Located just 3 miles from the new Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center and a short drive to Downtown San Diego, Coronado, and top attractions like the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, USS Midway, and Petco Park, this historic estate offers a rare blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.
Sunlight fills the home throughout the day, while soft solar lighting creates a warm, inviting glow across the gardens at night. Relax on the spacious front and back porches, or unwind in the resort-style backyard surrounded by tropical landscaping, featuring a sparkling pool, hot tub, and outdoor lounge areas perfect for gathering or relaxing.
With 7 bedrooms, 12 beds, and 4.5 bathrooms, the estate comfortably accommodates families and groups looking for space, privacy, and character. Whether you're visiting San Diego for a special occasion, a family retreat, or events like Comic-Con, the Starkey Estate offers a peaceful setting to relax while staying close to the city’s best attractions.

Included With Your Stay
• Overnight accommodations for up to 10 guests (please inquire for larger groups)

• Full access to the main house, pool, spa, and all yard areas

• Free onsite parking for up to 8 vehicles

• Optional barn access for $250 (one time fee). The barn is equipped with a pool table and a ping-pong table
The property also includes two RV hookups with electricity, water, and sewage, available for $100 per night per hookup (one-week notice required).

Pool & hot tub
• Pool and hot tub hours: 8 AM – 10 PM

• Hot tub heating included (approximately 2–4 hours to heat)

• Pool heating available for $150 per day (24-hour advance request required)

Events
The Starkey Estate is also available for small gatherings or events. Event pricing is an additional fee that varies based on the size and specifics of the event. Please inquire for a customized quote.

Guest Experience
Your stay includes the support of our host, David, who lives quietly on-site in a private cottage. David respects guest privacy and never uses guest amenities during stays.
If you prefer complete privacy, David can vacate the property with two weeks’ notice. Short-notice arrangements may be possible for an additional $500 fee.
At check-in, one of our hosts will personally welcome you, provide a quick walkthrough of the estate, and highlight key features so you can settle in comfortably and start enjoying the property right away.

Whether you're reconnecting with family, celebrating a special occasion, or attending an event at the Gaylord Resort, The Starkey Estate provides a peaceful, spacious retreat where historic charm meets relaxed California living.

**Pets are not permitted on the property without prior written approval from the host. Unauthorized pets are considered a violation of the house rules.
Guests who bring unauthorized pets onto the property may be charged for any additional cleaning, deodorization, pest treatment, damage repair, landscaping repair, loss of revenue from displaced bookings, and other related expenses.
A minimum fee of $500 will be assessed for any unauthorized pet brought onto the property, in addition to the actual cost of cleaning, repairs, and damages, if applicable.

**Smoking, vaping, marijuana use, and burning incense are strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including all indoor and outdoor areas.

Guests found violating this policy may be charged for any additional cleaning, deodorization, remediation, damage repair, loss of revenue from displaced bookings, and other related expenses.

A minimum fee of **$500** will be assessed for any evidence of smoking, vaping, marijuana use, or incense burning on the property, in addition to the actual cost of cleaning, repairs, and damages, if applicable.

**Quiet Hours:**
- 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM

**Outdoor Gatherings:**
- Must be maintained at a respectful, conversational volume at all times.

**The following are not permitted anywhere on the property.**
- Amplified music
- DJs
- Live bands
- Karaoke
- Subwoofers
- Large sound systems

Excessive noise, parties, or disturbances that lead to neighbor complaints, law enforcement involvement, or violations of local noise ordinances are strictly prohibited.

Please be aware that noise monitoring devices are installed in outdoor common areas to help ensure compliance with house rules and local noise ordinances. These devices monitor noise levels only and do not record, store, or transmit conversations.

Unauthorized parties, events, or gatherings are strictly prohibited. Guests found hosting or participating in an unauthorized party, event, or gathering will be charged a minimum $1,000 violation fee, plus any additional costs for damages, excessive cleaning, security, fines, loss of income, legal expenses, or other related costs. Violations may result in the immediate cancellation of the reservation, removal from the property, and forfeiture of all remaining nights and payments without refund.
