Nestled in a safe, charming and humble older home full of character, this spacious main-floor apartment offers a warm, inviting place to relax after a day of adventure. Enjoy in-unit laundry and a large yard with a grill, fire pit, and plenty of space to unwind. Great fishing lakes are just minutes away! The upstairs apartment is rented separately with its own private entrance, keeping your stay peaceful and private.

We really appreciated our host's kindness and hospitality. She was friendly, welcoming, & clearly cares about her guests. She also communicated well.We appreciated several things about this property. It's conveniently located near Willmar, the check-in process was easy, & the price was reasonable. The kitchen was very well-stocked (including plenty of dishes), the appliances we used all worked well, the fridge was clean, & the furniture was comfortable. There's an extensive collection of DVDs to choose from, some board games, & the TV was hooked up to the internet. I also appreciated that the shower had shampoo, conditioner, & body wash for guests to use.The property itself isn't perfect - in addition to room for improvement re: cleanliness, the biggest concern affecting the quality of our stay was the odor (as mentioned by a previous guest). There was a strong humid, musty odor throughout the house - it also smelled as though a previous owner may have smoked indoors. The smell lingered on my clothes even after we left. Opening the windows & running the dehumidifier helped considerably, so perhaps an ozone treatment or similar odor-removal service would make a big difference.While we enjoyed the quiet location and could tell the home has a lot of character, we feel the odor issue should be addressed before future guests arrive. With some TLC, this could be a cozy, charming place to stay! We truly wish the owner the best as she continues working to improve her property.

Thank you so much for your feedback.... I can tell you some of the things I have been actively doing since acquiring my property...... last fall I installed a radon mitigation system and a new furnace. I just had the plumber in last week checking it and the sump pump since our recent rain and he said it was plugged. So now that it is working properly now it should be better. I do have a cleaner that comes in and cleans but sounds like I need to have her do a little deeper cleaning. I have new curtains in the bedrooms which in my opinion are the most important place to have curtains. I haven't put curtains in the living room because It looks so nice without. I guess my fault for thinking the sunshine is nice streaming in the windows. I will work on getting some in there. I'm not sure why the pillow didn't get dressed and put on the bed. I usually have extra pillows in the closets without their cases on them until they are needed. That is also why I have extra sheets on the rooms shelf One of my last guests spilt some ink on my bed staining the bedspread, however, it has been washed many times, the sheets that also got stained were thrown away. It cost me a lot of money for them and hard to replace right away. I'm sorry about the garbage bags, I had just gone to the store and thought I had purchased some and see that I had not. Again I'm sorry. I'm just a humble single older woman of meager means doing my best all by myself since the passing of my husband.

The property was nothing like the pictures. While the host was friendly, the condition of the house was very disappointing.The home is very old, the floors are noticeably uneven, and there was a foul odor upon entering. The home was generally dirty. The ceiling fan was dirty, the garbage can was filthy, the windows were filthy, and the carpet was unclean. The carpeting also appeared to have been poorly installed, with uneven seams and edges. Several doors were out of square and did not fit or close properly. The bathroom vanity door beneath the sink would not close properly.The kitchen sink counter is rotted along the right-hand edge, indicating deferred maintenance. The clothes dryer produced no heat, making it unusable for drying laundry.The front steps are a safety hazard and should be repaired. There were no curtains in the front living room, leaving guests fully visible from the street after dark with essentially no privacy.When we first entered the house, a smoke alarm was chirping because of a low battery, which should have been addressed before guests arrived.On the second day of our stay, we returned to the house and saw the host and a contractor leaving through the door to the porch. The host said they had been inspecting the foundation. As they were leaving, my brother asked whether she was aware of renters' rights. She replied that she had not been inside the house and did not have a key.I would not recommend staying here.

I'm sorry your stay was not enjoyable. I indeed had changed the alarms before your stay. I do not know why it was still chirping and changed alarm with a brand new one while you watched me. I have continued to do improvements to my property over time. It is an old house which is also the uniqueness of the property. I did not appreciate the cannabis smoking which was very fragrant when doing our inspection of the foundation and the steps with my contractor. Doing continued upgrades of my property is always challenging in-between guest stays and I make the space as comfortable as possible when they are there. The property was not meant to be a perfect space with no flaws. Also, part of the uniqueness of the property which as a single woman, I maintain myself without much assistance and pride myself that at my age still can do. Again, I'm sorry you were unhappy. I thank you for your service.

The home was very clean and well stocked with kitchen needs. Nice having all needed ammenities! Geri was very responsive to messages during the stay. Lots of bed space!
