Host was very welcoming and it was a great place to stay. Close enough to get to all the fun without being in the middle of the business. Plenty of coffee shops and bars/breweries within walking distance. Will stay here again our next time in Savannah.

I recently moved Savannah so I’m very familiar with the area and city. I needed a place last minute and near the people I was going to be visiting in Midtown and it worked out perfectly. If you’re looking for a clean place to rest your head for a few days and mosey about the town, check it out!

A perfectly quaint and curious cottage for a much needed writing retreat. Light and luminous, a warm and intimate studio; I stayed cozy during a rainy weekend in Savannah, kitchen stocked with every resource imaginable. Beautiful back patio with mature plants, quiet, comfortable bed, tiled shower, and precisely situated in a location adjacent to downtown, groceries, and shopping. Host made sure I had everything I needed. Will definitely be back!

I just don’t feel the property was accurately depicted on the website. It was very dated, much smaller than what it appeared to be in the pictures, really could’ve used some updates and a fresh coat of paint. The exterior of the building was very run down and neglected. Buildings around the house were also run down and dilapidated. We didn’t feel comfortable as soon as we entered the building and just felt unsafe all around. It made us wonder if VRBO inspects the properties that are posted on their sites because homes in this condition can negatively impact their reputation. The host was very responsive and kind and we greatly appreciated that. I’m grateful that we were able to cancel for a full refund

The studio was clean and inviting. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything, including coffee maker, air fryer, microwave, and dishes/utensils/pots and pans. The bed was comfy. Back outdoor area was nice and grill was available. The bathroom was very spacious.Jerry was extremely prompt with answering any questions. There is a list of local recommendations- which was nice to see, and also brochures on local attractions. The property is very close to just about everything you could think of- several things within walking distance and/or a very short drive. Jerry is a wonderful host, and we would definitely stay again!

Great Location

I liked the property and location. We walked and used Uber to get to where we were going. Savannah is a walker friendly town. The accommodations were great for us. But if you like 5 star hotels, this is not for you. The inside was very clean and just the right size for us. The only negative I have to report is the outside needed some work-mainly cleaner cushions on the front porch.

Cozy Spot, Great Location

We loved staying at Jerry’s. The studio was clean and well kept, the bed was comfortable, and the back porch was lovely and secluded. The location is also hard to beat - just a few short blocks from Back in the Day Bakery, Two Tides, and a lot of great restaurants on Bull St.

Savannah Suite!

Great place and location. Walking distance to Forsyth and Daffin parks. Daffin has a nice cushy running trail and a dog park too. Forsyth always has something going on and some good healthy places to eat at the end if you want to do a picnic. Also situated between two streets with bike lanes that you can make a nice loop through the city with. Apartment was very clean, well-stocked and perfect amount of room for two of us and our pooch. Very private, shaded back deck was a bonus too, although it rained a bit when we were there. Bed is very comfy and big TV was awesome. On street parking was right out the front door and was always available too. Green Truck is a block away and has good food too. Thanks for sharing your place Jerry!

Nice place to stay

Overall, the property itself is very nice. It is very cozy for how small it is. The studio has 2 rooms and a bathroom and a nice little outside patio area as well. The place was very clean and well kept. We did visit for St. Patrick's Day which was a colder day out of the year and the thermostat was blocked from allowing you to raise the tempature of the studio past 65 degrees. This made our stay a bit chilly even while inside... The studio is also not in the best of neighborhoods in Savannah. The little bodega next door does have bars on their windows. The owner is very nice and accommodating but I probably would not stay here again.

Thank you for your kind words about the Studio. Regarding the thermostat...the operation of the thermostat was detailed in your welcome letter (email). The thermostat is touch screen, the buttons on the side control Mode (Heat/Cool/Auto). (In the letter we advise guests to just use the touch screen, and not adjust the Mode button.) We noticed you had selected Auto--which holds the temperature around the last temperature you had selected. As for the bodega...probably 85 percent of the buildings in Savannah, built in that era, have bars on the windows. These things could have been cleared up quickly with a call, text or email (that's why we provide all of our guests with our direct number). We hope it did not affect your overall visit. We would love to have you Come Visit Us In Savannah...Again!

Perfect romantic getaway for two

Ideal size for two - love that there is a kitchen and a Kroger's down the street! The outdoor space is where we had our morning coffee and planned the day. Walking into the heart of the Historic District each day was a delight. And of course Savannah!

We were very pleased with our rental and it's location. We walked to beautiful Forsyth park every day with our dogs as well as some restaurants that were close by , We loved "Blowin Smoke" and it's pet friendly.There's a Kroger just down the street for convenient shopping .The studio was clean and well stocked with a very comfortable bed.My husband loved all the channels he could get on the tv and I loved having a washer and dryer. We really enjoyed the patio for morning coffee and the fact that our doggies had a place to lay in the sun safely.We got the chance to meet Jerry and he was such a sweet guy who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant.He gave us several suggestions on things to do and places to eat which was very helpful.We felt the location was great for getting around quickly but not being in the congested part of town and not having metered parking was a real plus too.We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for Two

The studio apartment was perfect for our two person stay. It had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully furnished, comfy bed and large bathroom. I especially enjoyed sitting out on the attached deck. A short, $5-$6 Uber ride to restaurants, River Street, the heart of Savannah.

