This cabin is very convenient to the Northeast Yellowstone entrance. The cabin itself is super cute and very clean. The hosts live on property and are very helpful without being intrusive. We would definitely recommend this cabin!

Wonderful hosts. The cabin was well maintained, clean and cozy. Great jumping off spot to the NE entrance to Yellowstone. One mile from the gate.

Great stay

Loved this super cute, well built cabin. Very comfy bed. Everything was perfect and well thought out. Definitely recommend for visiting Yellowstone, beartooth and Chief Joseph highways. Cooke city cute town with good restaurants too.

Beautiful

The cabin is fantastic, just outside of yellowstone just as advertised. We had a momma moose and her babies in the yard everyday. Wonderful owners. Would definitely stay again

Bear tooth highway

Beautiful cabin Carol and Pete were great. Located 2 miles from yellow stone. The drive over bear tooth highway is worth the time

We booked to cabin and it was as shown online. It was beautiful and nice great location. Great host Carol and Pete were the best will go back and rent again.

Wonderful cabin

Great host and property

The cabin was beautiful, with amazing wood work. It was super quiet, and the hosts have thought of everything. Our interactions with Carol were pleasant, and she was available for any questions we had. If you are visiting the north east part of Yellowstone Park, we would highly recommend you stay here.

Silvergate MT

The hostess kept us well informed of the local road conditions and NPS closures. Very friendly and helpful. Cabin was exceedingly clean and well cared for. Great accent pieces.

Yellowstone Adventure

Carol’s property is simply amazing, and she is probably the best host we have ever had. The cabin is so cozy and spotless, and very comfortable, with everything you need. The location and surroundings, right next to Yellowstone Park and creekside, are spectacular. Even though we did have to cut our stay short by 2 nights due to the historic floods in Yellowstone, we enjoyed our stay very much and can’t wait to return.

Absolutely Fabulous!

This was our fourth(?) time staying with the Widmans, and this property never fails to deliver. The proximity to the park and the pass make it the perfect base camp for daily excursions. You should definitely stay here, but please don't take the dates we like. :)

Best cabin in the entire area

Amazing!!! 11 star rating!! Handcrafted mastery. I spent hours looking at the details of the wood work and forgot to watch TV. Super cool, fresh, super pure drinking water. Super quiet and isolated but close to everything. The Widman's are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed a week on their property. Staying at the Widman’s property will be a memory to cherish for a lifetime.

Please Don't Stay Here...So I Don't Have to Scrounge for Dates!

This was our second time staying with the Widmans, and we will definitely stay with them again so long as the rest of you don't take all of the summer dates! The cabin(s) are the perfect location for day trips into Yellowstone, so you don't have to blow your entire budget on food and lodging in the park. We also appreciate that the cabins are pet-free. For those of us with asthma and allergies, it's a challenge finding lodging in the area.

Fantastic Cabin for Yellowstone Adventures

Just 5 minutes from Yellowstone's NE entrance, this cabin was perfect for our week-long excursion in Yellowstone. This cabin is extremely close to the Lamar Valley, which has most of the wildlife in the park (including wolves and grizzly bears). Additionally, very convenient for great cutthroat trout fishing. The cabin itself has all the amenities necessary for a relaxing stay (including TV). Not to mention, Pete and Carol are fantastic resources to help guide your planning in the area. Don't even bother looking at other places for Yellowstone, just book this while it's still open.

Rustic Luxury

Silvertip cabins are the perfect combination of being off the beaten path, but clean, comfortable & functional. Carol & Pete have made sure anything you may need is available. We are VRBO veterans & the cabin was the nicest rental we have stayed in. Our main purpose for visiting was to watch wildlife in the Lamar Valley. The cabins are as close as you can possibly get to the entrance of YNP which made morning & evening trips into the park very convenient. If you are going to this area, Silvertip Cabins is the place to stay.

I highly recommend SilverTip Cabins. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, but were very respectful of our privacy. The cabin was amazing….remote, rustic, very clean, and beautiful….offering everything a couple needs for time away. The bed was so comfortable, neither of us woke up sore….INCREDIBLE! This place is a little piece of paradise. From the quaint cabin, to the fire pits….one by the cabin, the other a short walk to the river (stocked with wood). Food in the area was delicious and everyone was so friendly! Beautiful waterfalls in the area and right next to Yellowstone National Park. We enjoyed it so much that we hung out at the cabin more than we originally planned. A real gem!!

Better than advertised

Absolutely fabulous. Pete and Carol are wonderful host. The information they provided was fabulous. We took hikes based on the information. The cabin was cozy, very clean and well kept, sitting on the porch you smell the pines. We even were able to see a mama moose and 2 of her babies right. The grounds you are able to use are stunning, sitting by the river, fishing.

First Time To Yellowstone

This was my first trip to Yellowstone and had waited a long time. So we planned this trip as a bucket list trip. We found this online and it couldn't have been better. It was very comfortable and its location couldn't have been better. Its less than a mile outside the Northeast gate. The owners go out of their way to be great host and the cabin and surrounding area is beautiful. If your interested in cabins, it was built by the owner and the craftsmanship is excellent.

A Great Surprise Rental!!

We purchased three nights of our stay at a fund raiser for Just Hope - not really knowing the quality of the property we were bidding on. After reading some reviews, we added an additional two nights which was a brilliant move on our part. The property and the cabin was more than we anticipted. Beautiful well built cabin for two with all the amenities that one could expect. Really, it's more than we had anticipated as a place to stay to visit Yellowstone. The cabin was built by Pete and decorated by Carol. Cutest cabin inside and out ever!!!!!

Great Little Cabin!

Loved this little cabin! It is brand new so everything is clean and in top notch shape plus it's beautifully done. It's in a great location, close to Yellowstone Park (entrance is just a mile or two down the road), which was very handy. The owners, Pete and Carol, are very friendly and accomodating. Only one minor negative that I can think of. Pete is finishing the building next door so there was lots of tools and such in the outdoor area. But that is a very temporary situation. I would definitely recommend this cabin to a friend or relative.

Silvertip Cabins - Pure Gold

The cabin was brand spanking new, clean, cute and fully furnished. The hosts , Pete and Carol, were even nicer. We are amazed that this couple designed and built this place themselves. They are truly a very gifted and really accommodating to everything you need. The craftsmanship showed in everything they do, down to the hand scraped pine railings to the elk antler drawer pulls! We enjoyed our stay so much, that we're looking to possibly get a place of our own. If not, we want to stay for a much longer period with the Widman's, next trip to this wonderful piece of heaven. Forested Escape

This property in Silver Gate was perfect for our visit to the Lamar Valley in YNP. The kitchen was set up well with utensils and pots and pans, and there is a cupboard with ample space for storing dry goods (very limited access to groceries, so we came prepared!). There is also a good supply of casserole dishes and storage containers if needed. The stove works well, runs hot so heating up servings of chili took no time at all, and the oven also heats up quickly. The bed was very comfortable, there are terrific built-in cabinets and shelves and the overall layout of the cabin works well. Finally, many thanks to Carol and Pete for their warm hospitality!
