Situated on nearly two private acres and bordering thousands of acres of protected wilderness, this 3,200 sq. ft. log home offers a rare level of privacy and adventure. Forget the neighborhood noise—here, the hiking trails start at your back door, leading you directly into an endless expanse of nature.

The Lower Level: Entertainment & Guest Suite
The lower level serves as a dedicated social and utility hub, featuring an inviting TV room and a private bar area for evening relaxation. This floor provides flexible sleeping options with two bedrooms—one featuring two full beds and the other offering a full bed and a twin bed. The shared bathroom on this level includes a walk-in shower and also houses the home’s laundry center with a washer and dryer for easy guest access.

The Second Level: Heart of the Home & Outdoor Living
The main level is the home's primary gathering space, designed to bring the beauty of the outdoors in. It features an open-concept living area, a dining space, and a spacious kitchen. This floor hosts a king bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom, as well as a separate common bathroom with a soaking tub. Glass doors lead out to a massive wrap-around deck and private hot tub, where you can take in the absolute peace of your nearly two-acre property. From here, you are directly adjacent to thousands of acres of protected land, offering a true "deep woods" feel with hiking trails accessible right from your doorstep.

The Top Level: The Lofted Sanctuary
The uppermost floor provides a peaceful, elevated retreat that showcases the home’s impressive log architecture. It features a secluded guest suite with a queen bed and its own ensuite bathroom. Adjacent to the bedroom is a bright, airy lofted seating area that overlooks the living space below, offering a quiet vantage point for reading or enjoying a morning coffee.

Perfect location between Big Mountain and Whitefish. Kitchen was great for people who like to cook. Plenty of room for large groups to spread out. Decor was 10 out of 10. Would definitely stay there again. Host was very responsive.

Clean beautiful well equipped house. Close to whitefish. Great food too. Great hiking as well.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

We so enjoyed this property and the quiet surrounding woods. Each floor was spacious and comfortable with bathrooms for each couple. The kitchen is well appointed, and I can see spending the holidays here. Thanks for a fabulous stay!

Excellent Mountain Getaway

We spent Thanksgiving as a family at this amazing mountain home. It has everything you need to create lasting memories. Very convenient location to enjoy everything Montana has to offer. We hope to visit this property again.

Thanksgiving getaway

Lovely property, we had a great time. Our goal was a family getaway from distractions, and this was a great place for the purpose. We did a lot of cooking, kitchen wonderfully set up for that. Good quality cookware greatly appreciated! Wonderful neighborhood for walks, very cozy living area for just hanging out.

Holiday Family Reunion

This house was the perfect space for my family. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The kitchen was so well stocked with all the tools and appliances needed to create delicious food to celebrate with my extended family. The space was so cozy and comfortable. The hot tub was a treat after skiing.

great stay!

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation. Not a lot of snow but we were still able to ski, dog sled, visit with friends and renew our vows in Glacier! (20 years) The chateau was wonderful especially the super comfy beds, heated floors and hot tub. Our little JackJack also enjoyed his stay thank you for allowing dogs in your home. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Winter wonderland

My husband and I stayed at this property in early December 2021. We got a lot of snow during our trip and it was gorgeous! The property is great, well equipped. There was firewood for the fireplace. And the hot tub was a special treat for us. Property secluded enough that you feel like it’s your own escape, but close enough to town that you can easily get groceries, go shopping, etc. I would recommend an AWD or 4WD vehicle if you’re going in the winter time.

Good To Be Home Again For Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas week with family in my hometown of Whitefish. After 50 years of being away at Christmas, it was time. Christmas decorations and lights. Fresh snow even. Just as I remember it as a kid growing up in Stumptown. The cabin accommodated the 5 adults very well. Very comfortable space. Hot chocolate (adult style) around the fire pit was a memory maker. Spa was nice for the snowboarders after being on the mountain. We are planning to be back in Whitefish next Christmas and will certainly consider this cabin if it is available. Thank you.

A Very Nice Montana Experience

We (all 8 people) are very happy with our 4-night stay at the "Hellroaring Hut". The check-in process was smooth. The property is very well furnished and had pretty much everything one might need for a short stay. This house is located in very nice wooded surroundings and has a great location. However, if your primary target is Glacier National Park, it is a bit far out. Having said that, I would like to make a few simple suggestions. The hot water tank can be replaced with a bigger and faster recovering tank to minimize hot water issues. The downstairs part can also use better and upgraded mattresses to avoid "back issues". And finally, we noticed a slight odor which is either related to the dishwasher or the water itself. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will use this property again, if we travel that way. Very nice and responsive hosts.

Family ski trip

We gathered the family from around the country for a late christmas gathering. We had a wonderful time and the skiing was great. The house was cozy and accomodated all of us very well. Loved the wood burning stove, hot tub, and large table for game night. The house was out of the city a bit and we had snow every day so the road to get there was a bit slippery. I was happy to see that the road and the driveway were plowed in a timely fashion. The correspondence prior to arrival said that we would have a couple pods for laundry and small size toiletries to get us started. There was no dishwashing liquid/pods, no laundry deteregent/pods, and no shampoo (there was lotion and conditioner but no shampoo). We didn't actually notice the no shampoo until the morning when we were all trying to take a shower. Luckily one of the group brought a small bottle so we all shared until we could go buy some. Overall a great house and great experience with wonderful memories made in Whitefish.

Virtual tour please!

Property has lots of stairs and all of them have handrails only on one side. The main stairs from the basement's lower section has no hand rails. No central air so it was very hot on the main floor while we were there. A virtual tour is highly recommended and more descriptive text about the levels and entry points. Getting luggage in and out of the house was a challenge. I would not have chosen this house had I been able to see a more detailed depiction of the layout, as one of our family members is handicapped. The two downstairs bedrooms had no accessible closets and the chest of drawers was rickety and cheap. Getting in and out of the hot tub was tricky as there was not a step on the outside of it. Our little dog's leg slipped between gaps in the flooring of the outdoor deck. We loved that there were plenty of beds and bathrooms. But advertising that the home can bed 13 people is probably not completely accurate. Despite all this, we did have a great vacation and will rent vacation homes in our future.

Cabin in the Woods

Family vacation

We loved the cabin just wished it could of been cleaner. Under the 2 couches, the coffee table, end tables, beds and night stands were very dusty and dirty with pet hair, food that apparently wasn't ours because we didnt have the food that was found. Also, we were disappointed with the trash bends. We went to put out our 1st bag of trash and oth of the trash bins were half full. Emailed the manager and he was very ice and told me he would send someone out to get the trash. There was a lady that stopped to puck ip trash but she only cleaned out one bin. We were a family of 11 with 6 adults and 5 children and we went through a lot of trash. Both trash bins were full and when we left on Saturday we had to leave 2 bags of trash inside the door. I texted the manager to let him know that we had left 2 bags of trash because they wouldn't fit in the trash bin. We also had isdues with the dryer. It worked on Tuesday with that being said, it took 4 hours to dry a medium load of laundry. On Wednesday we did a load of towels and couldnt get them dry. Texted the manager the next day to make him aware
