Mullica River Cottage's Kingfisher Cottage is located in the heart of the NJ Pine Barrens in the quaint village of Sweetwater. This bright and cozy cottage is steps from the Mullica River and 1 mile from Historic Batsto Village and the Sweetwater Riverdeck & Marina. This property offers direct backyard Mullica River access for swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing. We offer kayaks and a canoe on site for guest use. The property also has a riverside fire pit with Adirondack chairs.

This is a fully detached private home with separate and private entry, approx 1300 sq. ft.

Bright and open floor plan with natural skylights throughout. The cedar lined sunroom features a reading chair + bistro dining set that faces the beautiful Mullica River. This spectacular view is the best seat in the house; capturing unique and abundant wildlife that frequent the property and riverfront. Beaver, geese, hummingbirds, tons of other backyard birds, woodpeckers, mallards, hawks, eagles, herons, wild Turkey, turtles and more! Binoculars and bird book provided.

Full equipped kitchen features a propane gas range/oven, microwave, toaster, full size refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher. Cabinets are stocked with pots/pans/utensils, etc.

Both bedrooms are equipped with a Queen mattress.

The brand new LUXE bathroom features a custom tiled shower, single vanity/sink, and toilet.

All linens are included (towels, sheets, blankets, pillowcases, dishtowels).

Sit out on the back deck overlooking the Mullica River while enjoying a freshly brewed cup of coffee or cold beverage. In the summer months, the fireflies light up the pines for an evening treat. In the cooler months, roast marshmallows over an open fire right on the river in the backyard recessed fire pit. We have Adirondack POLYWOOD style chairs, tons of wood - large, kindling, starter material. Please leave your own firewood at home.

We are minutes from Crowley's Landing Boat launch and Sweetwater Marina and Riverdeck-both equipped with boat ramps.


The cottage has WiFi and a ROKU Smart TV. If you prefer to unplug, there are books, magazines, board games, and puzzles located throughout the cottage.

Guest Use of any/all amenities are at your own risk. This includes but is not limited to: kayaks/paddles, swimming in the river, fishing, tubing, fire pit, etc. this applies to all guests in your party.

Our property offers direct backyard Mullica River access for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. There are kayaks, and 1 canoe, on site available for guest use. As a guest in this space you will have full access to all parts of the 1 acre property and the river outdoor amenities. There is another cottage rental on this property that is separate and detached. Common outdoor areas, such as the riverside firepit/kayaks/canoe, are shared among the guests of the adjacent rental on the property if occupied.
