Wonderful home in beachfront complex with pool & hot tub, central AC & deck

Wind Top Unit #306 is a third-floor suite that is tastefully decorated and offers a flatscreen TV in both the living room and bedroom along with a DVD player and a stereo/CD player. The Durant Station Condominiums offer spectacular ocean views from every property. The suite offers a private oceanfront deck, as well as a sound-side deck for viewing colorful sunsets. Elevator service to all levels makes Durant Station a most convenient choice for all ages: no need to haul luggage and groceries up long flights of stairs! Guests are just a few short steps to the ocean via a private wooden walkway. The Hatteras area offers some of the best fishing and sunbathing on the East Coast.

At Durant Station you'll enjoy a host of amenities including one of Hatteras Island's largest private pools with an adjacent hot tub available April 1 to January 2. The Durant Station Community Center is crowned by the original historic Durant Lifesaving Station tower, a rich piece of Hatteras Island's past. You'll find the Community Center ideal for relaxing with friends, conducting meetings, wedding parties and receptions, or simply enjoying the lounge areas, which offer a large-screen 50-inch plasma TV, and a complete kitchen on the upper level. The Durant Station complex consists of three floors, which start about 12 feet above the ground.

This unit has been tastefully furnished (there are new mattresses on every bed!) and fully equipped with central air-conditioning, cable TV with steaming, Satellite HDTV with a DVR, high-speed WiFi for your devices, and solid surface counters in the kitchen. Centrally located on the first floor is a coin-operated laundry facility with an ocean view. A large separate fish-cleaning station, barbecue grills, and outdoor shower facilities complete the picture. The Durant Station Condominiums are located in Hatteras Village, oceanfront on Highway 12. Enjoy being beachfront and near local restaurants and shops.

This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.

This property was lovely and amenable, just as advertised. On the third floor of the condo building, we could see the Pamlico Sound from the bedroom window and the Atlantic Ocean from living room. There was a nice patio with furniture where we sat and watched the sunrise. The condo was quite clean and well-furnished. We had one issue with a needed repair that was addressed and perfectly repaired within a couple of hours. There is a nice clubhouse and a dependable elevator. There is also a small dedicated pool and private beach access (the beach is very close). Everything was just as promised. We recommend this property highly. There are a couple things I might mention as well. One, while we had good instructions on the whole, including the code needed to get into the front door, we didn't have information about where and how to enter the code (once we learned how to use it, it was a good setup, in that you don't have to take a key or leave the condo unlocked when you go to the beach). Two, there are at least two rolling luggage racks which are pretty important if you're staying on the third floor. I think there should be shared guidelines about where one can find the racks and where they should be kept when not in use.

Great location, right on ocean, beautiful view. Large pool. Boardwalk to pool and down to beach. Plenty of storage space in all rooms except maybe bathroom. Love large closet in bedroom. Decor excellent. Comfortable bed. We enjoyed our unit very, very much.

Great Vacation Home

This is our third year staying at Wind Top and hopefully we will have the pleasure of staying there for many years to come. The condo is fully equipped and the ocean views are fantastic. I would highly recommend this unit to a couple or a family of possibly two adults and two children since there is a queen bed and a queen sofa bed.
