Beautiful views of nature

Super nice place. The drive to the location is a beautiful mountain experience and once we arrived, the stream, the trees, the deer and the mountains placed a wonderful backdrop for a 3 day getaway.

Anniversary

Nice location with landscaping, perfect sitting area by beautiful creek. Very comfortable king bed. We enjoyed the jacuzzi several times throughout our stay. Everything you need for a peaceful enjoyable stay. Looking into planning another stay. We had a very enjoyable anniversary Thank you

What an amazing stay! This little cabin is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. Every morning started with eating breakfast in the cozy little kitchen, and afterwards we would explore downtown Asheville, the River arts district, and the Hot Springs. We rounded out every evening with a quick soak in the hot tub and snuggling up by the charming wood stove. It's the perfect distance from both the neighbors and the city, and one morning we were even in one of the only areas blessed with snow! I would be remiss not to mention the hosts are amazing and very communicative. Rick and Mary are the best, and will even go above and beyond to help their guests out of a jam. Honestly, I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Wedding week

We came to NC for a good friends wedding. We wanted to be close to where they were staying and this was perfect. We were about 10ish minutes from the small town and main street where they had some restaurants and shopping. And not far from the bigger towns. It was nice to be a bit secluded as well! The hot tub was perfect and the house was a perfect size for the 2 of us. It even has a little stream and some chairs to sit at while enjoying the weather.

No complaints!

Used little gem as landing spot for a few days of hiking around Asheville. Everything is as advertised, small and nothing fancy but exceedingly clean and comfortable. King size bed was a welcome addition as was the hot tub. Great for unwinding after a long day. The best part was the wild life pretty much right outside any window or porch at all times and a rushing stream you could hear with the windows open. So peaceful! Overall great value for the affordable price.

Our July 2024 Stay

Overall we liked the cottage and our stay. The location was fine for us but the hairpin turns may be detrimental to some. We really enjoyed the porch and the views of turkeys and deer. We also enjoyed the landscaping (bushes) in front. The interior was okay but an upgrade on living room furniture would be a good idea. The interior was quite clean but the outside porch and the small decking by the stream were untouched. We also really liked the small town of Mars Hill. Overall we had a good stay.Thank you.

Quiet and Cozy

The cabin was quiet and cozy. The bed was very comfortable in a large bedroom. Appreciated having the ability to do a load of laundry after traveling almost one thousand miles. Just outside of Mars Hill, our destination, this little cabin at the base of a mountain was a lovely retreat. We loved the wildlife, sound of the creek and beauty all around. The quiet was just what we needed to read, chat and journal. We loved grilling out and eating on the porch and getting out of the cabin for fresh mountain air. Needed a bit of airing out, but otherwise lovely!

Perfect Cozy Cottage

We have no complaints! None at all. This was exactly as described and better. We enjoyed our stay and it was exactly what we needed. The location was perfect. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was a good size. Washer and Dryer were extra nice. No dishwasher but we didn't miss that at all. We enjoyed the gas grill, coffee maker, hot tub on porch, and everything this great place as to offer. The bubbling brook was the best of the best, that was super relaxing sitting on the deck. We enjoyed the margaritas in freezer and will be getting us some of those at home!! What a great idea.Thanks so Much for keeping this affordable so that we can enjoy NC.

We had the best time! The cottage is exactly as pictured, actually better than pictured! The property is absolutely breathtaking. Getting to watch the wild turkeys, deer, cows, bunnies, woodchuck, unique butterflies, and a precious surprise at the barn- the cutest donkey! The pond is a perfect, quick walk, and you get a show of nature along the way! My husband and I celebrated our 12th Wedding Anniversary here, and started looking at dates to plan to return the 2nd night we were here We cannot wait to come back!Everything in the house is placed so thoughtfully and the whole vibe is relaxing and recharging. The stream beside the house is perfect, so calming and beautiful. We played cards by a warm fire, with an almost-full moon and made cherished core-memories(along with s'mores) We also played cards and had a "picnic" down at the pond one afternoon, just watching the cows graze... The bathroom is wonderful, the bed is comfy, the porch is so nice and spacious- and the hot tub is perfect!!! Everything was so clean, and owner answered right away with questions! We couldn't have had a better time, and am counting down the days to our next visit to the cutest, perfectly quaint, Honeycutt Cottage!!! 100/100 stars!

