This is a convenient location with easy access to the highways and downtown area. We stayed Friday to Sunday and had no issues finding on-street parking near the house. Very close to neighboring areas and there are more than enough options for dining. The house was clean and a plus is the provided bed linens and towels. The two front bedrooms (street side) have rechargeable (use your USB cell phone power brick) night stand noise machines that aided in masking the overnight street noise (main thoroughfare). We needed room for four people, and this was a great spot to call home rather than having to rent two hotel rooms for an event we were attending in Mechanicsburg. If we need to go to Harrisburg (or the surrounding area) in the future we would definitely consider renting this home again.

The property is “generally” a spacious 3 floor Victorian home that was very clean and comfortable. I say “generally” because the home has several updates that tend to be more modern than Victorian. The bedrooms and beds are nice and comfortable. Though we did not use the kitchen, it appeared to be well equipped. The Host was very quick to respond to questions. The check in and check out were both quick and painless. A couple of cautions about this property. Two of the bedrooms are on the second floor and one is on the third, both floors accessible via a narrow winding staircase that I would not consider easily accessible by someone with a mobility issue. Also, while there is street parking adjacent to the property, we were lucky to get one space halfway down the block which would not have been available were we staying at this property on a weekday. There was other parking possibly around the corner, but that still was quite some distance from the front door of the property. All-in-All, we enjoyed our stay and would consider it again.

Thank you for your feedback. We do want to clarify that the parking concerns described are not an accurate reflection of the situation. Our welcome guide clearly explains the parking requirements, including the need to follow all posted street signs and restrictions. I also personally called you during your stay to review the instructions and make sure everything was understood. Despite this, your vehicle was parked directly under a posted restriction sign, which resulted in the citation. This was not due to a lack of information or unclear instructions, but rather a failure to follow the guidance that was provided before and during your stay. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue during your visit. The welcome guide contains detailed instructions for parking, locking the home, and checkout procedures, yet multiple instructions were not followed. The property was also left with damage, including damaged blinds/curtains, a dropped hair dryer, and furniture moved out of place, which required us to submit a damage claim. We have hosted many guests and have never experienced these types of issues with anyone else. We make every effort to provide clear instructions, communicate proactively, and ensure our guests have a comfortable stay. We expect guests to take responsibility for following the information provided, especially after additional guidance has been personally given.

The home is well furnished and very convenient to downtown. I probably didn't read the listing carefully enough, but I had thought one bedroom was on the first, main floor. My husband was three weeks out from total knee replacement surgery and those steep Victorian stairs were a challenge. For the same reason, I really wish the owner was more upfront about the fact that not only is there NO dedicated parking for this rental, the parking situation is incredibly difficult. We often had to park two or three blocks away. This is ok for those of us who could walk, but it made unpacking into the home, and packing back into the car really difficulty. Again, because my husband was disabled from surgery, we had to double park long enough for him to get out of the car and walk safely to the curb. The traffic is SO FAST coming around the curve of 2nd Street that we were often rudely honked at. The parking situation made the stay really stressful, but the rental itself is fantastic. If you don't mind steep stairs and a difficult parking situation, I heartily recommend the rental.

Hello Gail. Thank you for your review. However we would like to clarify a few things you mentioned that are misleading. The description of the property clearly states that all bedrooms are upstairs on the 2nd and 3rd floor. We always strive to accommodate our guests, but you never communicated with us regarding the room situation. In fact we were more than happy to accommodate your pet situation at the last minute when you messaged us. The parking situation is also clearly explained and shows you where you can park in front of the house and around the corner in your welcome guide, which is emailed to you and also is in the details of your reservation.
