BEACHFRONT CABIN ON SUGAR ISLAND IN E.U.P OF MICHIGAN

Waterfront cabin located on Sugar Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. No need for a boat to travel to the island. Sugar has a year round ferry called the Sugar Islander II. For a small fee you drive right on the car ferry and five miles to our waterfront cabin. The cabin is a two bedroom one bath which offers a cozy retreat for our guests. Air conditioning and a wood pellet stove for the cooler nights. Fully stock kitchen with what you would need coffee maker, crockpot, pans. Culligan jugged water onsite. One queen bedroom, two full beds in second room and a sofa bed. Bath towels and bedding are included and are hot washed.This cabin has a wonderful screened in porch. (needed some nights) Property faces West to see the sunsets over the St. Mary's River. There is a sandy beach with a 100' dock that has a large sitting area for laying out or relaxing. Plenty of beach toys for the kids, also have few kayaks and canoes. There is a fire ring with sitting area for roasting marshmallows beach side. The grounds are well taken care of. This property is over 150 acres with a commercial maple syrup operation that guests can explore. The main shipping channel goes past so you’ll be able to see the thousand foot iron ore freighters going by. Plenty of wildlife from loons to Eagles, deer, moose, fox and the fishing is good. Pike, Walleye, Perch, Smallmouth, Atlantic salmon. Boat launch quarter mile from cabin. Guest have access to dock during the summer. The grounds offer private setting with a blueberry patch, grape veins, a garden with apple trees that guest can explore. Plenty of parking for a boat or extra vehicles.

Beautiful quiet location with lots of freighters and boats to watch. Comfortable well stocked cabin. Lots of area to play with dog. Sandy beach front. Loved our stay.

What a fun place to stay. We met Dan when we arrived and had a fun talk! He's a super host! It was really fun to sit down on the beach and watch the big freighters go by! Then as darkness approached, we sat in the screened in front porch. The cabin had everything we needed and was super clean. We highly recommend this cabin for a getaway! You will not be disappointed!

We loved our stay on Sugar Island. The property was beautiful and Dan generously offered use of the entire space. The kids loved the beach and the home was fresh, updated, and clean. We canoed, paddle boarded, saw loon families and bald eagles. I enjoyed walking in the vegetable garden and watching the sunset. Everything was as advertised or better! Excellent stay all around!

Beautiful location and very peaceful. The cabin was great and had great amenities. It was very relaxing sitting on the screened in deck or by the water watching the freighters go by. The host was absolutely wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable of the area and very responsive to any questions. We enjoyed our stay very much and are looking forward to going back again.

The cabin was very comfortable and clean. The views were spectacular. You couldn’t have a more peaceful calming place to stay. It was fabulous. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a remote and somewhere to unplug for a few days.

What a gorgeous place to watch the freighters pass through St. Mary’s River. The secluded property was peaceful and quiet. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were super comfy! The small touches like extra blankets, candles, outdoor lounge chairs and binoculars made it feel like home. The books about the area were fun to browse too. The screened in porch was fantastic so we could enjoy outside without the mosquitoes! The host was very responsive too!

We loved staying here so much that we extended our trip an extra day. Incredible slice of heaven all to ourselves. It’s difficult to find your own beach access right out the back door, but this is the place! I can’t emphasize how clean and welcoming the cabin is. Please do not having to take a ferry steer you away from this great place, it is very easy. We canoed, we sunbathed, we had a blast. We look forward to making Dan’s place an annual trip!

Arrival was very smooth. Cabin had a wonderful screened porch, with screening under the floor as well to keep out the mosquitos. Kitchen was very adequately stocked with everything you need to cook with and we did enjoy most our meals at the cabin in our week long stay. We have 4 kids aged 8 to 14 and they all enjoyed the water and paddleboards throughout the week. The dock onto the lake was a hit with our family, and was the preferred way to get into the lake to swim. Very quiet area which was exactly what we were looking for. Owner was easy to reach, and prompt with any needs.

Absolutely amazing stay!! Beautiful home and amazing area, we loved how we could see freighters pass by so closely, screened porch and beach views were incredible! The surroundings were amazing, the host was very helpful and responsive, and it was such a comfy, clean, and beautiful interior. Truly wonderful experience and would recommend 100%! Can’t wait to come back, already counting down til next time!

This cabin is pristine. The pictures didn’t do it justice. Our host Dan was great with communication. Very responsive to any and all questions and even took time to share about the area history. Dan thought of everything. No detail was left out. We will definitely stay here again. Such a wonderful experience. My only regret was we didn’t stay longer.

Highly recommend! This is an incredible place and the host is wonderful. We stayed 6 nights and it was better than we imagined. Do not be reluctant to visit an island property. Yes, it’s remote, but the ferry is a blast and the island has got to be the quietest place we’ve visited. You’re on the east side of the lake so the weather approaching is spectacular. Take time to explore the area and disconnect.

Perfect getaway to just chill and relax. Not much on the island. It was fun to go to the Soo locks. We also adventured over to Canada to do a little hiking at the Robertson Cliffs. Cabin was very clean and kitchen had everything you needed to cook. We enjoyed the canoes and paddle boards. The front porch was very relaxing with the cool breeze in your face while watching boats on the water.

The property and cabin were very clean and beautiful. The lake was very clear and not deep at all. The kids loved it and the sand on the beach is soft under foot. I do recommend bringing bug spray because those bugs will fight you and win. The pictures online don't do the cabin or lake justice everything was beautiful.

Cozy cabin with wonderful view of the St. Mary's River. Property has nice, small gardens and lots of stone work. Nice kitchen with up to date equipment. Pots, pans, and dishes are in good condition. Good response time when texting with Dan. Kids enjoyed reading on the beach. You will need bug spray in the evening.

Our cabin rental was the perfect place to get away for a couple of days. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and spacious. One feature we especialy liked was the large screened in porch which was a great place to watch the passing freighters. We thought this was the perfect waterside getaway, with the beach and the many ammenities available for visitors enjoyment, all in a private setting. Dan was extremely helpful by communicating with us to make sure we had agreat stay. We definitely recommend this cabin rental!

I enjoy all things outdoors from boat rides in the summertime to Ice Fishing in the winter time. That u.p. is a great place to spend time, especially with your family . We are hard-working family/host looking to make the best out of everyday.

With this property being on Sugar Island It’s extra special something about it warms your heart. You can feel at the moment you get off the ferry in your car. We also have a maple syrup operation on the property That the guest may check out.
