Hi there! We are the Begin Family, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome you to The Cottage at Quill Hollow.

While our primary home and family farm are located about an hour away in Suffield, CT, the Berkshires have always held a deeply special place in our hearts. With a passion for hands-on projects, renovating this cottage into a clean, modern farmhouse retreat has been a true labor of love for us.

When we aren’t hosting, our lives are beautifully busy running our homestead, which is filled with large-scale gardens, chickens, ducks, and our three mischievous resident goats—Honey, Twinkle, and Pepper. On any given weekend, you can usually find us baking sourdough, preserving homemade artisanal jams, or out in nature exploring.

We fell in love with Middlefield for its raw, untouched beauty and the rare chance it offers to truly unplug from the noise of everyday life. We wanted to create a space where families and friends could gather to experience that same magic, whether that means hiking to nearby waterfalls in the summer or hitting the ski slopes in the winter.

Above all, we love the personal connection to this road—having our family just down the lane at "The Cabin" makes this peaceful escape feel complete.

We take mornings seriously here, which is why the cottage features a fully loaded coffee station—complete with a Breville Bambino Plus espresso machine and fresh beans from Barrington Coffee Roasting Company.

Our location offers the ultimate "digital detox," where cell service fades away to let you truly disconnect from screens and reconnect with nature. Outside, premium amenities like a Blackstone flat-top griddle and a cozy propane fire pit set the stage for unforgettable evenings under a brilliant, starlit sky.