Good Stay

I visited Savannah with my daughter. The studio is attached to Jerry's place (right next door). Jerry was very nice and he greeted us when we arrived, otherwise we had our own space. The place is only suited for 2 people, which we had. It is facing a busy street but when we were sleeping the traffic noise was not a problem. I would suggest removing the floor lamp and the swival chair. This would provide much more room in the small bedroom area. The lighting is ample with just the recliner. We did not cook in, but the kitchen is spacious if you wanted to prepare a meal and during warmer months you could eat outside and enjoy the back deck. The bathroom was a nice size for a studio I would suggest replacing the shower curtain with a heavy duty curtain. It was hard to keep the floor dry. I would also suggest replacing the towels. They were quite old and some were stained. The main thing that needs replacing were the sheets. The bed was comfortable but the sheets came off every night. The place is off the beaten path, but a very short drive to the historic district. For the price, it was a good place for our weekend visit. We enjoyed ourselves!

Thank you for taking such good care of our house. I'm sorry that your stay was less than perfect. The studio is only for one or two guests. Usually couples. Based on feedback we have had in the past, we added the 2nd chair because some people don't like to sit on the bed to watch TV or read. The sheets are Egyptian cotton with high sheen, so they are slick, almost like silk...point taken about sliding. The towels with Clorox spots and stains are the (clean) utility towels I mentioned in your Welcome Letter. Since we have the outdoor spaces (the back deck, and front porch), and sometimes have afternoon showers...We leave those utility towels for drying the outdoor furniture and for spills (if needed). We have had good-hearted guests that have tried to "help" by doing laundry. The rolled towels on the shelf, are a bit heavier and meant for showering. The shower curtain will raise and lower...I raise it to Clorox the tile shower so as not to bleach it. I must have forgotten to lower it. I knew you were in town early and I was trying to get the Studio ready so that you could check in early. I wanted you to know things would be better for your next visit. And again, I'll be next door if you have any questions or want me to remove any furniture, I'd be happy to. Sorry I missed you on your 2nd day when I hung the balloons on your door for Valentine's Day...I could have addressed your concerns. Regarding our location, we are in the Historic Thomas Square District. The whole Savannah Historic District is 2 square miles...we are 39 blocks from River Street, and about 10 blocks from Forsyth Park. Our guests consider our location close enough to be convenient, but not so close that you have to fight for parking or feed parking meters. Please keep us in mind for future travel. Terrific location, price, and comfort.

The studio is conveniently located with quick access to Forsythe Park, the historic district, the river, Daffin Park (with its great dog park), and Tybee Island. There is plenty of room in the studio, a full kitchen, a great bed, wifi, a big screen smart TV, and a terrific patio to eat on, drink on, and relax outside. We've been to Savannah many times and the location, if you don't want to spend all your time downtown, cannot be beaten, though you'll need a car or bike if you're not ready for long walks. Three great restaurants are within a block: Narobia's (breakfast & lunch: southern/soul food), Green Truck (lunch and dinner: burgers, salads, sandwiches); and Al Salaam (lunch and dinner: Middle East cuisine). Clary's (breakfast) and Kroger's (groceries, beer & wine) are also right down the street. All in all, highly recommended.

Excellent owner and a clean, comfortable place to stay. It is some distance to walk to River St., however the affordability of this place makes up for that. A cab or Uber ride gets you to the historic district in under ten minutes.

Worked at USC in Public Relations--traveled with all the USC teams, Asst. Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at USC. Started my own company while in college (Kabuki: The Art of Mascot)--made and redesigned college and professional mascots (i.e USC's First National Champion 'COCKY'; SC State's 'Bully'; SMU's 'Seymore'; JSU's 'Gamecock'; Kelly Tire Company's 'Star'; Charlotte Knights International League Baseball's 'Homer the Dragon', etc.)

Worked as an ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter in the SC School System, and as an Asst. Band Director at Spring Valley HS. Worked in professional athletics (NBA Charlotte Hornets/Charlotte Knights International League Baseball) in Public Relations for several years.

Became a national director for a company (National Spirit Group/National Cheerleading Association) in Dallas, TX. Developed a curriculum, published a handbook and had a staff of 13 traveling the nation teaching Public Relations. Taught classes at the National Cheerleading Coach's Conference for several years on 'University and College Imaging Enhancement'. Founder of the National Mascot School.

I've met 2 1/2 Presidents, movie stars, and Pope John Paul ll. Still friends with many guys in professional sports, as well as several Grammy winning (Christian) music groups.

Started a turn-key Cabinet/design business (Quality Kitchens).

Fell in love with Savannah, and bought a house here. One step closer to my goal of retiring in Savannah.
