A thatched half-timbered house in the heart of the Lüneburg Heath. Peace and relaxation amid stunning natural surroundings in a beautiful, lovingly restored gem.
We rent out our historic, thatched half-timbered house, which we have lovingly furnished.
The house is situated in an idyllic location at the end of a quiet dirt road with only three houses. It is part of a historic ensemble of heathland half-timbered houses and stands on a plot of approximately 2,100 m² with several centuries-old oak trees, which is available for your exclusive use along with a carport.
Dogs are very welcome here. Thanks to the property’s location on the edge of a field, the dog run begins right next to the house.
Smoking is not permitted inside the house. Events, parties, and bachelor/bachelorette parties are also not permitted. No repairmen!
You enter the house through a decorative clonk door. On the first floor, there is a spacious living and dining area with an open kitchen (53 m²). The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove with a ceramic cooktop, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator. All tableware and various appliances (toaster, raclette machine, etc.) are provided. With a fully automatic coffee machine, you can prepare various coffee specialties at the touch of a button.
In the center of the living area, a large sofa arrangement invites you to relax in front of the beautiful tiled stove. A high-quality home organ is available for amateur musicians to use. There is also a large flat-screen TV here.
From the XXL “Lisbeth” armchair, you can enjoy an unobstructed view of the garden and the surrounding fields. It’s a wonderful spot where you can find peace and quiet—even as a couple—in complete comfort.
Another bright room features a large, high-quality double bed (Hülsta). There are also two wingback chairs here, offering a place to relax and enjoy the view of the spacious, secluded terrace.
On the first floor, you’ll also find the nearly new bathroom with a wall-hung toilet and a walk-in shower.
On the first floor, you pass through a room with two single beds to reach a large, light-filled bedroom with a double bed (Hülsta). The second bathroom is also located on the first floor.
Starting in 2024, a large, high-quality XXL beach chair will be available for you on the terrace.
On the side terrace adjacent to the house, we’ve set up a large outdoor seating area that seats up to 8 people. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast outdoors, have a cup of coffee, or simply sit together.
The large garden is quiet and well-established. Far away from the hustle and bustle, the garden is an oasis of tranquility. There are many spots here where you can simply sit and enjoy nature. You’re also welcome to use the garden for playing with your children. Soccer, badminton, or bocce—anything is possible.
Garden furniture is available for your use. In the former sheep barn, we have bicycles available for you to take wonderful excursions through the heathland.
Surroundings:
St. Dionys, with its unique charm and perfect location between the banks of the Elbe and the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg, is set in beautiful surroundings. On the one hand, the heathland and pine forests characterize this village of 500 residents; on the other, its typical architecture, which consists mainly of thatched half-timbered houses.
The centerpiece of the village is St. Dionysius Church, founded as early as 795 by Charlemagne, King of the Franks. Its impressive Furtwängler organ is particularly noteworthy. In the immediate vicinity of the vacation home lies one of Germany’s most beautiful and historic golf courses (ranked among the top 10 German golf courses by Golfmagazin). Thanks to its stunning location in a nature reserve, it is not only appealing to golfers but also ideal for wonderful, leisurely walks.
There are diverse fishing opportunities and beautiful cycling and horseback riding trails. You can experience peace and tranquility on the many idyllically situated hiking trails that start right from the house and wind around the towns of St. Dionys, Barum, Wittorf, and Brietlingen.
The Way of St. James, the Via Scandinavica—which connects the Scandinavian countries as well as Lithuania and Poland with the Way of St. James routes in central and southern Germany—runs right past the house.
A scallop shell mounted on the house points pilgrims toward Santiago.
An extensive forest area lies right on the southern edge of town,
