There's nothing Hazy about these sunsets! You will thoroughly enjoy this beautiful, custom-built home on Frisco's sound front. With very easy access from street level, you'll have no problem bringing in your luggage and groceries. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing gourmet meals with lots of room for more than one chef, and you'll love the flow to the separate dining room through the butler's pantry which provides ample storage for your groceries and wine. From the sound-front living room featuring a 65-inch flatscreen TV, you'll have easy access to the large, furnished deck that overlooks the water, where you will enjoy lovely, colorful sunsets year-round. The bedrooms are furnished to give you a variety of sleeping arrangements, making them perfect for a family or for couples. Step down to the lower deck where a six-person hot tub will be the ideal place to relax with a glass of wine after a day on the water. From this deck, a stairway descends down to the water's edge for easy launching of kayaks, windsurfers, or kiteboards. Don't miss this gem!

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.


Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

We have stayed at Hazy Sunset several times and love it. The sunsets are amazing! The house is comfortable and accommodating for families and pets. Close to all of the nearby beaches and restaurants. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Nice Spot, Shallow water

Like I said, very Nice location, but a quite shallow in front of the house if you're trying to put in there for any reason. Same for beach, though at far end there is a chanel.

Unparalleled comfort in a secluded natural setting

Hazy Sunset offers expansive views of the sound and the privacy you want on a Hatteras Island vacation. Epic Sunsets and fabulous stargazing. Comfortable furnishing, lots of book and games, and an extra spacious kitchen made this a fabulous vacation home for our family.

Nothing hazy about it.

This was very nice, very clean home. Very well equipped as well. My fiancé and I had our best vacation yet in the Outerbanks staying at Hazy Sunset. Looking forward to staying here again.

Nice vacation rental!

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the property. The home was clean and had everything we needed for a good vacation the rental company was not the best in terms of customer service and the 5 to 6 PM check in time is too late

Great house, great view

We really enjoyed our stay -- the house has a great open floor plan, it's beautifully furnished, and the kitchen is huge and very well-equipped. But what we really loved was the location -- perfect view of the sound, we enjoyed it even when the weather was windy and cold. Would love to return in warmer weather!

Lovely spot

Great location with a little beach next door and water access under the house. The great room and porch upstairs have a great view of the sunset and are fun for bird watching. Nice big kitchen with good equipment. The hot tub was scrummy.

This was an amazing property for us. We truly enjoyed the house! Had all we needed.. We loved the back decks. Gorgeous sunsets! Was able to go out kayaking whenever we wanted! Nice neighborhood for morning walks/runs! Thanks for letting us enjoy your home!!

Great, but dirty kitchen

Beautiful view and very comfortable. Adorable neighborhood. But it seemed like every dish and utensil was dirty and required washing before use.

Will not book again.

The owners constantly observe the multiple security cameras on the property and call Vacasa to pick apart things you’re doing. Absolutely no privacy and ruined our week long trip. In addition, the kitchen is poorly stocked (knives dull, cookware worn). The view is great. The TV is great. The sound access may be changing soon as the property is going up for sale. Our experience will Vacasa was great. The home owners not so much.

Spectacular Sunsets

My and family and I had a great week at Hazy Sunset. We loved the house, especially the deck that presented us a 180-degree view of the sound. We had most of our meals on the covered deck, and our two small dogs loved hanging out on the deck with us. The hot tub was nice as we watched the sun set on the water. We also took our pups to the little beach and they played in the water. All in all, the house was great! Lots of room to spread out, lots of games for the one rainy day we spent indoors, all the equipment you might need in the kitchen. But the what we enjoyed the most was that deck that looked over the sound and gave us the spectacular sunsets. Five stars!

Beautiful place, cleaning upkeep a little lax

We love vacationing here with our 3 teens-so close to surfside, but the sound gives a waterfront when the waves are dangerous on surfside-and the SUNSETS are amazing! We definitely encountered some housekeeping issues, some maintenance issues and had trouble reaching those who should fix them. For such an expensive vacation, we shouldn't have to deal with a moldy dishwasher, a tub with drainage issues, dirty vents/ceiling fans and AC filters that hadn't been changed since April (especially during Covid!)

Vacasa Issue

The home itself was absolutely wonderful. It is evident that the owners truly want their renters to have a great vacation. The property management, Vacasa, on the other hand ruined our family vacation. In addition to the lack of cleanliness (beds unmade, comforters filthy, dog hair everywhere, used bar soap in the shower, and piles of swept up dirt/hair/sand), within 24hrs of arrival, we received two calls from Vacasa with complaints of occupancy and smoking-which were inaccurate and false. We asked for clarification on where they were receiving this information-as we noticed several cameras on the property-and were told that neighbors were reporting this. This was an absolute invasion of our privacy, especially considering my children were being watched.
