Rose of Destin - Mediterranean styling on the lake, unlike anything in Destin!

As new owners of this property (November 2025!), Jim and Ginger Welch invite you to stay in something truly special...that's why we purchased it! We are very experienced VRBO renters, having rented our homes in CA, KY, and FL for over 17 years. We previously had a large home within Holiday Isle in Destin, but sold it in early 2022 and moved back to our KY home when our oldest son's family (with 5 of our 12 grandkids) moved back to Louisville from the Newark, NJ area. After being away from Destin (Louisville South!) for more than three years, it's good to be back to a place we really enjoy.

Why Destin? Well, the weather, gulf waters, and so many restaurants close by. The snow-white sugar sands of the gulf are so invitinig...and just a short 1,000' walk away (even shorter with the included golf cart!)

So, last month, in November 2025, we purchased this property, which we are calling Rose of Destin...it was simply unlike anything we've seen in Destin. It will become our residence and winter home but will be available for short-term, vacation rental for spring and summer months, starting in April, 2026.

We are both in our mid-70s and love traveling to Europe, so were attracted to this home because it is so unique and reminded us of so many of the great places we've been to. We looked at a lot of homes, but they all seemed so cookie-cutter as rentals (you've seen them in your searching...small, square white rooms with nothing special about them). As with our other homes, we really wanted our renters to experience something different...and special. Yes, there will be a LOT of less expensive homes in Destin you could rent, but if you want something memorable...we invite you to vacation at the Rose!

The Rose of Destin is located within the private, gated community of Destiny West. The house is right around the corner from the great clubhouse, pool, gym, tennis and pickleball court (bring your raquets!)...all available to you when you rent Rose of Destin. The Rose also sits on what I believe to be the premier lot on the lake...great views from the large terraces and decks. Soak up inn the pools and have a relaxing time!

If you play golf...WOW, there are great courses within just a few miles...Regatta Bay, Emerald Bay, Kelly Plantation, Indian Bayou, Seascape, Raven Club, Burnt Pine, and Sandestin Links...all within 1-5 miles from the Rose of Destin! Definately, bring your clubs and reserve your tee times!

So...take a look at the setting and pictures. Pretty special place to visit and relax! Ask yourself...what are you waiting for? Reserve your special week before they are all gone! The house has great comfortable beds for 8 adults...plus kids can sleep up on the 3rd floor on nice sofas.

Okay, we own two Goldendoodles...our babies. You are welcome to bring up to two, 50 pound dogs, as long as you take responsibility for any damages they might cause...and cleaning up after them, of course! There is a $250 non-returnable pet fee for up to 2 small-to-medium sized dogs. We do prefer that you leave your dog/s at home, but as long and you feel they would not be barkers and disrupt neighbors, they can be welcomed.
