may have been in the adjacent area to the driveway. The homeowners had just finished renovating and expanding the decks and front stairway prior to your arrival. Rest assured that everything has been handled. FUN WEEKEND, BUT...

1. You show photos of a ping pong table, but there is not one. 2. You show the hot tub outside the main floor master bedroom, however it has been relocated to the lowest level of the house. 3. The water pressure is deplorable..I tried filling a tub in the basement level, and no one had ANY water while I was doing this. 4. There are not enough pieces of silverware for the amount of people that the cabin holds. We had 9 guests, and had to run the dishwasher after every meal, and still did not have enough spoons. 5. The new dining table outside on the main balcony, which is gorgeous, never worked. It has a fire top, but does not function. 6. The refrigerator is awfully small for a cabin with this many bedrooms. In addition, a knob was broken on the cooktop. New appliances would do a world of improvement in the beautiful kitchen! We LOVED the cabin itself, loved the bedrooms, the linens, and the views. Please think about addressing these small items and correct the listing, and we may make this our annual cabin!

Thank you for your 4-star rating! We are delighted that you absolutely loved Riverview Lodge and the stunning mountain/river views, as well as the private bedrooms and luxury linens. We do work diligently to make sure our luxury homes create stellar stays for our guests. To address the small items you mention, the pingpong table is indeed in the photograph, but is described as not there in the photo caption. Additionally, it is not listed as an available amenity. Regarding the hot tub, we have just completed some awesome renovations to Riverview Lodge to enlarge the outdoor living spaces and the hot tub has now been moved to the terrace level. Once springtime comes and there are leaves on the trees we will be re-photographing this luxury cabin. Regarding the water pressure, this cabin shares a community well with three other cabins, and during your stay all three of those cabins were at maximum occupancy. As for the silverware, thank you for bringing to our attention and we have since replenished the silverware and other items. The fire table outside does work, as we checked it. As for the refrigerator, it is a full size side-by-side and after all these years, this is the first complaint. The kitchen is lovely and spacious, perfect for gathering of family and friends while enjoying meals together. We are delighted that you had a fun weekend, and we hope to host your next stay in Blue Ridge. The CROG Team

Rental company worked with me on changes I had to make at last minute. Love this house! Would have liked an easier path to the river. And would have liked a sitting area around the fire pit...

Beautiful view

Loved the view, was nice to be on river but steps and concrete pavers needs to be fixed. Would like to know where other path to get down to river was, never found! The air conditioning was a major problem, first of all every time you set it to a lower temperature and got the cabin to a comfortable Temperature and left for a couple of hours you came back to it on 79 which is very stuffy. It never stayed regulated. Had to get up many time though night to Adjust because it’s set to a schedule! We had all fans on and had to buy more to keep cool. Water was another problem with taking showers! No water pressure when everyone is trying to take a shower! We had a great time and the house is very spacious just needs air and water fixed!

Cabin Rentals of Georgia strives to maintain our properties to the highest degree for maximum guest enjoyment, and this particular property has many wonderful amenities. Boasting 5-bedrooms with 5 en suite bathrooms, a spectacular mountain and river view, plenty of space, and nice amenities, this lovely home is perfect for a couples retreat, family reunion, or even just a mountain getaway with close friends. We are sorry to hear about the inconveniences you experienced, and would like to address your concerns. Unfortunately, we never received a call over the holiday weekend about any of these issues, and if we had, our on-call maintenance team would have been happy to respond and look into them for you. As to the staircase down to the river, we have investigated it and have found it to be sound and in working order. We have not had any complaints from our recent guests, and we are not aware of the ‘other path’ that was mentioned in the review. There is only one way to get down to the expansive river area, and that is down the stairs located next to the driveway of the cabin which leads to a path we maintain down to the river. Regarding the air conditioning, due to the fact that this luxury cabin is a large size with 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and three levels, a fair amount of energy is required to circulate cool air throughout the home, but given the Nest thermostat that is installed, we have had few issues. The Nest thermostat is completely controllable and customizable for each guest in order for the cabin to remain at their desired temperature. To operate, simply push on the dial and turn it left or right to adjust. We have taken great care to explain this procedure in our guest app. In an effort for the homeowner to save money on their energy bills, we set an auto schedule between 72 and 74 degrees throughout the day and night; however, that schedule is overridden by the guest upon check-in so that they can be comfortable upon their preference. Lastly, in regards to the water pressure, these homes are served by private water wells. While the water pressure is generally great, anytime you try to use all five showers at once, there would naturally be a decrease in water pressure. Again, we do appreciate your feedback as it helps us maintain our high standard of excellence. Best, The CRG Team

Beautiful home with a rough star

First, I don't have the vocabulary to describe the breathtaking view upon entering the home. Everything is built to cater to the incredible view. From the balconies to the large window, every room has a view of the Toccoa River and the mountains. My family and I had a wonderful time exploring the surrounding area and would absolutely come back to this property. However, this home's shortcomings are extremely obvious. After taking in the breathtaking view, finding my breath was nearly impossible because the house was 93 degrees. We arrived at 6 PM, and it didn't reach 72 degrees until well past midnight. Our first night was spent sweating and miserable. After we thought the house was cool and set to a reasonable temperature, the house reach 78 degrees by noon ever though the thermostat was set to 70! Again, it didn't reach a reasonable temperature until around midnight. This house is entirely too big for one A/C unit. If you love beautiful views and warm temperatures or if you're out and about and don't plan on being in the cabin too often, then this is perfect for you. The cabin is BEAUTIFUL, and I'd love to come back if the owners install another A/C unit. I'm not kidding when I tell you that my entire family sweated themselves to sleep.

Cabin Rentals of Georgia strive to maintain our properties for maximum guest enjoyment, however, we know how frustrating it can be when things are not 100%. For this particular cabin, the air problem can be easily solved by keeping the fan on so that air conditioning can circulate on the upstairs floor. Temperatures in Blue Ridge typically stay in the low to mid-80s during the day and 60's at night, but keeping the fan on w/ the air conditioning along w/ the ceiling fans will certainly help the situation. Hope to Return

Gorgeous cabin! When you first walk in through the main door, you can't help but to be amazed by the gorgeous view of the mountains and the river. Soft jazz music welcomed us home for the weekend! Another thing that doesn't come across in the pictures is how clean the cabin is. You can tell the cabin is well loved and taken care of. There was not a single dust bunny in any of the rooms! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday weekend. Highly recommend.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was very comfortable for our 2 families and the layout suited us perfectly. The living room was such a fun place to relax and take in the incredible views. Although it's a trek to get down and back up from the river, its definitely worth it. I can imagine the river access would be awesome in the summer or with older children/teenagers. We made several trips into Blue Ridge for supplies without any issues at all with the roads or navigation. The kids really enjoyed the gem mining nearby as well as the local bowling alley. We had a truly wonderful weekend getaway.

Couples Retreat

This weekend my friends and I stayed at Riverview Lodge. This cabin is amazing. It offers 5br and 5.5 ba. With a group of 10 we had plenty of room. The views of the river and the mountain from this cabin are spectacular. We took a hike on the trail and relaxed in the gazebo next to the river. It snowed while we were visiting which was an added bonus. We fired up the fire pit outside and laughed and talked for hours. This was a special trip for 5 couples. The rooms are very spacious and we'll furnished. All amenities are included with the cabin. I would recommend this place to couples, large families or anyone who wants a little taste of country paradise. We will be returning very soon!!!!
