Welcome to Casita Tierra Alta, a 1 bedroom Mediterranean-inspired guesthouse. With a large living area, a dedicated workspace, and serene outdoor spaces, the Casita is ideal for couples, remote workers, and travelers seeking comfort and style near San Diego.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY / AMENITIES
BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
One bedroom with a king-size bed (plus sleeping options for up to 4 guests), with elegant linens and thoughtful touches. One full bathroom with modern fixtures, ample storage, spa-style touches, and soft lighting.
INDOOR LIVING & DINING
A cozy open living space flows into a fully equipped kitchen featuring and a curated coffee & tea bar. Indoor dining comfortably seats 4 guests, perfect for relaxed meals or quiet nights in.
OUTDOOR PATIO & RELAXATION
Private garden patio creates a tranquil setting. Outdoor space is peaceful and perfect for morning coffee, reading, or evening drinks.
ENTERTAINMENT
Living space TV with streaming capability and comfortable seating for relaxation or catching up on shows.
CONNECTIVITY & WORKSPACE
Fast reliable WiFi (1 Gbps), plus a dedicated workspace with ergonomic desk setup and docking station so you can stay productive and connected.
PRIVACY & ACCESS
Private entrance and dedicated parking. Guests enjoy full privacy — the Casita is independent and secluded, yet within the same property grounds. Outdoor amenities for the Villa are not shared with Casita guests when booked separately.
LOCATION & NERABY
Just 3 minutes to pickleball courts, 5 minutes to downtown La Mesa with cafés, restaurants, wine bars, and shops. Also a short 20-minute drive to San Diego’s beaches and coastal attractions for a perfect balance of tranquility & adventure.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests will have access to all features of the casita, except the maid's closet and other restricted areas marked by signage.
HOUSE RULES
9PM QUIET HOURS & NOISE MONITORING
Our home is located in a peaceful residential neighborhood, and we ask that you help keep the environment calm for everyone. Please be mindful of noise levels and bring conversations and activities inside after 9:00 PM and before 8:00 AM. The City’s Noise Ordinance is strictly enforced. Parties or any disturbances that violate the ordinance will result in fines of $1,000 to $10,000 and immediate eviction without a refund. Sound levels are monitored inside and outside the property through NoiseAware, but there are no recordings to respect guest privacy.
NOT A PARTY HOUSE
We love hosting guests who appreciate a peaceful atmosphere! Please keep in mind that this is NOT a party house, and neighbors can be sensitive to noise, especially late at night. If you're planning to have late-night gatherings or be a bit louder, we kindly ask that you consider other options, as we want to ensure a peaceful environment for everyone. Thank you so much for your understanding!
GUEST CAPACITY
There is an additional guest fee of $25 per guest, per night after the 2nd guest. Other than overnight guests, no other persons are permitted on the property without our explicit approval. Any changes to the guest count must be made before booking, or with our explicit approval. If guest count is more than the number of approved guests on the reservation, guests will be removed with no refund.
EVENTS
No events or gatherings are allowed without prior written authorization. Please inquire if you have special plans that require our approval. Additional fees will apply depending on the event.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in is available at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. We need this time to properly prepare the home for future guests. Unfortunately, early check-ins or late check-outs are not possible if another guest is arriving or departing on the same day.
REPORTING ISSUES UPON ARRIVAL
Please report any issues within 24 hours of arrival so we can address them promptly. We strive for excellence and want to ensure your stay is as comfortable and seamless as possible.
FURNISHINGS & AMENITIES
Please note that furnishings and amenities may change from time to time, so we recommend confirming with us if there’s anything specific you need.
PRE-APPROVAL OF GUESTS & PLANS
All guest ages and the intended use of the home must be pre-approved. We reserve the right to decline or cancel reservations at our discretion.
CHILD SAFETY
This home is not baby or child-proofed. If you are traveling with children, please inspect the property upon arrival and make any necessary adjustments to ensure the safety of your little ones.
SECURITY
For security purposes, we have six exterior surveillance cameras recording 24/7. These cameras are located in the main driveway, street, front gate, side gate, and casita driveway. While the neighborhood is very safe, we encourage guests to lock the entrances before departing.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE SERVICES
In order to keep the property up to our high standards, we have a team that performs weekly servicing including:trash collection (Thur ~8pm) and landscaping (Fri ~10am).
PET POLICY
We’re happy to welcome your furry friends! This home is pet-friendly, with a $100 fee per pet, per stay. You may bring up to 2 pets. Please notify us during booking if you plan to bring a pet. This fee does not include the removal of excessive pet hair or excrement clean-up. Please remember to add your pet to the number of guests, and the fee will be automatically applied.
NATURAL SETTING
Our home is located in a natural environment, and guests may occasionally encounter insects or small wildlife. We take proactive measures with professional pest control, regular maintenance, and thorough cleaning before each stay, but it is not possible to eliminate all occurrences. Keeping doors and windows closed will help minimize them. Should you notice any insects or small animals indoors, please notify us so our team can respond promptly. Refunds will not be issued for these situations.
PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
Please refrain from any video, photography, or film production on the property without our express written consent. Additional fees may apply for filming requests.
