The Space:
Wake up to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean at this Sea Ranch home, a secluded three-bedroom escape with an ocean-facing deck and hot tub, community access to swimming pools and saunas, and a striking interior filled with upscale furnishings and cozy coastal charm. You'll be just half a mile from the pool, saunas, and tennis courts at the Ohlson Recreation Center, one mile from the famous tide pools of Shell Beach, and five miles south of the markets, shops, and restaurants in downtown Gualala.
An ideal setting for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, the living space is a blend of comfort and style. The steel cable railings, well-placed track lighting, and elegant furnishings and fixtures add a touch of modernity to the home, while the warm redwood beams, incredible cork floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows help bring the wonders of nature inside.
Make yourself at home in the first living room, where you can curl up with a book on the sectional sofa, throw a few logs in the wood-burning stove (firewood is provided), and watch for whale spouts on the ocean horizon.
Stock up on groceries at the Surf Market in Gualala and prepare breakfast each morning in the gourmet kitchen. Use the Keurig to whip up homemade lattes, spread out your ingredients on the granite countertops, and prepare scrambled eggs and pancakes with the stainless steel appliances. The wood dining table has seating for six, and a dishwasher is on hand to take care of the plates.
Unfold the newspaper and head outside to the ocean-facing deck, where you can read in the sunshine and watch for deer in the surrounding meadow. Come lunchtime, you can light the gas grill on the front porch, sit down to eat at the patio table, and reconnect with your loved ones as you enjoy the view.
Spend your afternoons at the Ohlson Recreation Center, swimming in the heated outdoor pool, relaxing in the sauna, or playing tennis, basketball, and volleyball with friends. When you come back home, you can warm up in the private hot tub on the enclosed garden patio, pile on the sofa, and choose a DVD to watch on the flatscreen cable TV and Blu-ray player (with 3D capability) in the living room.
With three bedrooms, a loft, and two full bathrooms, Sentinel Ridge will accommodate eight guests. You'll sleep soundly in the master suite, which features a king-size bed and a bathroom with a multi-jet shower. The other two bedrooms have a queen-size bed and a pair of twin beds, respectively, and they share a bathroom with a stall shower.
The loft is accessed with a ladder-style staircase, offering a comfortable futon-style sofa that overlooks the kitchen, dining room, and living room. You'll find a second flatscreen TV and a DVD player in this space, as well as a private washer/dryer on the main floor for all of your laundry needs.
Beloved by architecture enthusiasts, nature lovers, and Northern Californians in search of relaxation, Sea Ranch is a magical place to rest and unwind. Look for starfish, anemones, and other sea creatures in the tide pools at Shell Beach, and keep an eye open for harbor seals playing in the waves.
