We had a very disappointing experience at this rental. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and the overall condition of the property were far below expectations.There were small ants crawling on the bed and on the end table in one of the bedrooms, which was extremely unsettling and made it difficult to feel comfortable sleeping there. The window next to the bed in the same room would not close all the way, which felt unsafe and was probably the point of entry for the ants.The house had a very strong smell of cleaning chemicals mixed with a urine-like odor, which made the space unpleasant to be in. It did not feel fresh or properly maintained.Additionally, there was a travel trailer parked directly in front of the house with people living in it, which was not disclosed beforehand and made the property feel less private. We reached out to the property owners right away and let them know that we were not comfortable staying. We we hoping that they would make it right by refunding us half the amount that we paid since the house did not feel safe and was unclean (ants crawling on the bed). Rather than offering a reasonable solution or compensation, communication felt dismissive and unhelpful. As a guest, you expect at least an effort to resolve legitimate concerns, especially when they involve cleanliness and comfort. That did not happen here. Overall, this house did not meet basic cleanliness or comfort standards, and I would not recommend this rental based on my experience.
