An ideal starting point for hiking and biking, whether by mountain bike, e-bike, or road bike. The biking and hiking trail starts right outside the front door, and the Königsdorf moorland area invites you to enjoy extensive hikes and bike tours all the way to the Murnau Moor, Benediktbeuern, and Lake Starnberg, Lake Kochel, and Lake Walchen.
The vacation rental is quietly located in the center of Königsdorf, where King Ludwig used to stop frequently at the Gasthof zur Post—between Wolfratshausen, Geretsried, and Bad Tölz, nestled between the Isar and Loisach rivers.
You can reach the A95 highway toward Garmisch or Munich in 12 minutes; it takes 15 minutes to get to Lake Starnberg. From the highway exit, it’s another 35 minutes to Garmisch and 25 minutes to Munich. The best way to reach Austria/Tyrol is via Bad Tölz and Lenggries, passing the Sylvenstein Reservoir directly to Lake Achensee (a little over an hour’s drive).
We also offer a breakfast basket service upon request (€15 per person), or you can simply pick up fresh pretzels, rolls, and the delicious König-Ludwig bread directly from our bakery in Königsdorf. A well-stocked village store with its own butcher shop is also just a 5-minute walk away.
We’d be happy to give you tips on great places to eat and breweries in the area, as well as suggestions for bike rides or hikes.