Perfect mountain stay

We have always loved Asheville, we live in Statesville but have friends in this area. We came this trip for my 33rd birthday, kid free. Drinking coffee on the deck by the creek was so peaceful. Great little kitchen with all We needed. We will definitely be back. Give brownie our love!

Honeymoon

The hottub was perfect and the setting was peaceful. The washer and dryer came in handy! We were worried we would be the ones without a visit from the neighbor's dog but we were greeted upon our departure! There was everything we ever needed, thank you!

A hidden gem!

Honeycutt cottage is perfect for couples or small families who would like the feeling of being in a secluded rural home, but also 30 minutes away from downtown Asheville. The cottage itself is just darling and has all the amenities one could need for a short stay. The hot tub on the porch is one of the best features! Some reviews mention that the listing could be misleading as this isn't a cottage in the middle of 400 acres. It does sit right off the road and there are neighbors across the street. However, we barely noticed that. Even in March we could hardly see the house and once everything grows in I bet you couldn't see them at all. Their dogs are very friendly by the way :) Behind the cottage is a large cow field with 3 cows that were nice to watch from the hot tub. I would say make sure you bring a pen with you to fill out their guest book (I didn't have a pen with me and didn't get to write in it unfortunately). Overall this cottage is a wonderful place to stay for the Asheville area, 5 stars!

Perfect getaway right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains

This was our first time to the Asheville, NC area, and this perfect cottage was just the place that my wife and I needed. We utilized the hot tub almost every night, perfect after a long hike or time on the slopes, and we really enjoyed the views of the cows that we awoke to each morning; and like others have said, willow the Australian Shepard from across the street also greeted us most mornings as well (don’t let other reviewers scare you, they are very nice people, and obviously have never seen a double wide before). This place is also 15 minutes from restaurants and grocery stores in the city of Mars Hill and 30 minutes from Asheville, NC, so it’s not too much in the sticks, don’t worry. The only qualm I had with this house was the microwave - it has no glass turntable, which results in your food sometimes burning, especially if it’s in a container (the microwave also reams of burnt and splattered food and really needs to be replaced). Other than that, this place is a perfect romantic getaway for anyone wanting to be secluded in the blue ridge mountains.

Cozy and Romantic

This was a secluded nice little cottage. The cottage was clean and included most things one would need in the kitchen and bathroom area. We were greeted by friendly dogs who visited us daily. It was nice to wake up to the friendly bulls in the backyard. My boyfriend was able to pet the bulls, they were very approachable. The fireplace made watching a movie at night, romantic. The hot tub was a nice touch after a long day of skiing. I would recommend for couples looking for a quiet get a away, yet a 25 minute drive to some outdoor adventures such as skiing, snow tubing etc. We enjoyed our stay.

Honeycutt Cottage

The inside of this property is newly updated and was very clean upon arrival. The king sized bed was comfortable and the wood stove was such a great addition. We really enjoyed the hot tub and fully stocked kitchen. However, it is a bit misleading to say this property is secluded and on a 400 acre farm. There were neighbors directly across the street that were very loud at night, we could hear their conversations with the door and windows all shut, and traffic was heavy on this small road.

Overall enjoyed the stay !

Stream running through the property, great location nice porch . Hot tub clean and in working order. Kitchen adequate for two people. All other amenities were good! Only complaint, The exterior doors squeaked excessively and we’re a hard to close fully.

The most restful getaway EVER

Honeycutt Cottage was perfect for my husband and I to get some rest and relaxation away from our very busy lives. The cottage had everything we needed and more. The area is remote, but close enough to a very cute town with all amenities necessary (grocery store, bbq restaurant with delicious food). The hot tub was a bonus, as was the deck overlooking the stream. Great place for morning yoga and happy hour drinks in the evening. The cows in the field behind the cottage were a source of much amusement. We also did some wonderful hiking, which was not far at all. Asheville is very close, however, we just didn’t feel the need to leave the area. If you fly into Asheville, spend the day wandering around the eclectic town. We stopped at Trader Joe’s in Asheville before making our way north to cottage, which was a good move. A bbq is provided, so make sure you get the goods to grill out. I would highly recommend Honeycutt Cottage for a getaway from everything. It is a great way to unplug from life.
