First of all, I received no text telling me how to check in ( there is a camp host, but I didn’t know it was part of a camp, so I experienced some stress trying to get a hold of someone with the number provided, some exterior management company that isn’t available on Sundays. When a very nice young hostess came out to greet me as I drove in, I was relieved. Then during my first ten minutes inside the front room a very heavy rolling door fell over and hit the top of my foot ) I was lucky!). When the host ( also very nice ) came over to reinstall the door, I asked if the ground level windows which opened out could be locked ( single woman here). He said no, that he could close them for me but I wouldn’t be able to reopen them. He offered to refund my money and let me find something else, but I was exhausted, don’t know the area, and was too tired to look. The rooms were very clean except the fridge hadn’t been wiped out ( just some produce leaves and an open package in the freezer) and a metal strainer in the sink which was covered with gunk on the bottom. The buildings, the tent camps all look cute with flower baskets in front of the tents adding a nice touch. The grounds look like it used to be a resort with outside games and fire pits that need refurbishing ( the paint on dry wood has peeled, etc. The best part of my stay was eating at the nearby Green Lantern which has friendly service, good food, and a large outdoor yard for us dog owners to dine in.
